If you have Jupiter in the 1st house and it's not afflicted, do others almost "expect" you to be cheerful all the time? Also, if you happen to say just one nice thing about yourself, you either get verbally accused of bragging, or someone gives you that look like you are? I'm curious.IP: Logged |

So, I take it you have Jupiter in the 1st? What sign? IP: Logged |

What's your Jupiter-Venus square like? How do you experience that? And what signs are they in?

Hello, 12th houser. I do have Jupiter in the 1st house, it is retrograde though, but I'm contributing to your post as it doesn't seem to have had many replies.Maybe there's a shortage of 1st house Jupiters around... Anyway, it is conjuct my Pisces ascendant as well. People always tell me that I look miserable, or serious, or that I seem to be elsewhere. It surprises people when I look cheerful so I can confidently say to you that no, nobody expects cheerfulness of me. IP: Logged |

PSJupiter is also opposite my sun and venus, and squaring my Neptune and Midheaven. I'm a very Jupiterian person according to the calculations on Astrodienst, but the Retrograde seems to have toned it down. IP: Logged |

That is interesting. I wonder if because your Jupiter is retrograde that others don't expect the cheerfulness from you as you claim. I used to get it a lot. Not that I don't like feeling happy/cheerful, but whenever it helped for me to be in a funk and others almost "demanded" that I cheer up, it seemed like it was more for their sake than for my well-being. hi I have jupiter in scorpio in the 1st house but I don't know what afflicted is (sorry! i'm still new about this astrology kind of thing) I rarely tell something about my self because I'm kinda shy (virgo sun) but when I do, I only do it to "burn" the other person belittling me..IP: Logged |

An 'afflicted' Jupiter is when the planet appears to be moving backwards (i.e. Retrograde in motion), although some astrologers believe that afflicted planets aren't a bad thing at all. You can find out from your chart on Astrodienst whether you have Rx next to any of your planets - that means they were moving backwards at the time of your birth. IP: Logged |

I thought afflicted simply meant badly aspected. Hmm

Well, it could include Rx. That's just a new one to me. I guess afflicted is a general term for a number of possibilities. IP: Logged |

12th houser, why are you called 12th houser? Is it because you have an overflowing 12th house, maybe?IP: Logged |
