Your 'problem child' planet: what is it, where is it, and why do you feel it's the thorn in your side? I think most everyone can say that they have that one planet that just causes them a lot of troubles. Maybe it's highly afflicted, or just in a terrible house for how it functions, or maybe you deal with both.

Personally, my problem child planet is Mars. It's in the 29th degree, opposite my 2nd house Uranus conjunct Neptune, AND represents severe familial issues due to my 4H with Aries on the cusp. It also squares Mercury, so my logic can even get clouded by it! (Thank God it trines Pluto... I don't know what I'd do without that.)

Anyway, feel free to share if you wish. I'm experimenting with starting new threads, so go easy on me!

Neptune. Neptune. Neptune. In my 7th house. I could say my Mars square Moon/Jupiter/SN in the 12th. Or my Cancer Sun/Venus square Pluto/Karma. But I feel like I learn from those aspects somehow or that they serve me in some way.

Neptune in the 7th just seems to cause me grief and confusion. And relationships which seem amazing at first but never reach their potential. The ruler of my 7th is actually Jupiter and though I feel like Jupiter helps out my 12th house, Neptune (which quincunxes my moon ) just disillusions me repeatedly, no matter how much I work on those issues.

Went though each one of my planets as a response... trying to figure out which one was the major problem. Here's the answer I came up with:

All of them

Except maybe Jupiter Cancer in my eighth, but that's unaspected so....

Sun conjunct Saturn - need I say more
Mercury retrograde
Venus/Mars/Pluto conjunct - tag team from hell
Moon inconjunct Mars - Activate tag team and apply inconjunction
Uranus sitting close enough to the 12th house that most people say read it for both - ah yay
Neptune first house - Fantasies? What fantasies? This is my reality!

Failure to incorporate the later into your work is akin to learning how to cure cancer but not sharing it with anyone.

Gah. I can relate to this one the most (clearly), only from the other side of the (watery, misty, confusing, nebulous) fence.

Entertaining response, though I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.

I have a splash chart, and everything is afflicted, without exception:

Sun: squares Pluto and Jupiter
Mercury: opposes Saturn, squares Uranus
Moon: squares Mars, Venus, and Neptune
Venus: squares moon, opposes Mars

That gives you the basic idea, I'd continue but it would be repetitive.

But to balance this out, I have a loose air-fire grand sextile (air grand trine, fire grand trine) and there is some easy energy there, for comfort and relief.

Venus without a doubt, it squares Mars, the moon,Uranus, and Pluto and exactly quicunxes chiron. Alot of problems with women and that's not fun when your a straight Guy lmao, I mean everyone has problems with dating/relationships to an extent, but I think having an afflicted Venus makes things that much more difficult.

^ Sounds pretty challenging. Usually it's an old soul who has a complex chart like that and can handle it.

I'm sorry to hear you have difficulties with these... LOL tag team from hell. I'm sorry but I laughed out loud a little at that one. You have a great sense of humor about it at least! I gotta remember that one for Venus-Mars-Pluto connections... I can't help but agree with you a little. I'm sure having those three planets conjunct creates A LOT of intense energies especially with your romance nature, but at least you don't have Venus square Pluto - that's like the magnet for psychotic lovers, or so I've seen in real life cases!

Sun conjunct Saturn must be tough too. Does it make you feel nervous when you're spot-lighted? I know the pain of having a crappy Sun situation, well mine sort of is - totally peregrine in H10 and semi-square Pluto which I personally feel has subtly contributed to many of the disasters that have happened in my life. I also feel the lack of aspects has made it pretty hard to establish my own identity, and to make it more difficult it's my singleton planet as well. :/

Venus square Pluto is tough... I've read it can make you attracted to the wrong types of people. And once you're with such a person, it may for whatever reason be very difficult to distance yourself from them, despite not even liking them! A woman close to me with this aspect has attested to this... she always attracted weird men she found she first liked then hated then liked AGAIN, and even ended up marrying one of these guys who made her have hot-cold feelings, and later ended up threatening divorce after they separated and he followed her around everywhere she went like a stalker. :0 So yes, I see how hard Venus-Pluto has been for you... does it just make it difficult to find the 'right' sort of woman for you?

I feel quite bad Venus is your problem child. It's so fundamental to who we are, it must be tough on your psyche trying to find a balance with all the squares. I feel especially bad you have Venus square Moon too, did that make difficulties with your mom growing up? If this is too personal feel free to tell me to step off. I just relate to people who have difficulties with their moms, since I have had a very difficult time with my own mother growing up. I've read harsh Moon-Venus aspects could have indicated a mom growing up who was either TOO giving to her kids, or just wanted too much fun and didn't mesh with her maternal side as well as she should have. This seems tough especially for a man, since I'd see it has resulting in an emotional nature that could become emotionally cool as a result of what Mom did. The aspects which indicate troubles with our mothers are very hard to deal with it seems. I have Moon conjunct Chiron although the Moon is not my problem planet, but this aspect alone can sometimes make me feel it is!

Mars in Aries in the 1st house is the problem child in my chart. Problem child because it can be very naughty and in general up to no good if it's not kept in check. It's opposite my Sun, square my Uranus and quintile my Pluto. It's been a burden in the smallest sense but overall it's a blessing to have this placement. It's gotten me into trouble though...

All is pleasant though. Its no longer the problem child but something that I can count on in all kinds of situations. There are always things to be learned from the more challenging placements. Just areas within our charts we've got to pay more attention too. Isn't that always what the problem kids are desperately seeking? Attention, some TLC.

Where do I begin...

Venus, Pluto AND Mars.

They're in a little stellium together in my 10th house Libra (close enough to impact 11th on the Venus side), they're largely semisquare my Sun/Saturn in Virgo conjunction (more on the Venus side of the stellum for the Saturn semisquare... which itself is square my Sagittarius Ascendant/Gemini Descendant)... which would put the stellium semi-square my Ascendant (at least on the Venus side).

Yep, I've had some incendiary moments (Some awkward ones too, but hey who hasn't?)

I saw this and thought, "Are you me?!"

Now I'm curious, where's your moon?

Sweet scorpion, I didn't know having moon sq venus could indicate difficulties with ur mother. I have that too and I remember fighting with my mom all the time growing up. She was overly critical, always yelling at me for something sheesh, and I got constantly compared to one of my sisters. She really damaged my self esteem back in high school. But she's my mom and she's older now. Altho we still butt heads lol I just try to keep my mouth shut. Thank u for sharing what u know. It helps

Whoops I went off topic....hmm id hafta sit down and really think about this but off the top of my head I gonna say venus sq neptune. I tend to delude myself and turn a blind eye to what I don't really wanna c. Then reality hits and its not so fun. Even when I try not to do that, I end up doing it anyways.

Venus Pluto aspects suck! Lol and no me and my mom are very close, I mean we fight and argue but at the end of the day are best friends, except for when she was going through menopause and I lost my mom at random times over a two year period and she became a catitonic psychopath.

Moon's in Taurus, conjunct Chiron. My sun's actually very close to the Leo cusp (0 Vir 15'31"). The synchronicity is amazing.

Little known fact: Kobe Bryant, from what I can tell, was born on the same day as me and about 100-125 miles from where I was born, yet he and I lead very different lives. (8/23/1978). If we had a birthtime for him, we could compare and see how different.

From what I've seen in his life... yeah, I can tell ya Mars/Venus/Pluto together is a pain for Kobe, ain't it? Different manifestation from my experiences, I'll say that much. Which leads me to believe he and I do not have the same angles/houses for our signs.

Now were you also on the same day? This could be a very interesting case study for astrology...

@aquaguy91 Yeah, they really can. I have the Venus-Pluto conjunction in Scorpio and it can be a toughie sometimes.

Yeah, this is also what the aspect could possibly denote: your love nature is out of synch with your emotional needs. Maybe for you depending on house placement of Venus it ended up not making things too difficult with your mom! :') That's good. Maybe other things in your chart indicate a smoother relationship with her...? Your Ceres could also explain what goes on with her so you did not feel the Moon-Venus square so directly growing up.

You're welcome love. I am sorry to hear you went through issues with your mom as well. It's extremely unfortunate to go through issues with one and both parents... people sometimes don't know how much it can hurt years later even into adulthood.

Moon-Venus square can definitely indicate issues with your mom and how she embraced the motherhood role; it seems in your case maybe she did not fit very well with traditional mothering and what it requires and that caused tension between you two? I read on another astro forum a real life example of this aspect where the girl said her mom would sometimes just wanna party all night and would take her kids (the girl and her little sister) to inappropriate places so she could have fun, without respecting her kids' needs. :/

More troubles with nurturing from Mom could include:

>Moon-Chiron especially hard aspects (the heart is afflicted with a deep wound... there is something wounding about maternal relationships and/or experiences)

>Mars-Ceres (a lot of tension and maybe outbursts, the nurturing could've been tumultuous)

>Moon-Uranus (maybe something was odd with the way you were raised, even positive aspects can indicate this... when Aquarius meets Moon this indicates a parent who does not embrace traditional parental roles most often.)

There are a lot of people on this forum, but still what's the likelyhood of two people with the same birthday AND the same rising sign? LOL

My least favorite placement of mine is easily my moon. It's not so much that it's in Capricorn that I dislike, it's because it's in my eighth house.
