So, I'm going to try and word my post so as not to make this the typical boring "My boss sucks" rant here and provide as much descriptive insight as I can.

I work in publishing as a press liaison, which is generally speaking a very brash and fast-paced business. I've got two bosses, one of them a Sagittarius, who is my immediate boss, and one who's everybody's boss, an Aquarius. Both are female, and if it's relevant, constantly being challenged about their competence.

My Sagittarius boss is much older and doesn't shun technology so much as not have a clue how to utilize. Perhaps her one strong suit is being very clever at talking up our firm to clients. Beyond that, she often dodges out of work early or fails to show up altogether (of course, always covering for herself with some kind of urgent excuse). She almost totally fails at taking care of work on the computer, whether it be communication through email or organizing information in any way. She is almost universally despised at the office, does not work well with others, is not at all detail-oriented, and prone to violent verbal outbursts which she swiftly forgets about but which scar the other people involved. For all her numerous absences and intrapersonal problems, she's guarded her position well for over 20 years. Many people have tried (and are still trying) to get rid of her, with only a few HR scuffles to call a victory.

My Aquarius boss has a tendency to micro-manage people who don't really need it and come across as generally insecure as to how much other people like her. She's older as well, but is always looking to integrate technology in some way to all of our procedures. She has much vision when it comes to what she'd like the firm to look like in the future and is even bubbly with ideas...to the point of "ADHD"-style leadership. Her main failings are that she's short on personal charisma and "people-sense," to the point where her job is actually on the line. These are hardly grievous crimes but somehow it is she whose position is in the most jeopardy. At the moment, her job is literally up for grabs and other candidates are being interviewed for the position. She just has a way of (I think unintentionally) attracting people's resentment. Most of my co-workers are convinced she doesn't care about anyone who works under her.

So, anyone else care to comment upon or contribute their own stories of bizarre power hierarchies playing out at their work?

@luisbunuel -- so what exactly is my answer? or the question for that matter? lol.

I guess I started this topic really to draw a parallel between my two bosses and wonder aloud why it is the Aquarius who is, relatively speaking, worse off...?

Your Sag boss sounds like a highly unstable person, who will start a bunch of drama if she's fired. The Aquarius sounds more hardworking and quiet, so her job is up for grabs.

In the absence of other information, we would have to assume that the Sag boss has many devious Capricorn placements which enable her to stay at the top of the heap without knowing much about the job and what it entails.

My Sagittarius boss was born on November 22. I couldn't find out any more than that.

I was gonna hold out for more information but I wasn't able to dig anything more up --about Aquarius women in any position of power looked upon rather uncharitably and sort of helpless to do anything about it. A good example (god help me) that I thought of is Paris Hilton. Whatever you might think of her, I mean come on, there are plenty of rich women out there who basically do naught but flaunt their wealth. She is simply not extraordinary on this count yet manages to stand out for vilification...I dunno, just a thought.

Ah, the possibility of Capricorn placements! Thank you.

I'm pretty picky about who I work for and the work that I'm assigned. In keeping with my nodal placement in the 6th, the quality of my work projects is always going to matter the most to me. My biggest critique with management around here is that they focus much more on employees' personalities vs. the work actually being done. Sigh.

Hi Extant_Pisces. How're things at work?

I read on the other Pluto thread that yours is in the 11th house. I think I have a 11th house Pluto transit imminent in the next few weeks.

Hi luisbunuel, it's funny that you ask because pretty soon after I posted that thread I decided it's impossible for me to stay at this job, probably in publishing in general. I realized I'd like to go back to social research and have already applied to a position in this field (fingers crossed!)

Additionally it's become clear to me that I want to go back to school for a doctorate in cultural sociology. Perhaps I could return to publishing at that point, fostering sociological research. I don't regret taking this job and the experiences I've had are extremely valuable to me. It's just that this belief that I've outgrown this position is really strong, only strengthened by seeing old friends from school this past holiday weekend. They kept reiterating to me that to be happier I needed to find friends with similar aims/interests. I just began thinking about ALL the things in my life that don't support the goals I have for myself anymore.

Would you please share with me how I can tell when the next Pluto transit for me occurs?

Wow, just found this transit calculator and looked up my upcoming Pluto transits:

(from middle February to beginning of June)

Pluto transiting sextile natal Sun
This is a very important transit, which can transform us both deeply and positively. If in the past we have faced a difficult period, we now feel regenerated, stronger and conscious of our strength to overcome any challenge. Doubts disappear, leavin more room for a new powerful creative energy. Our relationship with those in positions of authority improves and we can obtain support or recommendations, since we prove to be intelligent, with convincing and winning ideas. When Pluto sextiles our Sun, objectives, goals, and wishes often change, focusing choices and opportunities towards these new directions. It can be about positive meetings, useful events, opportunities that arise and can be taken quite easily thanks to good timing. Our personal authority increases and we demonstrate our value in interacting with others, in social relationships or in teamwork.

I get my charts off the Astrodienst site.

Under 'Free horoscopes' - you can select the 'natal chart with transits' option.

I've checked your site too. It offers a lot of explanation which astrodienst does not. Thank you.

Also, it makes sense that people with a 11th house Pluto would not join Facebook.

11th house Pluto = control over friendships and groups. Naturally, you don't want them spilling your secrets, even accidentally.

LOL!

Of all the reasons I have for not joining, I never thought that was one! But hey, it's a reasonable explanation...

I hate how personality wins over hard work most of the time in the workplace, i am a capricorn northnode conjunct saturn in the twelfth house. I go into work everyday and do my job,i do not try to suck up to the bosses or make friends,i just do my job. But the people who are social butterflies and dont do nearly as much get all the praise. I dont get any acknowledgement unless the boss is criticizing me for a mistake i have made.

Thanks for adding your experience, aquaguy91.

That's another reason I dislike my current work environment. It's all about appearances, and no one cares about the quality of work you perform, how reliable you are, or new ideas. Everybody's been here for 10+ years and talking about retirement constantly. There;s nothing to believe in. It's stultifying.
