Hi, so I've updated the descriptions in my blog in the Moon sign profiles where it speaks of the typical differences between how men and women of a certain Moon sign express and manifest their Moon's energy. Although I don't believe in strict gender roles, I do see how men and women express their signs a bit differently, especially when it comes to the Moon.

I do think that women tend to BE their Moon's energy while men SEEK that Moon's energy in their environment. For example, I've observed that Moon in Scorpio men are much more detective-like and probing. We tend to be hungrier for mystery and dark truths (Scorpio). The women, I've noticed, tend to less interested in exploring that dark truth because they embody it. Scorpio Moon women are that eternal mystery, while Scorpio Moon men are eternally interested in mystery.

However, both are strong expressions of Scorpio and its themes. Thus, I don't believe that this men totally disown and ignore this energy. I'd rather like to think that there is a male expression and a female expression to the Moon sign. The male expression exerts this energy onto the environment while the female expression receptively becomes that energy.

Anyways, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Moon in Leo

Leo Moon males are most attracted to those who exude a deep love for life. Lifeless souls leave him feeling empty and cold, while those who are passionate and colorful light his own soul on fire. He looks at the world in a childlike sense of wonderment and strives to live it to its fullest and grandest. Leo Moon woman is the star while Leo Moon man yearns for that star in his life. Love is what makes his world go round and he craves something very special to share his life with.

Fantastic article about True Blood. I just saw the first season but your insight was wonderful. Interesting about male and female expressions of the moon. I can't say, as I never thought about it. I am a Cancer moon and I really enjoy this moon sign. I think it is one of the biggest blessings in my chart. It is conjunct the MC. People, often, ask me why I am not a harder person, emotionally. I really can't be. This moon sign is very tender.

These are some quotes from the movie Hugo that I think describe Capricorn Moon to a T. I have this Moon sign.

quote:
“Sometimes I come up here at night...just to look at the city. I like to imagine that the world is one big machine. You know, machines never have any extra parts. They have the exact number and type of parts they need. So I figure if the entire world is a big machine, I have to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason, too.”

quote:
“Maybe that's why a broken machine always makes me a little sad, because it isn't able to do what it was meant to do...Maybe it's the same with people," Hugo continued. "If you lose your purpose...it's like your broken.”

_________________

In your interpretation, you said:

quote:
. A certain amount of achievement and success is also of the utmost importance. They need to be respected and seen as successful

sigh This goes SOOOOO much deeper. This is not about being seen as successful.
It is about doing your PART in the world... making use of your own talents and usefulness to play your role in this universe.

And if you don't do that - it feels like you *failed* the WHOLE world.

It is not about being "seen" as successful.. Venusian signs and maybe Leo are more concerned with appearances.
It is not about that for Capricorn, regardless of whatever people may imagine from the outside.

Capricorn wants to do their BEST with what they have - They do this for *everyone*... not for themselves, because it is a transpersonal sign.

Like the quote above - if they lose their purpose they feel broken... They feel like there is no *point* to their existence.. because they are not doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Maybe this is too difficult to explain. I hope it made sense.

Their persistent emotional distance can be mistaken as coldness and sometimes it is. But, it’s most likely fear and insecurity

In my case, it is skepticism. The only reason I would be very cold and detached towards someone, would be if I was skeptical of them.

This happens mainly when they seem to me like a person who is not trustworthy - either because they would happily backstab me at any time (with full knowledge of what they are doing)...... OR..... because they are just socially 'stupid' for lack of a better word.

"Stupid" - in the sense that - they don't really have any clue as to what they are doing (no means to their madness) & they are not very good judges of character, so they also have no clue as to what everyone else around them is doing...... I am wary of these people because they could cause me problems by pure accident, through sheer stupidity.
They do not take note of office politics, of psychological undercurrents, of social games... They are merrily oblivious to everything that goes on around them.

I can't find the article/entry...(I'm a moon in Capricorn by the way)

Nevermind I found it, reading now!

quote:
Men with the Moon in Capricorn tend to have much more of a 'social climber's spirit'. While the Capricorn Moon woman is the one at the top looked up to, the Capricorn Moon man seeks to align himself with those at the top. He's is the ultimate mover and shaker; a master at knowing just which friends to make and what deals to sign. Still, he may find success late in life as he suffers reversals of fortune at the hand of what he feels is a cold, hard world. He may isolate himself in times of trouble and has a tough time allowing himself to be cared for.

Mostly accurate, the italicised parts applying 100% to me!!

How can you use notions of fear and insecurity as underlying cause in relation to sign of Mars' exaltation?! #nosense >.<

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I think Capricorn Moon doesn't have to be materially or traditionally ambitious. But there will always be some goal they are striving for. There always has to be a purpose. For many lunar Capricorns, this can be work-related but it may also be personal or spiritual, depending on other chart factors.

I'd like to know more about Capricorn Moons but I'm not particularly close to any. My older sister is a lunar Capricorn and, well, she definitely fulfills that trait of being emotionally distant...

Thanks Ami! I've seen all four seasons but the first is probably my favorite. It's also the season when I think the characters most strongly showed the hypothetical placements I predicted for them (except for Eric, who wasn't in season one that much). But that show is probably my favorite one out there. You should watch more of it (if you liked the first season).

And a Cancer Moon conjunct MC? No wonder you come off as so sweet, even online. Don't change at all. The world needs warm, nurturing, tender personalities. My Moon is also conjunct my Midheaven, but its in Scorpio. It's not in my nature to project that much sweetness but I do have a depth of caring for people. It's that just tough kind of nurturing that Scorpio does. Giving people strength and an honest kind of healing and perception. So, people still turn to me but the ones who don't know me are always a bit put off.

I loved your articles! My favorite one was about Black Swan. I totally agree that Natalie's Virgo Moon helped her channel Lily's perfectionism... wondering if Lily would have had Moon square ASC as well, if she had Natalie's placements. I don't know if Natalie has this but it strikes me as what Lily would have.

Also, so brilliant, your comment about why her instructor was so hard on her - Virgo Mars meets Virgo Moon seems like the ultimate pressure on the Moon person!

sweetscorpion,

Thanks! I totally agree with you. Although Natalie's character's name was Nina. Mila Kunis' character was Lily. But, I think Nat's Virgo Moon what made her give something so REAL to the performance because she can probably relate to those feelings on a deep level. I also think, with Mila, that her role of Lily was the only role she's played so far where I could totally see her expressing her Scorpio Moon: sensual and seductive, mysterious, kind of manipulative and shady (at least from Nina's perspective). And she was brilliant in it.

I've read an article saying that actors give some of their most memorable performances in roles that correlate with their Sun and/or Moon signs and I can see how that could be true.
