"REGULUS -- 29LEO48 -- #13926 -- mag1.3 The heart of the Lion and known as The Watcher of the North. A Royal Star of Persia. This is one of the great stars in the sky and is linked to the Persian mythical king, Feridum. He was a prosperous king but lost his kingdom when he engaged in revenge. All of the Royal Stars promise great potential and success as long as a particular human nemesis is avoided. In Regulus' case, the issue is that of revenge and if strong in a chart, the individual needs to avoid this temptation. Influence: temptation for revenge. Ptolemy - The Heart of the Lion; influence of Jupiter & Mars"from http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/001463.html IP: Logged |

astronomical datas of Regulus: http://stars.astro.illinois.edu/sow/regulus.html quote: Regulus is actually a quadruple star. Most obviously, it has a distant lower mass companion 175 seconds of arc (at least 4200 Astronomical Units from it, some 100 times Pluto's distance from the Sun) that orbits Regulus with a period of at least 125,000 years. The companion, however, is ITSELF a double separated by at least 97 astronomical units apart in a minimum 880- year orbit. Both stars are less massive and dimmer than the Sun. The brighter is an orange K2 dwarf similar to the lesser component of Alpha Centauri, while the fainter is a red (class M4) dwarf. From the little double, Regulus would look like a brilliant star four times brighter than our full Moon. Much more intriguing is a tight fourth companion detected only spectroscopically that orbits Regulus proper with a period of a mere 40.11 days. Analysis suggests that it is white dwarf with an anomolously low mass of just 0.3 solar, far below the minimum of 0.55 allowed by current stellar evolution. Kepler's laws then give a separation of about 0.35 Astronomical Units. Astronomers speculate that when the white dwarf was a luminous giant (far larger and brighter than Regulus is now) that it transferred much of its mass (through tidal interaction) to the star that is now Regulus, and in doing so, sped it up to its current fast rotation rate (which fits with the white dwarf scenario)

i've been wondering about this star since it is prominent in my chart, being conjunct my north node. besides the illusion of glamour i think this star is about discipline and acceptance. that is not in my character, being aqua with uranus squaring mercury, trine venus, sextile saturn and widely square my sun. so from my point of view, regulus is about accepting to be disciplined; there is a feeling of military in it. like if a fighting spirit is good. it's a star in leo after all and leo knows when and how to stand his ground. so it is not about being always agreeing with everything, but it's about using one's energy to avoid having regrets; whatever' cause we choose; IP: Logged |

Hi DepTaurus,The fixed star Regulus is definitely at 29 degrees Leo. However, I think it has moved more minutes that 48'. It expresses itself strongly with prominence or fame. For example, the rock star Prince has his MC at 29 degrees Leo. Frank Lloyd Wright, known as the world's greatest modern architect also had his MC aligned with Regulus. Ravi Coltrane, the son of one of the greatest Jazz Musicians, has Mercury aligned with Regulus. I can only interpret that has his mind constantly being focused on his musical legacy, his connection to inheriting the title of the Prince of Jazz. IP: Logged |

I'm not sure how I would interpret it. I learned to only interpret when a planet is conjunct a fixed star. I get more information from Moon at 29th degree Aquarius as needing to be socially significant and maybe thats part of just being opposite Leo. Leo needs attention and needs to be dramatic so those two things seem to match.IP: Logged |

kat, if i'm right, your moon is conjunct formalauht. isn't it? geo, my south node is 29'54 aqua (mean) and 29'19 (true) i agree that there is a need to be socially significant. my strong desire was to be a politician, and change the world, no less. now, i don't know if i'm moving towards my north node and regulus but i plan to be a truck driver! i'm very interested by international politics but i decided to improve my being, instead of the world, it's more likely to work out ok. may be i'll become the king of the road... my moon is actually at 0* 20' pisces so it may actually be too far away to call an opposition anyway. i was forgetting that the stars are usually only conjunct something..IP: Logged |

Hi Katatonic,I would say that your Moon being at 0 degrees Pisces definitely puts your Moon within the orb of influence to be an exact opposition to Regulus. IP: Logged |
