YTA,there are several "astrology schools" applying different methods, yes.
There are certain "rules" though, the most important being:
1. The picture of the sky at any given moment reflects life on earth or a personality born in that moment.
Your horoscope is a snapshot of the sky as it was EXACTLY at the moment of your birth, not two minutes later, not two minutes prior.
Which is why I don`t do "cusps". I used to do them with housess, but lately came to the conclusion that probably this is not fitting with that rule I mentioned.
The zodiac depicts the way of the Sun around earth (of course we know that this is not true; the earth moves around the Sun; but astrology always looks from the perspective of earth as a "constant").
There are only two housesystems I take into consideration:
1. equal system, beginning with the ASC
2. Placidus
I am using Placidus for two reasons:
1. like the zodiac itself represents the motion of the Sun around earth in a YEAR, the Placidus housesystem represents the solar motion in a DAY, totally dependent on this one moment you have been born, the beginning of YOUR world.
The second reason is that i have only been able to come to consistent results with rulerships, using Placidus houses (which is not a good argument at all, as it is resting too much on subjective perception).
Then, another thing important to remember about astrology is that it is really a reflection of observing the sky.
Especially Sun and Moon and ecclipse.
These things together indicate that:
Sun, Moon, nodal axis, angles and houses are the most important things, the framework of astrology.
I would not underestimate the other planets or asteroids though, but the ones I mentioned are the frame, the backbone, the others fill the picture with colour, especially the asteroid.
On the cusp of houses, there are two things I am thinking about.
First of all the houses are moving "backwards".
Example.
Sun on DESC/ 7th house at 6 p.m
An hour later it is already in 6th house.
Which means if a planet is one degree BEFORE 7th house cusp/ DESC, it is actually on its motion AWAY from that house, deeper into the 6th house (unless it is retrograde), which speaks against the theory of allowing housecusps.
On the other hand planets on the main angles, ASC; IC, DESC; MC are influencing tzhese angles even from the 6th, 12th, 3rd, 9th house, as they are conjunct.
It seems that planets very well can make ASPECTS with the main housecusps (maybe only the conjunction really counts contrary to popular belief, but I am not sure about that).
Now if a planet is in 6th house, but conjunct DESC, it probably is not its sort of placement in 7th huose itself that someone picks up on, but the fact that it is conjunct teh cusp.
Or in my case. Uranus is on 1°21 Scorpio, tightly conjunct my 11th house cusp on 1°35 Scorpio, which is VERY close, but as I said.
An hour after my birth Uranus would already have been about 13-14 degrees away from 11th house cusp and deep in the 10th house (not the 11th).
This would even be more pronounced with ASC signs Aquarius, Pisces or Aries, as they are quickly ascending signs (meaning there is only about one hour a aday at my location, that the ASC could be in these signs, while the ASC signs of Cancer or Leo take a lot longer).
But my Uranus is still conjunct my 11th house cusp and I think I definitely feel that as well, influencing my 11th house.
Interesting though, the 10th house is a parental house (and astrologers discuss a lot if it is the mother or father, well, I just say, parents).
My 10th house has Pluto, associated with Scorpio and Uranus associated with Aquarius
and my Mom happens to be a Scorpio and my ad is an Aquarius (so Uranus in 10th makes sense here I think).
The general, or natural ruler of the 10th house is Saturn, as in the natural horoscope (starting with 00 Aries as 1st house cusp) has Capricorn on the 10th house, which is ruled by Saturn.
But everyone has their own ASC and therefore start of the cycle.
In my case it is Sagittarius with Libra on MC or 10th house cusp; since Venus is the natural ruler of Libra, it is also my personal 10th house ruler.
If your MC is Sagittarius, Jupiter is your MC-ruler.
Sitting in Aries in the 2nd house indicates that your "calling" in a worldly sense it is to create security, probably earn a lot of money to guarantee that security; usually that is being made through the profession you have. We know that your goal (one MC-symbolism) is to earn A LOT OF it, because Jupiter always does things in a GREAT STYLE.
Him being in Aries shwos that you are a bit a n " Alpha male" about it, to get to this goal you can be quite assertive (well you have to be in the business I think).
Probably it is also a means to enhance the social status and SHOW it, Jupiter and Aries are not really all that introverted and keeping things hidden.
There is also a very earthy grounded feel to this connection, as the 10th and 2nd house are both earth houses. A lot of your ambition probably is about the physical manifestation of feeling secure and also providing security for your family (maintaining a certain status is of utmost importance).
The ruler of 10th house in 12th house would be totally different. People witht hat usually couldn´t care less about money or earthly goods (unless other aspects factor into this of course).
