I've been in india this summer and its so amazing, my father is indian so I go every few years. His best friend sees a Vedic astrologer every month or so, since astrologer is apart of indian culture. So I wanted to go with him to get a reading, I met the astrologer and actually I imagined a wise old swami. He was normal guy and just had some ancient knowledge passed down through his family. He gave me a reading and answered all question about Vedic astrology, he actually read me like a book.
I was really comfortable with him and asked him If he could be my mentor of sorts. I learned something really cool
there are many different special ascendants or in Vedic astrology Langas. There is even a langa that is the signifactor of first impressions. Its called the aruhda langa. Whatever a persona you may be like, you will not to be perceived by others exactly as you are. The perceptions of other people may be different from what you are and the aruhda langa determines this.
Mine is in libra while my main ascendant is in cancer for both western and Vedic, he told I presented my self more like a libra while I actually hate talking to strangers and hate being in public places. My friends know this well, he told when people really get to know you the traits from your main ascendant comes out. For instance at parties random people come and talk to me and even ask to dance while I'm actually trying to find some quite corners...
Even you don't relate to vedic astrology at all, then maybe this does not even apply to you... it is a belief system after all

Okay so..
It says my ASC is Taurus and the Arudha Lagna is Pisces.Uh, not sure what to make of it! I have Gem rising in Western. They're right about my health though! haha. If I appear like a Pisces on first impression, I guess that's cool. Thanks for sharing Geminisquared!

Eyes are Virgoan due the Moon in Virgo. In Vedic astrology I'm supposed to have LIBRA ASC. Does Vedic astrology knows how Libras ASC look like? No thanks. I stick with Western. Far more accurate. Do you like oriental? I know this place that serves it super good even though it's a fastfood thing...in fact, I think I might eat there today! It's in the mall I had mentioned.

So with this I am a Sag sun with Cancer rising.I can see how people would think of me that way, but maybe that's because I have Sag Venus/Neptune (only sign I have two planets in) and a Pisces moon.
