Astrology Made Easy with Keywords
By amiann | Published: June 1, 2012

The science of Astrology is one of blending. The hard part is all the many, many disparate parts in the chart that one has to blend. There are very few masters in Astrology because very few people will take the time to learn the basic things that each planet represents and the basic traits of each sign. If one can add Houses and Angles (Ascendent, Descendent, IC and MC) to the mix, one will have come out of the Beginner level where it seems as if signs and symbols are swimming in an unintelligible sea. I will try to help along the process by giving some key words. These key words hone down the nature of the planet. Only after the nature of each planet is honed down, can one begin to add and blend different parts of Astrology such as Signs and Houses. If you are a beginner, stick with it as Astrology yields her wisdom( and it is great) to those who will persist. There is a kind of heroes journey in Astrology, unlike anything I have ever studied except the Bible. It seems as if you have to earn your way to mastery, as if some Unseen Hand makes you prove you are worth the riches you will receive in terms of life wisdom. At any rate, I will try to hone in on the basic nature of each planet

The Sun–You most basic identity, you basic self( as YOU know yourself)

The Moon–Your innermost heart, your deepest, feeling self, the self you share when you are very, very safe with someone

Mercury–Your Mind, how you think, the nature of your thinking process, how you communicate

Venus–What you find beautiful and also, erotic

Mars–Your drive, how you go after your goals

Saturn—your struggles, your place of self doubt, your place where you will have to work very hard to achieve what you want

Jupiter–your place of ease, where you swagger, where you have self confidence, where you emit good vibes

Neptune–where you cannot see clearly, where you may be deceived

Uranus–where you are a rebel, where you don’t care if you are different

Pluto–your primal passions, your inner tiger, your inner passions which have no reason. They just are.

Chiron–the wound that will not heal in the sphere of the house in which it resides.

Mars–Your drive, how you go after your goals

Saturn—your struggles, your place of self doubt, your place where you will have to work very hard to achieve what you want

Jupiter–your place of ease, where you swagger, where you have self confidence, where you emit good vibes

My only difference of opinion here is regarding Saturn.
I would say that Saturn shows the way you work for what you want... and the things you are really strongly committed to. Without Saturn you don't normally succeed because you just can't be bothered working at it.

If you have some Jupiter happening - you might still get what you want through sheer luck... But if you lack both Jupiter and Saturn - odds are slim.

For instance - if a person wants to be a makeup artist... which is a Venusian thing... and they have no aspects from Venus to Jupiter or Saturn.... OR.... Venus in the 10th or Venus in aspect to MC (which are all Saturnian-ish in vibe)... it is unlikely they will have a successful career as a makeup artist.
Saturn can be a place where you are very confident working on things one step at a time and achieving a lot in a tried and tested way.
It is not necessarily a place where you are insecure, unless it is adversely aspected.

Often I look up to people with their Saturn in the same sign as my Sun sign because they seem like the old grandpa of that sign.... they know everything about that sign.. and they are very 'wise' when it comes to the lessons of that sign...
I feel the same way when I am the Saturn - and the Sun looks up to me.

.... And I would add to Neptune... that it represents that feeling of spiritual connectedness that we are all one. So maybe the placement of Neptune & aspects represents the way you connect with others - the way you reach out and form spiritual bonds with those around you.

Well, I am trying to do Keywords, so they have to be the crux of the planet, in as few words as possible. I would love to hear anyone's suggestions as I believe that no man is an island. I certainly am not. Ceri said that this was a Libra Asc. I think it is. At any rate, all suggestions as very appreciated!

I absolutely love key words, they break things down into neat organized sections while leaving room to expand.

Although, my idea of key words is a little different. Key words to me is a word or phrase that someone would say in a regular conversation that would point to a planet, sign or aspect.

So I saw the title, got excited, then got sad because it wasn't the same thing. But it's still cool, fun and informative.

Don't be sad, Sashar. Please, write out YOUR Key words. I am here to learn. I am not here to tell people things. I am here to exchange ideas, and most especially to learn and dialogue! I await yours. xx

In fact, I would love to see everyone's key words! If no one sees this here, I will start a new thread.
