According to the article, they appear to have viewed transitions like 12/21/2012 the same way western astrologers view Ages.

There is a direct link in this article, to the discovery documentation. Enjoy!

Apparently, the Mayans didn't count leap years or something, so the 2012 thing should have happened a year or two ago. Is that true? I never looked into it, lol.

my intuition tells me that it doesn't matter if they counted leap years or whatever, because their calculations are based on planetary and celestial alignments.

Which makes sense! I thought maybe it was relevant, but I hadn't thought of that!

That article is interesting. I never believed the world was going to end in 2012.

I am of a similar mind, though I was interested in investigating what Mayan astrology was all about. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into it. Fortunately I researched enough to understand the astronomical event which is causing such a buzz. The Mayans were phenomenal astronomers and it is quite exciting to be alive through the transition between long counts. Only a small number of humans (in comparison to all the humans who may ever live) can say they were present for one of these transitions. Between this and living through the transition of an Astrological Age, all 7 billion of us are extra fortunate. =D

LOL! I knew that already. I always said to people that the End isnt coming in December but they didnt believe me. My psychic abilities dont let be wrong. I can sense danger and I KNOW when something bad will happen. This is not the case. The End isnt something easy to predict or seen or whatever. Math or whatever the mayans did cannot predict such things. Nostradamus tried to do prophecies. Did the End come in 2000? No. So he was wrong. I am not. I am never wrong so people can stay chill. There is no Apocalipse. PS: Did I ever mention how funny seemed to me that movie Hollywood made in 2009? John Cusack was hilarious. I honestly don't understand why people think the Apocalipse will come through a natural phenomenon like Earthquake. Its absurd. The End is something UNPREDICTIBLE therefore cannot come in PREDICTIBLE ways.
