I remembered yesterday that WilsonTC over at the astrologyweekly forums told me a long time ago that pluto meant your unwillingness to surrender or give up control in your life to gain an equal relationship with others. He was referring to pluto in my own natal chart at the time and how I was choosing to handle things, but I am now thinking about how that description applies to pluto in compatibility,I was thinking about it and how much that makes sense for all my experiences with pluto squares, whether it be in synastry or composite. It seems that there is strong chemistry but both people come on so strongly because of the intense feelings, that the gut reaction is to react in a way that's like "Ok, stop, weirdo. I don't like you that much." I've experienced a composite sun square pluto crush with at least 3 guys in the past year, and with every one of them, it was so intense that I wanted to run away. I think both of us did because we both came off so strong that we couldn't handle the intensity. One guy was super clingy with me, like to the point where everyone noticed he liked me and it grew uncomfortable for everyone involved. lol. Because of how incredibly obvious/intense he was about it. Another guy would act super shy around me but then randomly smile at me from across a table or open a door for me when I least expected it, in like a really grandiose, I'm obviously doing this because I like you, way. And another guy would stand around campus just staring at me in awe. Another guy added me on facebook and still chats me once in a while, even though we only exchanged a "hi." But our eye contact said more than enough when we did. I liked all of them back, but like I said, the interplay was so very uncomfortable and there were so many power struggles where we refused to surrender to the relationship, that it never happened. So, I was thinking, and I feel that's what pluto squares are really all about. Neither person wants to SURRENDER to the relationship, because it just feels too vulnerable, like you're losing control. If you think about it, Scorpio is about surrendering in love relationships and making the other person surrender, so it makes sense. Then, what I noticed is that with venus or moon trine pluto versus venus or moon square pluto, the trine feels slightly less intense, but that means that the two people wont react to each other in a way that is socially awkward and which they feel they cant control, and so they find it natural to surrender to the relationship. It flows smoothly. Slightly less intense, but still feels awesome What do you guys think? I'm sure everyone is as fascinated with pluto as I am ------------------ Imagination is intelligence having fun. —George Scialabba $3.50 ebay compatibility readings IP: Logged |

I get that. It becomes a bit push and pull I guess. Not my favorite position this vulnerability lol but maybe some people are worth it. I rarely get crushes tho. I don't think I'd be able to hold back if I really did feel that way for someone. IP: Logged |

RAS.. I totally agree... I have Natal Pluto in H7, so all of my relationships are Pluto themed.. I struggle when in relationships to maintain my own identity and my personal power.. I dont want to be the "girl" I need to be the other half of an equal part... I wont surrender my control of myself... I dont really want to control "him" but I wont be controlled either.. I want to be equals in the true sense of the word... 50/50 When I was married, I always helped out with house maintenance, painting building the entertainment center...etc etc He would help out with cooking and laundry and such... That really worked for me.. I couldnt do the "typical wife role" BUT!! and yes there is a but... What I have learned is that Pluto will keep nagging and pressuring you, UNTIL you do surrender... Someone or something will come along and change all of that... You will be forced to change your self, or suffer from it... I fought it and fought its been HeLLLL.. But now I realize its Ok to be the "girl" Being female is a beautiful thing.. . . . . . . But I havent forgotten I am woman, hear me roar IP: Logged |

Thank you for sharing Lioness! That was sooo interesting i love it Aquaguy, i know we've talked about this. haha. I hate it too :/ meh Sand, yep it sucks lol. I hate the vulnerability too lol but I kind of like it cuz it really does change you. It's powerful. But when isn't pluto? I know that you say it would be hard for you to hide it when u feel that intensely, and im sure for those guys I mentioned it was hard to hide it, and it was hard for me to hide it as well, but the thing is it's scary when actually thinking about surrendering to that person and actually being in a relationship with them because you feel so out of control. I'm specifically talking about composite sun square/opp pluto and venus square/opp pluto in synastry or composite here, by the way. IP: Logged |

Agh! Boy, are you guys all on target tonight!Yeah, looks like I may have blown a chance at a *huge* relationship, all due to the Pluto Thing. What you all have been mentioning, I was thinking about today. How I just can't seem to give in. I felt like he was holding on so tight and hard and way too soon. It scared the hell out of me. I had to bail. Now i don't know if there are any other chances left. Maybe, but I'll have to get this Pluto Thing a little more under control, and not get so hair-triggered about it. IP: Logged |

I have Venus square Pluto natally, and it does kind of disturb me how I like someone soo much, but I don't give in to playing mindgames or run away from the person, I have no problem admitting my feelings to someone I like, unfortunately that hasn't been my experience with others.IP: Logged |

I've got the same Natal placement. Damn it is hard. I found what you wrote comforting. Thanks Lioness!
