I'm going on a date with a Cancer Sun who has Venus in Leo and Mars. I don't know his moon sign because I don't know his b day and I feel weird asking at this point. But I realized I'm really unfamiliar with Cancer men personally speaking, although I think I like them. I'm a Leo with Pisces Moon, after all. What are your experiences? IP: Logged |

hard shells but very sensitive cry babies underneath^^^yep I personally am already too sensitive, being a cancer also. I need someone who isnt gonna confirm all my fears, but reassure me against them. So I might be biased xD ------------------

I haven't had a good experience with one myself, but I won't bad mouth here as I have friends in relationships with Cancers, who are decent to my knowledge. And I haven't dated every Cancer in the world.They usually like being fussed over and mothered, if he's a strong Cancer (Cancer Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars...). They love strong, but very feminine women. They can also be surprisingly aggressive, but moody too. It's best to give them their space when they get like this, it is not easy to deal with this side of them. Their love is like a big, strong hug. They will nurture, adore, and protect you, provided you treat them well and they feel SECURE. Cuz if not...totally different story, and they feel threatened quite easily. Some have controlling tendencies and can be clingy depending on his natal aspects O.o All the Cancer men I've known were attracted to fire sign women. If he has Leo Venus and Mars, I think he will like a flashy, fiery type woman and he will be very romantic. Probably will like a lot of attention from his mate. But that's just a suggestion. Yeah I've also heard horror stories about Cancer men. That's why I'm a little hesitant. But I just got out of a relationship with a sour puss Taurus that got lazy with me and was really out of touch with his emotions. So it would be refreshing to date a romantic that adores me! I'm definitely a very fiery Leo, so I don't think there will be a problem with them not liking me or being attracted to me. IP: Logged |

I don't find my cancer friends overly possessive or jealous. I've seen them kick some a** if anyone is disrespectful to their really close friends, family & lady. Aw, well I think the Cancer could be better for you if you're more of the romantic type. lol, Cancer is ruled by the moon and emotions...so you never know what you'll get with them.
If you want, you can check his natal stuff whenever you get the chance, the moon sign is another indicator of how he'll express himself.
Otherwise good luck, I hope you enjoy yourself.

I'm in my 30's & so is every cancer person I know.
All I can suggest is go with an open mind & ask questions, watch his actions. If he does drugs or is an alcoholic then no 2nd dates. He'll be alot of work if he does those things. I'm talking addiction here not the occasional joint. Unless you're really not into that either. IP: Logged |

Cancer/Leo combination... works differently than a Leo sun/Cancer combination, in my experience the Cancer/Leo was WAY more easy to read than the Leo/Cancer (I know you're not even asking about Leo but I'm recollecting lol) Cancer with Mars in Leo, VERY physical and touchy feely and if they like you they will basically try to get you to do it on the first date lol! Definitely big babies. Not big talkers but they like people watching.

My friend has the exact same placements in his chart, and he's very loyal to the girls he dates despite the fact that he gets constant attention.

I do agree with AriesDragon. I mean, I don't think cancers are jealous or possessive at all. That might be more of a taurus, scorpio, or capricorn trait. Oh lord, capricorns. lol. And I do agree that cancers are definitely harmless. Even the crabby ones I felt were at least just trying to be genuine people. Even ones who were liars just seemed to be terribly insecure, and I still felt they were trying to be good people at heart. The guys are absolutely wonderful. Very accommodating and easy to get along with, and soothing/calming with a good sense of humor (oh lord, cancer guys are funny haha. dunno about the girls). I agree that they are tough on the outside, and can be tough when need be as all cancers can, but what I'm saying is don't be surprised when you find out they're terribly sensitive underneath their shell because it's there. I dated a cancer guy and have had close cancer guy friends.To what moonfish said, yeah, I have leo venus, moon and mars and I agree with what everyone described about this placement. And yeah I'm very loyal though I like a lot of attention in general. I think cancers are one of the most loyal people around. I always trust my cancer friends. ------------------

I seem to have a soft spot for Cancers in general, but especially with dating, and they can seem complicated but they’re not too hard to figure out really lol. You can’t be as straight forward or aggressive with them as with other signs. Sexually yes, emotionally no. Even if they let you see past their shell they still want to know it’s there if they want to use it (which they will when they feel the need) so you have to let them come to you on their own time which can be frustrating if you’re used to being more direct. They’ll sometimes do or say things to try to make you jealous, but this is usually just a test or ploy for attention so if you can tolerate that and not always take their moods at face value then it can work out.. They might play games but if they're interested it's usually to find out if you're really trustworthy. They can be very sweet and romantic but they don’t want to be seen that way so it’s best to thank them but don’t draw too much attention to it. From my experience I would say it’s very possible for young cancer guys to be master manipulators, but I think ultimately they want the security of a good relationship and will cut out their antics for the right person… But yea as ariesdragon said just pay attention to the warning signs if there are any. I think his Venus being in Leo should add some stability though, it’s the cancer guys with Venus in Gemini that you really have to keep an eye on lol

My experience of Cancer men my age (late 20-something) is they are either laid back, hospitable, and somewhat protective friends or total Casanovas who accept nothing less than an informal engagement. IP: Logged |
