Do you ever see and/or treat someone like a certain sign even though their actual sun sign is completely different? Does it work? It does for me so I wanted to hear other's opinions. For instance, I know a guy who's an Aquarius. You guys know him too or you should because I feel like I talk about him incessantly on here! :joking: Anyway, he's got Mars in Scorpio. The more I observe him and think, the more Scorpio he seems. It's just that I think the energy is weakened because he's not an actual SUN in Scorpio. I don't know how his Mars is aspected, I take his chart aspects with a grain of salt because of not knowing the birth time but I only used him as an example for my question anyway. IP: Logged |

Totally. It happens to me all the time, I actually have to remind myself of people's Sun signs! It depends on the person, usually I can see their Moon so clearly that I tend to treat them/view them according to their Moon placement. Especially Fire Moons, hard to miss them! Sometimes it's the Venus sign, but not as often though. Like there's one girl I know, she's a Sag with Moon in Libra. Venus is in Aqua conjunct Saturn & Venus is her chart ruler and she seems so Aqua to me! Not sure about Mars, maybe if it is heavily aspected and I think it's more evident in men.

Not really. The sun is the strongest and most important placement, and even given other influences, I can still see it shining through.I would say that I tend to compartmentalize more than treat anyone like a different sign. That is, in relationships, I can pick up on someone's Venus sign, and tend to approach them in that way on those matters, but not on everything. Emotional things, I can look at the moon. I'd say that each placement would express its energy in the matters to which it's connected, and that energy comes through, but the sun sign energy also colors it. To use an analogy, it's like cooking. The basic flavor of a dish would be like the sun sign, and the planets/positions would be the spices or seasonings that give it flavor. The spices stand out, and add character to the dish, but the base is never diluted completely, if that makes sense. Example: if the sun was, say, a basic yellow cake, a moon position might be like chocolate frosting. You can obviously taste the chocolate, but you also get the yellow cake underneath, too, even if the chocolate is a strong flavor. The yellow cake part doesn't go away completely, even if the chocolate takes center stage. I hope that makes sense. IP: Logged |

Both my children are Pisces, but one has her moon conjunct Asc in Scorpio, the other has her moon conjunct Asc in Aries. They couldn't be more different. I see myself as having a Scorpio child and an Aries child. I ALWAYS forget that theyr'e both Pisces.IP: Logged |

A lot of the time due to being extremely Scorpionic I am mistaken for the sign Scorpio. There are pros and serious cons to feeling like one sign over another due to your birth chart. My NN is Scorpio. The only minor aspects my Sun receives are from Pluto and Mars in the 8th, otherwise it's un-aspected. I have all my planets in Scorpio except Mars, but hey, it's in the 8th so I couldn't even escape the influence there, LOL. Not that I'm complaining! I like being mistaken for Scorpio. I find I have a difficult time with being a Libra sun since it doesn't always mesh with my 'inner' self. All those personal planets in water + other influences make me feel Scorpio on the inside, but my Sun un-aspected in the 10th is like a friction grinding against it. My inner and outer images do not always match up which is quite frustrating. So although those closest to me - key word closest - who I get to know better over time have seen me more as Scorpio it is VERY difficult to integrate my inner Scorpio self with my outer Libra self. It can make make have a weird attitude sometimes, honestly. Of seeming classy and polite but really, all tough and attitude underneath with that threatening to explode out! :S ------------------ "Perfect love casts out fear." -Anthony de Mello IP: Logged |

Hmmm this makes me think of my Mars in the 12th (which I was told gives more 'Piscean' characteristics) conjunct my ASC, obv. in my 1st house. So maybe people see me as Piscean-Arian? My NN is in Pisces too. Moon conjunct ASC makes me think of someone who would be good in social politics for whatever reason. Esp. if her ASC is in Scorpio.

I don't think people can pretend to be a sign. If someone doesn't seem to match their sun sign, what you see may be the ascendant showing.I wish I could pretend to be a sign... IP: Logged |

Totally agree!! I have a sag. sun. When I tell people that I'm a sagittarius they don't believe me because I don't act like one. I guess I act more like my ascendant. IP: Logged |

Outside of my question, I disagree. Also yes it may be their ascendant but that's only one of many options. Usually I will label someone a sign (in my head) and find out their real birthday later. I may have gotten their sun sign wrong but the sign I did guess will be in one of their personal planets, usually their Moon, Venus, or Mars. IP: Logged |

^^ In that case, you're picking up other aspects of their personality, but they are not pretending to be a sign. I guess I have issues with the title of your thread. IP: Logged |
