-- would you include the ascendant?

i don't think that the ascendant should be ruled out. although, i can see why many people wouldn't consider it because it is a 'mask'. the way i see it, it reveals how a person naturally reacts to their environment. how they move about in the world. the qualities that are very much on display. if the rest of the angles (desc, IC, and MC) are important, i don't get why the ascendant should assume less importance.

-- would you consider planets that make tight aspects, but are in different signs?

for example, a grand trine that involves 2 water planets in late degrees and 1 fire planet in an early degree. would this still be considered a grand water trine, despite the fire planet?

also,
-- what is the amount of degrees you'd allow for a trine to be considered tight? less than 4 degrees?
