people tell me that i sound robotic. i don't even know what that's suppose to mean. perhaps a bit dull? emotionless? a stranger actually came up to me and asked if i wanted to narrate his films. he said that i had a very nice and unusual voice. i don't know if i should take him seriously, though. just something that stuck out in my experiences. i have a taurus asc. along with scorpio sun and mercury in saggittarius. i read somewhere that taurus risings tend to have pleasant voices, anyone agree or disagree? I know a scop guy, who has his mercury in saggittarius and man he does sound like a robot! but he tends to talk very fast and he stutters ( does this apply to you ? ) and yes taurians have a pleasant voice; soft and melodic. Taurus rules the throat and they say most singers are taurians or venus influenced ... IP: Logged |

Interesting topic! It does seem like Mercury ought to be the more prevalent sign here, being about communication and all, but what would I know? If Taurus rules the throat, then maybe it depends on where Venus (Taurus' ruler) lies in the chart? Or maybe it depends what house Taurus lies in? The Ascendent represents the body, right, so maybe the Ascendent has something to do with it too? I'm definitely a novice; I'm just guessing.I'm a mezzo-soprano, but I love to sing in the coluratura range (very high and clear). Having grown up in the north midwest USA, I kind of talk through my nose, and I really dislike this habit. Speaking voice is around A-B below middle C, on average. Timbre of my voice is moderately bright, nasal (as I already said), a bit of airiness + a bit of throatiness to it. Unless I'm feeling really comfortable and happy and/or dramatic, I tend to speak fairly monotone (another habit I dislike). I think my voice is kind of cold. It's hard to describe sound... Sun and Mercury are both in Capricorn. My Venus is in Aquarius. Cancer ascendant. Taurus intercepted in 11th. ------------------ I can help you figure out your dreams, and guide you in how to use them to transform your life. www.sleepingrealities.com Follow me on Facebook! facebook.com/sleepingrealities Follow my blog! http://sleepingrealities.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

My voice is deep and fairly neutral, but if I yell, it's even deeper and kinda... thundering, LOL (if I'm really upset & yell at my kids, that sound coupled with the "Scorpio stare" - since my Asc is in Scorpio - is more than enough to scare the two little Gemini twins, LOL). Even my laughter is deep and loud (which is kinda weird for a woman). I have Sun and Mercury in Leo. IP: Logged |

I haven't the slightest clue how to describe my voice. To my ears it's nerdy sounding. I've heard deadpan and articulate, but I've only heard the deadpan when I'm being sarcastic or joking about something. My voice is neither deep nor high, it's quiet but when I am angry or excited I can get LOUD. Jesus, I can get loud.Leo sun and Mercury IP: Logged |

Oh what you've noticed, I see I've noticed Virgo males with tendencies to soft tone as well. And I do believe mumbling is attributed to that axis as well.IP: Logged |
