Does anyone else have this problem? In public you are very reserved, people describe you as a "librarian" or "nerd"? But when they really, really, REALLY get to know you behind closed doors, they are freaked out?Well this would describe me. Its annoying because some guys will never notice me but it can make for a pleasant surprise for others. Also, I think this has to do with my 1st house full of Capricorn and alot of the other planets in Scorpio. IP: Logged |

Looking at the deg of your sun sign, i think we have the same birthday I'm pretty shy in public, I've gotten better as I got older, and I know how to assert myself when I need to. I totally understand where your coming from though. Alone you can think to yourself how people might react to you in certain situations but once it actually happens it's the exact opposite. People can get to know you in different ways, you just have to find out which way is best for you to express yourself ------------------ Scorpio sun, Pisces moon, and Pisces rising IP: Logged |

I can kinda relate. I have Saturn in the 1st H. I come off a bit reserved at first, but eventually I'm really chatty and happy go lucky like my Sag. Asc. IP: Logged |

I have the exact opposite problem lol My Cap stellium is in the 7th. I don't mind though. I very much relate to the boring librarian archetype deep down - having a Cap Moon. It makes me feel happy and comfortable. It is definitely a surprise for some though... who would imagine me to be more 'out there' - since my Sun is in Aries. The people who really take issue with this are men with an Aries Venus... for whatever reason. They truly get their panties in a knot over it. They like my Aries side - and when they get to know me better - they get frustrated that I'm not as dramatically-inclined as they first imagined. But good luck to them! LOL I like a lot of Scorpio/Capricorn influenced men who seem to appreciate the dichotomy in me. IP: Logged |

I can COMPLETELY relate. I have had people actually describe me as a "goody-two shoes church girl" when they first meet me just based off my demeanor and appearance and then when they get to know me, completely different story....Looking at your chart, I would say it's the Capricorn in your 1st as a possibility, but it could be deeper than that. The only planet in my 1st is my NN, other than that my ASC is also Sagittarius. I honestly think it's a Scorpio thing. IP: Logged |

Yeah I get what you are saying but its like no matter what I do I always feel like I come across as a Capricorn. Its like I have these walls that only intimacy can break down. IP: Logged |

Heh. If anything, it's the opposite. People are surprised that I can be a nerd who loves libraries. My Libran placements help me blend into many subcultures when I wish to (and my Leo ascendant helps me pull it off with panache as well) but my Sag placements can mean sooner or later my mouth gets me in trouble. For example, where I last lived I had some Alabama redneck neighbors (and Southerners tend to stick together in California even when we'd otherwise stick our noses up at each other) and I let them think I was a Texas redneck for the most part (eg, they probably thought I only listened to country music to hear me talk) as I see value in getting along with neighbors as much as possible and never did anything to freak them out (which my Sag Mars & Moon can make difficult, plus I strongly suspect my Mercury is on the Scorpio cusp right along with my Sun). Then one day I was visiting while they were watching King Kong (the one that played at cinemas a few years ago) and as King Kong started tearing up NYC one asked if this was based on real events (ie, did a giant gorilla really tear up NYC). I desperately held onto my tongue as my Mars Sag tried so hard to snark but as the others said they didn't know I lost control and said things like, "Snopes might know" and then "I think so because the Principia Discordia did say King Kong died for our sins." I got blank looks in return and while it's fair to say they couldn't have known what I'd say they were nevertheless surprised that I said that. One asked, "What's a princ...princ..pea?" I explained the Principia Discordia was the holy text of the Discordians, those who worship Eris/Discord, though it's actually more Taoism adapted to Western culture disguised as a joke religion. Asking about the goddess I gave the myth of the Golden Apple and how the Discordians have used to find wisdom and one said she sounded scary and at point my Sag energies combined with my Libran contrarian (gotta have balance) qualities to explain all the gods, even Jesus, have a dark side (I did say, "Maybe not Guanyin, but I probably just don't know enough about her"). At that point my cover was truly blown and I was greeted with the same kind of suspicion and awkward silence that I knew all too well in Texas when I said things like that (actually in Texas they might be reaching for the proverbial pitchforks but hey, as weird as I was we were still surrounded by Californians ). Btw, I recall the first time I realized I was a geek. I saw a YT vid creating a fight scene between Darth Vader and Dark Willow (of BtVS) and reading the comments I saw an argument on who would win and I chimed in about Force Lightning and why Vader couldn't use it and would thus be helpless before Dark Willow's command of it and right after I posted it shocked realization of what I just did coursed through me and I realized I was a geek. But after about 15 seconds I shrugged and figured it helped to make me more well rounded as a person. Btw, interesting ways one can take "behind closed doors." I grew up something of an outcast because I was so weird (which I've learned to hide as an adult, at least most of the time) and so that's the part I thought of trying to hide from others (that is, trying to be innocent by not being a heretic) while others here assume different things, like sex. Gotta say though, having known plenty of nerds and librarians that they can be very talkative and interesting behind closed doors as well, and plenty can have some pretty freaky sexual interests as well. Very interesting, with so much earth in your 7th you probably look for Capricorn types anyway! And I can see how Scorpio would appreciate the contrast, we love complicated people! IP: Logged |

Haha! I can toooootally RELATE because I have a Sag ascendant and Gemini Mars and mercury opposition mars, which means I am always holding my tongue. My teacher and I always got into friendly disputes because I always offered a second oppinion. Also, Sag is a natural teacher so I am not trying ever to be condescending but I do find myself 'preaching' or giving uninvited lectures. Yes, I am pretty unusual I think its uranus/neptune in the 1st along with all of the aspects they make. But yes never belonged to a clique in HighSchool ended up doing online to finish it up.
