Lately, I've been feeling a little lost about love. I don't know if I should give up or keep the faith. I've been single since '09 and I've been dating for a while now. I'm to the point right now where I want to find love, not as a nessesity, but as a choice, if that makes any sense. My divorce was a very dark and mournful period for me and I feel like I've paid my dues as far ar that goes. I feel like everyone around me is find love and having babies...but not me. At times, I feel like I'm not very derserving of it, and that I will never get the one I want. Case in point, there was this guy at work I was totally crushing on, I approached him and he seemed interested, we exchanged numbers and texts here and there..he insisted that we meet up sometime, but...nothing since then, he has not even attempted to get in touch with me, and basically I confessed I was smitten with him, I feel like a loser about the whole thing.

I just don't know what to do. Sometimes I feel crused, sometimes I feel like the universe feels I'm not derserving of love, or maybe I am doing something wrong, I feel like I've tried so many things to put myself out there and have love find me...but alas, nothing. I don't want to one of those women who feel go through the rest of their life being wronged by love, that's my biggest fear. What's also frusterating is that my horoscopes have been talking me finding "the one" yadda yadda yadda...ugh.

I feel so confused, and frusterated.

However, life is 50% fate and 50% our own choices. Even if fate is uncooperative with you, you still have that other 50%. You can't make a person magically appear out of nowhere, but you can choose to move forward in your life and do what makes you happy. Happiness has to come from within.

To use a frivolous analogy that just popped into my head: you're not like a macaroni art project that needs a few more pieces or glitter or something. You're already 'completed'. Sure, glitter would be awesome, but you're still complete and still art even without it. So, my point is that, even without a partner and family, you still are complete and you still have so much that you can do with your life. You're not some "unfinished" mess. People can complement us, and add to happiness, but they can't create it out of thin air--it's something within our own selves, and doesn't come from external sources.

I would also say that this may be a good time to be absolutely sure that you REALLY want those things. There's the old saying--"be careful what you wish for, because you might get it". Are you really sure in your heart that this is the right time? I'm not trying to discourage you from pursuing your goal, but my point in mentioning it is that sometimes, we might want the right thing, but not at the right time. Maybe it is in the cards for you, but just not right now, not this second.

This might be a really great time for exploration, for doing things that you want to do--things that maybe you couldn't or wouldn't do if you were married or had kids.
