Hi everyone,

I've got Jupiter in Aries in the ninth, so that seems beneficial, but I'm trying to figure out if Jupiter's afflicted or not? I'm trying to gauge my luck with traveling.

I have, on the negative side:
Jupiter square sun (exact)
Jupiter opposed Pluto (5* orb)

Positive side:
Jupiter trine Venus (9*)
Jupiter trine Neptune (3*)
Jupiter very widely trine Saturn (16*)
Jupiter sextile Mercury (9*)
Jupiter sextile Mars (exact)

The positive aspects outnumber the negative, but that Pluto opposition spooks me a bit.

Is that a red flag?

Anything else I should be looking at? Ruler of my ninth (Mars) is in the 11th.

Thanks for any insight.

To wide orb of most of that. I'll only count.
Jupiter square sun
Jupiter trine neptun
jupiter sextile mars

Jupiter will never be a red flag..

People with low self-esteem are red flag. They often have problem to work out and take the challange and experiences on a good level.

Thanks.

I don't know what to make of your observation about self-esteem.

I can have lots of self-esteem, but still have bad experiences with travel.

Hi Faith!

What do you mean by "bad experiences with travel", if I may ask?
What is it exactly that goes wrong?

And is Mars afflicted?

Hi Doux!

My family is thinking of buying a boat and taking a long sea voyage.

I'd like to get a feel for how much "luck" I will have with sailing, since it is pretty much a death-defying sport.

Concerns include hitting bad storms, boat damage, sinking, pirates, and so on.

I don't know if my Mars is afflicted since I don't really know how to tell if a planet is afflicted.

Do you just count the good versus bad aspects?

for the hard aspects, look to see what houses the afflicted planets rule.

in other words
what house cusp is Leo (Sun) on and
What house cusp is Scorpio (Pluto) on?

start there.

Technically, a planet is considered afflicted when it receives a hard aspect, regardless of the other aspects. So even one hard aspect could make it "afflicted". But if the planet also makes easy aspects to other planets, the energies can be more easily released in a non stressful way (via trines, sextiles).

I hope it goes well for you!

Thank you, lalalinda!

Leo in the first house, Scorpio in the fourth, and I have no idea how to translate that. My sun is in the 6th and Pluto's in the 3rd...ack, so confusing.

Thank you, Doux!

Okay, now I know my entire chart is afflicted! Seriously, every single thing takes a hit from something else.

Hmm that explains a lot.

For me everything are about how we look at what happens. If we look at bad experiences like a good thing and experience there we can learn from, everything will changes.
I dont look at red flags. I look at possibilities on every aspect. For me every aspect are an possibility to growth.

I'm with you, to a certain extent. Make lemonade from your lemons.

But if our ship sinks, we might die. What does that have to do with the personalities or self-esteem of the passengers? Did we subconsciously collaborate to make that disaster happen?

You might argue with me, but I suspect there's a limit to how much we control our destiny.

Faith, you seem to be quite worried about this all.

Do you absolutely have to take that sea voyage?

I am a worrier myself, so I understand your concern.

I hope things will turn out fine for you, whatever you do.

Thank you, Doux!

No, we don't have to take the sea voyage.

We're just thinking of learning to sail and then heading to Bermuda (keeping AWAY from the Bermuda triangle! :laughing .

I've always had luck with travel before, but I don't know if that has anything to do with my Jupiter in the 9th or not.

Cheers to a fellow worrier.
