I like to think that Astrology is complex enough that there is too much information for any one person to be good at every aspect of it.So, if you were to look at your style when looking at a person or a chart, what part of Astrology would you say is your strength? Or what do you find the most fun? Or on the flip side, what part of Astrology are you bad at? Or want to be good at?
Personally, I tend to be good at stripping away a lot of the extra information and digging into the bare bones of the subject itself. I spent about a year analyzing the signs themselves, not what they mean, but what they are. For example Virgo - Negative (feminine) - Communicator (mutable) - Earth. You wouldn't think that you could spend an entire year looking over something so simple, but you'd be wrong. lol
I find the layers of just that information completely fascinating.
For example, what I came up with is, the elemental describers (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) are just charges meant to describe two things at the same time (masc/fem & their charge). It would be more apt to say:
Aries - Masculine - Cardnial - Positive
Taurus - Feminine - Fixed - Positive
Gemini - Masculine - Mutable - Negative
Cancer - Feminine - Cardnial - Negative
Leo - Masculine - Fixed - Positive
Virgo - Feminine - Mutable - Positive
Libra - Masculine - Cardnial - Negative
Scorpio - Feminine - Fixed - Negative
Sagittarius - Masculine - Mutable - Positive
Capricorn - Feminine - Cardnial - Positive
Aquarius - Masculine - Fixed - Negative
Pisces - Feminine - Mutable - Negative
Including only one additional attribute for the third describer, rather than having the redundancy of also describing fem/masc.
Making the oppositions look a bit like this:
Aries - Masculine - Cardnial - Positive vs Libra - Masculine - Cardnial - Negative
Taurus - Feminine - Fixed - Positive vs Scorpio - Feminine - Fixed - Negative
Gemini - Masculine - Mutable - Negative vs Sagittarius - Masculine - Mutable - Positive
Cancer - Feminine - Cardnial - Negative vs Capricorn - Feminine - Cardnial - Positive
Leo - Masculine - Fixed - Positive vs Aquarius - Masculine - Fixed - Negative
Virgo - Feminine - Mutable - Positive vs Pisces - Feminine - Mutable - Negative
Obviously this is just a different way to say the exact same thing, but I find the distinction extremely enlightening. More focus on the fact that opposing signs are the exact same thing with a different charge.
I'm good with that kind of stuff... as well as looking at and understanding conjunctions, squares, and oppositions. Not necessarily what they mean but what they are.
Please share, I'd love to see where your mind takes you when viewing Astrology.
