Yes, this is common in terms of it predicting a higher chance of having children with the person. For example: I did a synastry reading for a couple with a 5th house moon overlay, and the woman had a child with the man very soon after meeting him.

i have this with my bf of over one year. my moon (capricorn) in his 5th house. his 5th house is ruled by capricorn and his venus in aquarius is positioned there too. i am very motherly towards him and he often says i remind him of his mother. i try to care for him, look out for him, warn him of stuff, guide him, etc. he has mentioned having kids with me but i am completely disinterested. so, the mothering is definitely true for us, but i'm not sold on the child aspect of it. i can see though how the mother/child roles might be there; the moon/planet is the mother and the house person is the child. despite being adults (37 and 46) we seem to have adpoted those roles and my bf is very often childlike with me only, which i find odd given his age. so, perhaps it might not mean having children together so much as acting out the roles of mother/child??

What if it's the man's Moon in the woman's 5th house?

His Moon is in my 5th house. He keeps saying he wants me to have a baby with him.
