I'm not sure how to phrase this, but how come if, say someone's moon conjuncts my pluto, and natally, my pluto squares my venus/mars/jupiter, their moon doesn't square my venus/mars/jupiter?

generally speaking, how would aspects like that (not like in that hypotheticaly situation, but just in general), when there's indirect contact between two people's planets manifest?

I hope this makes sense cus I'm confused just rereding it.

Could be that they're too far apart for a major aspect. If they're just in the same sign, or opp sign, or sq sign, etc. there will be an energy exchange, just not a strong one.

In Synastry Astrology, think of planets always moving in a downward progression. These planets will always be the other person's natal planets.

This is a simple sample of how a person's natal planets are aspected in Synastry Astrology:

Think of your natal planet aspects. Whatever they are, it will be the faster planet making aspect to the slower planets. So in this case it will be VE making aspects to the natal planets of MR, JP, and P. Now, lets position the planets.

Think of a staircase that has eleven stairs. This staircase represents your natal planet VE. From the top of the stairs, go down to the sixth stair and stop. This is the exact conjunction point of zero degrees to your natal planet of VE. (The top of the staircase would be considered as a negative five degrees and at the bottom of the stairs would be considered a positive five degrees.) Next, step down to the seventh stair (a positive one degree) and stop, this is where your MR would be located - relative to VE. Step down to the eighth step (a positive two degrees) and stop, this is where your natal JP is located - relative to your natal VE. And last, step all the way down to the last step - the eleventh step and stop (this would represent a positive five degrees away from your VE). This is where your P is positioned relative to your natal VE. Your planets are now in position according to your natal aspects. Venus could be making trines and or squares to your natal MR, JP and, P.

Now, imagine there is a handrail on the right hand side of the staircase. Go back to the top of the stairs and stop. Place your right hand on the handrail at the top of the staircase - your hand on that rail represents any person's planet other than your own. We want to see how that person's planet will aspect your natal planets and aspects, according to Synastry Astrology.

Lets say your hand, on the handrail represents the other person's MR. From the top of the stairs take two steps down (count the first step down as one) while sliding your hand down the handrail and stop. This position represents a negative three degrees from your natal VE. The other person's MR is conjunct your VE by a negative three degrees.

Take three more steps down - while sliding your hand down the rail, stop on the third step. This should be your natal VE position at zero degrees. The other person's MR is conjunct your VE at zero degrees. Now, if you take one more step down (the seventh step down) and stop, the other person's MR will now be in aspect with your natal MR too. So, if your natal VE was in aspect with your natal MR at this position (no matter which aspect), then the other person's MR conjunct your natal VE would make the same aspect to your other natal planets as your natal VE would. Continue down the last half of the staircase, each new stopping point will be energized by the other person's MR (on the handrail) - and the energy that corresponds with the aspects will affect the other person's MR. And that person's MR will affect the natal planets - according to the aspects involved.

This is a simplified version of how some planets make Synastry aspect to one planet while not aspecting other planets in close proximity.
