Topic: Shows and Movies Which Are Predominantly One Element

The idea for this topic came to me yesterday when I was watching the movie 'Straw Dogs.' The following examples have casts that are overwhelmingly a single element.Straw Dogs: Stars Kate Bosworth (Capricorn), Alexander Skarsgaard (Virgo), and James Marsden (Virgo). The movie is a film about status, survival, and takes place mostly in the great outdoors. Clueless: Stars Alicia Silverstone (Libra), Stacey Dash (Aquarius), and Elise Donovan (Aquarius). It is a lighthearted coming-of-age film that features snappy dialogue which became part of the cultural lexicon in the 90s. In addition, the movie 'Grease' stars John Travolta (Aquarius), Olivia Newton-John (Libra), Stockard Channing (Aquarius), and Jeff Conway (Libra). The film is one of the most memorable musicals of all time and deals with issues of image, identity, friendship and loyalty. The Notebook: Stars Rachel McAdams (Scorpio) and Ryan Gosling (Scorpio). The film tells the tale of true love that endures over time. As well, the television series "American Horror Story" stars Dylan McDermott (Scorpio), Connie Britton (Pisces), Kate Mara (Pisces), and Frances Conroy (Scorpio). The actors who play the remaining three characters (Tate, Violet and Constance) span three signs - Aquarius, Leo, and Taurus, all fixed signs. The show involves themes heavily of death and sex. The series Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki, a Cancer, and Jensen Ackles, a Pisces. I think its themes are self-explanatory. Buffy The Vampire Slayer - the television series - starred Sarah Michelle Gellar (Aries), Alyson Hannigan (Aries), and Nicholas Brendan (Aries). In addition, the television series Charmed starred Holly Marie Combs (Sagittarius), Alyssa Milano (Sagittarius) and Shannon Doherty (Aries). Both series' were action shows involving the supernatural. Finally, the now-defunct series "Dawson's Creek" starred James Van Deer Beek, a Pisces, Katie Holmes, a Sagittarius, Michelle Williams, a Virgo, and Joshua Jackson, a Gemini - the cast was exclusively mutable signs. Like Clueless, the show was a coming-of-age story famed for its snappy dialogue, but the similarities end there; 'Dawson's' dealt with much heavier subject matter. A similar theme is found with new show 'The Voice,' with judge Adam Levine being Pisces, judges Blake Shelton and Cee-Lo being Gemini, and judge Christina Aguilera being Sagittarius.

Neat! I always thought casting directors ought to use astrology to make sure the chemistry is believable.  Colin Firth (Virgo) starring opposite Renée Zellweger (Taurus) and Hugh Grant (Virgo) in the Bridget Jones movies. Firth starring opposite Jennifer Ehle (Capricorn) in Pride & Prejudice. IP: Logged |

"Raising Hope" - full of Scorpios and Saggies and one of the funniest TV shows IMO.I'm a big fan of "My Name Is Earl" - written by the same guy - an Aries.

You know, I really loved Grease when I was little, and have this weird, extra strong appreciation for Clueless. I am hard to please with movies, so my friends couldn't get over how much I loved Clueless. Maybe it was the real harmony between the characters. Paul Rudd's Aries sun (today is his birthday) is opposite Silverstone's...this is actually a sound match, I believe, but off topic here. IP: Logged |

Clueless was my favourite movie for years. It made sense when I grew up and got into astrology, lol.

Just looked at the full cast of the movie 'The Craft' on imdb and every speaking role in the film goes as follows: Gemini, Gemini, Libra, Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, so all air or fixed, a variation on American Horror Story.IP: Logged |

Oh I love this topic. I've always researched astrological placements when watching shows and movies to get an idea of harmony. Very cool. I'll add a few I know off the top of my head.Friends (Air/Fire personalities): Jennifer Aniston (Aquarius), Courtney Cox (Gemini), Lisa Kudrow (Leo), Matt Leblanc (Leo), Matthew Perry (Leo), and David Schwimmer (Scorpio). David aka Ross is the odd one out but he's a pretty strong sign which makes him fit in with the rest. The show was light and goofy and filled with a plethora of action comedy reminiscent of the Fire element energy. Will and Grace (Fire/Water dominance): Debra Messing (Leo), Eric McCormack (Aries), Sean Hayes (Aries or Cancer) and Megan Mullally (Scorpio with Moon and Mercury in Sagittarius). It was a very energetic showed filled with lighthearted drama and finesse. Megan's dominant Fire in her chart which blends well with everyone elses elemental energy. It might just be me being an Air sign but I love Airy shoes and comedies with a Fiery flair. Clueless, what a movie! Oh and American Idol judges: Steven Tyler (Aries), JLO (Leo), Randy (Leo). Most of the people in the Austin Powers films are air signs; Mike Myers, Elizabeth Hurley, Mimi Rogers, Seth Green, Heather Graham, Robert Wagner - all Geminis or Aquarians. I'm sort of noticing a theme with the air sign movies; generally speaking, they don't run very deep, do they? LOL. Although they're great fun!!'The Box' starred Cameron Diaz and James Marsden, both Virgos. I really loved this film and feel it should have gotten more attention. The cast of Charlie's Angels (Drew Barrymore, Pisces, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, Sag) continue the mutable cast trend. It seems all mutables work really well together when the cast is meant to seem deliberately diverse, and heavily fixed adds a nice atmosphere of dread and tension - you just know sh!t's going to go down. Cool topic! Community is one of my favorites. It's witty, bizzarre and fun. The actors are as follows: Joel McHale Scorpio, Gillian Jacobs (Britta) Libra, Yvette Brown (Shirley) Leo, Alison Brie (Annie) Capricorn, Donald Glover (Troy) Libra and Chevy Chase (Pierce) Libra. The fun part to me about a lot of TV characters is how WELL the actor who is portraying the character displays their own sun sign. In this case, Jeff Winger seems to CONNSUMATE Scorpio, and is played by one. (Joel McHale). Annie is a strict student, somewhat goody two shoes kind of person, played by a Capricorn sun. IP: Logged |

"Once Upon a Time" has a lot of fire: Robert Carlyle--Aries, Josh Dallas--Sagittarius, Meghan Ory--Leo, Jennifer Morrison--Aries. It also has three Geminis--Eion Bailey, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jared S. Fun Topic!The cast of Mad Men are primarily Earth suns- January Jones (Capricorn Sun/Scorpio Moon), Vincent Kartheiser (Taurus Sun/Virgo Moon), Christina Hendricks (Taurus Sun/Aqua Moon) Even the exceptions however, have Earth Moons, with the exceptions being: Elisabeth Moss (Leo sun/Virgo Moon), John Slattery (Leo Sun/Capricorn Moon), and Jon Hamm (Pisces Sun/Virgo Moon). It does not surprise me to see a lot of Virgo in the mix, as many Virgos seem to like to like 'retro' stuff in general (look at Amy Winehouse, Michael Buble for evidence of this in singers). quote:
