I have Mars in the 8th, but mine is in Cancer and it has a lot of issues. It's highly afflicted, as it represents some domestic issues with abuse I've had throughout my life. So although some of what you get with 8H Mars is true for me, mine is a bit different especially in the last degree of the sign.

That aside, Mars in the 8th is a powerful and sometimes feared placement. Not to instill fear in you, that's not my intention at all. Sometimes it's just... seen as not the ideal placement for Mars, since this highly volatile, intense planet does not always fare well in the house of Scorpio. But maybe since you actually have Mars in Scorpio, this can ease the ill effects of having this planet here. It's not really going to make it any *easier* but at least Mars is not in a weak sign such as Cancer.

Traditionally 8H Mars is a very sexual placement. Mars is a sexual planet, what we look at to see what our sexuality is like or how compatible we are with another in synastry besides Venus. Mars is intense action, and the lust, not love, I'd think. So yes, I'm going to be upfront, you could be rather lusting with this placement! Your sex drive is probably on the high side compared to one without this placement. If Mars is afflicted especially to Mercury you could be preoccupied with sex, not as a nymphomaniac or anything so extreme I'd hope, but maybe feeling insecure about it or having on-and-off desires that flare up intensely and disappear just as fast. Scorpio is a fixed sign and with Mars in Scorpio you could suddenly out of the blue have an insatiable desire for another. But again, this highly depends on the aspects surrounding Mars.

You did say Mars conjuncts Pluto here... all the more powerful! Since Pluto is now seen by some as the ruler of Scorpio now, you have three things here that intensify your 8th house: Mars here, Mars in Scorpio, and a Mars-Pluto conjunction. Not to be too blatant but this doubly increases the chances of you having a very high sexual drive, but also having extremely intense emotions that could affect your very intimate relationships and traditional 8th house matters such as property and inheritance. How formal, right? Well if we apply this to the modern world, we can understand it better. I don't mind using my case as an example. My 8th house Mars is related to the 4th house, since I have an empty 4th house with Aries on the cusp. I have an afflicted Mars that opposes my 2nd house planets that represent myself, and squares Mercury. Throughout my life family has constantly disputed over money, bills and child support; and my personality is constantly causing issues with personal relationships since many family members have psychological issues. So we can see how I have difficulties with money, intimate relationships and most likely inheritance later in life from my afflicted 8H Mars.

I read on astrofix.com that Mars-Pluto is extremely intense, and gives you an animal like power that can be stored deep within. When Mars connects to Pluto you have an inner strength that must be harnessed at some time in your life, for whatever reason necessary, usually indicated by the house placements of these two planets. For me, I have Mars trine Pluto... and I see that as a hopeful sign that one day I can regenerate and transform away from my afflicted Mars with the regenerative powers of Pluto. What you need to learn with such a powerful 8H is that you can't let your powerful emotions boil over and destroy your intimate relationships. Because usually with the destruction of these highly personal 8H relationships comes failure and loss in the 8H matters like money and mutual finances or maybe a steady partnership... not always the case, but it can happen. You will feel it acutely if it does. All I can say is that with this 8H, you probably have an intense love life at the least... do you feel like your personal relationships can be very intense at times? If you don't mind telling anyone.
