For ease of understanding, just consider Pluto to be the Planet of Higher Self Expression for Self Transformation, and Uranus to be the surprising agent of revolution through either serendipity or downright sabotage. Early 1930s:
Here we had Pluto in Cancer [Sign of Financial Security] and Uranus in Aries [Sign of Risky Entrepreneurial Businesses/Stocks]. No surprise, this was the period of the Great Depression where all stocks crashed after a wave of over-speculation and greed.
1870s:
Pluto in Taurus [Sign of Real Estate, Creature Comforts] and Uranus in Leo [Sign of Self Attention, Individual Fame].
Strangely, we had an international economic crisis in this period. There was huge expansion of land under official [winning] government where Native Americans lost out in USA and many third world countries lost out to British Colonialism.
1820s:
Pluto in Pisces and Uranus in Sagittarius.
Yet again, a period of economic panic though not like the Great Depression. The Signs are more into Spirituality and Truth Seeking.
And thus, the Second Great Awakening gathered full steam in this period, with plenty of small churches, denominations and revivalist congregations being formed in the United States. Millions were enrolled.
In India, the seeds of religious reform in priestly Hinduism after centuries of stagnation were sowed by Raja Ram Mohan Roy exactly in this Pluto-Uranus square period.
Egypt saw a new Albanian Sultan and this turned out to be the period where the now famous Egyptian Cotton was introduced. Modernization of Egypt became inevitable.
Greece also liberated Herself from the Ottomans.
Revolutionary Developments in Latin America enabled countries like Peru and Bolivia to get independence.
In terms of discoveries, Antarctica is discovered during this square aspect.
1755-1758:
Pluto in Sagittarius and Uranus in Pisces.
There were the usual wars [7 years war, Carnatic Wars and the great Battle of Plassey in India].
Surprise events include a book published [Sagittarius Energy], of poems [Pisces?] by America's first Black College Graduate:
Francis Williams. This is definitely Uranus revolutionary ideals at play.
And the greatest musical prodigy Mozart was born in the year 1756.
1676-79:
Pluto in Cancer and Uranus in Aries, just like the 1930s.
The first Medical Publication was delivered in America, on the topic of smallpox.
Lady Godiva rode naked to protest taxes. Probably the first incident of streaking?
Elena Piscopia becomes the first woman ever to be awarded a doctorate.
This aspect was kind to France as the Treaties of Nijmegen ended most hostilities of other nations with the French. So this aspect need not always mean war or recession
So what can we expect this time round?
Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries.
We have already suffered some effects of financial crisis a couple of years earlier. Recovery has been slow.
Big corporations are getting hit with scandals. Many Start ups and "Guerilla" Companies are succeeding.
Seismic Activity is intense [Capricorn does figure heavily in Eart5hquakes].
We have seen democratic revolutions in the Arab Street, and at the same time many tragic assassinations because of organizations like ISI of Pakistan and sabotage because of the usual rogue suspects within MI6, Mossad and CIA who need a warring world to justify their existence.
The biggest missing factor has been a powerful Scientific Discovery or a powerful new invention. Since Capricorn rules the orthodox traditions, the discovery should break all traditional modes of thought.
I predict we will either see Evidence of DNA in Exosolar Planets or there will be anomalous discoveries about Human DNA or even Human Consciousness. There will most likely be a 9 level tremor before this aspect veers off. And surprising changes in governments or policies across the world are certain as establishment favorites bite the dust. "Pirate Parties" may win more seats, ethnic minorities may win more seats in all nations.
Lets see
