i think it's about constantly adjusting energies. in synastry, it keeps you on your toes. kind of like a dance.. one wrong move and someone gets stepped on. you don't mean to do it but it doesn't change the fact that you stepped on their toes and it hurt. now, what you do from there requires tactfulness, openness, and patience in order to get into the groove again. you can either apologize for stepping on their toes or blame them for whatever reason like having no coordination or being daft. something along those lines. that's how i understand it.in the natal, it's the same concept except that you need to find some way of connecting the styles of each planet without regarding one lesser than the other, despite how contradictory the styles of the energies are. I have Mars quincunx Pluto. It's a lovely aspect lemme tell ya. Makes me feel like a full on Scorpio at times! But from your saying it does make me look at it a bit differently. For one, it's like Mars and Pluto do the same thing but one is "above" and conscious and Pluto is below and maybe more subconscious, yeah? IP: Logged |

Well they are technically discordant energies. They are different elements and modalities so it really depends on self awareness from my observations. Some people compartmentalize the energies. Maybe they use one planet in one situation and the other for another situation but never as a team. Another analogy might be two people who speak different languages and in order to properly understand each other have to start by playing charades until they begin to 'get' what the other one wants. Magi astrology states that quincunx aspects work like Trine, unless Saturn is involved, in that case it's more like a square. I think there is some truth to that. In transit, whenever Saturn quincunx any of of my planets, I feel it as a negative impact. IP: Logged |

Also, as a real life example, my ex has Aries Sun quincunx Virgo Moon. Aries Sun wanted to be an Aries and when he was with his friends his Aries Sun took over and he was a dude. When he was around me, he was more so his Virgo Moon which is a Moon that tends to compartmentalize anyway. (There was a lot of compartmentalizing going on). It was like he could not be both at the same time and blend those energies and so I think he felt out of balance sometimes because of that. Aries wanted to have fun and be all fiery and his Moon wanted to stay on task and organize and be generally efficient. I think in terms of work and day to day he made it work but in a relationship it was more of a challenge because your Moon comes in to play a lot more with a partner than it does cleaning the house IP: Logged |
