hello wonderful people,
i have had a keen interest in astrology for several years now, and consider myself to be at an intermediate level. i have the basic astrology texts, but i am looking for a good read, that could also enhance my learning. do you guys have any suggestions?
i just finished reading Shakti Woman by Karen noble, and fell in love. this is kind of the area im looking for, feminism, art, history, anthropolgy, native american, spirituality etc.

i probably just made it very complicted :/

Astrology of Aspects by Sue Tompkins (I could be incorrect on the author name) is a good basic-intermediate read. It was also my 1st real astrology book, I have read a bunch of "birthday" astrology books like Secret Language of Birthdays.

I have recently skimmed through Martin Schulman's "Astrology of Sexuality" it is a small, intermediate level book but it is good information! I'd really recommend any of his books. He writes a lot on karma.
There are others but I am waiting for them to get in the mail I can't wait for others to share what books they've read.

I`d suggest Forrests books as well.

The language of relationships (or something like that) by Robert Blashke.

The books by Stephen Arroyo (the one about the elements, about natal astrology, and relationships and karmic cycles).

Karen Hamaker Zondags books on astrology including the one about houserulers are good, too.

Of course I have read some German books (started with Bernd A mertz - very classical, but gave me a good foundation in the meaning of signs and planets and how they work together; Michael Roscher, Christoph Weidner, Brigitte Hamman, but I don´tknow if they have been translated to English).

There are really lots of books I read on astrology, but out of the top of my head I think of this list:

1. Stephen Arroyo
- Astrology, Psychology and the four elements
- Chart interpretation handbook
- relationships and Life cycles

2. Steven Forrest
- The inner sky (natal chart)
- Skymates: Love, Sex and evolutionary astrology (synastry and composite)
- the changing sky (progressions)
- Yesterday`s sky (Karma)
- skymates II: the composite chart

3. Robert Blaschke
- Relationship Analysis

4. Karen Hamaker Zondag
- Aspects and Personality
- The House Connection: how to read the houses in an astrological chart
- Planetary symbolism in the horoscope

Well, these books are probably not what you are looking for, but from your interests I was wondering if you read "Women who run with the wolves"?

If I was forced to pick just ONE book, I would pick "Synastry" by Rod Suskin though.

Sextrology by Starsky and Cox is a really great read. It's not ALL about sex, either. They give some really good, detailed psychological profiles of the males and females of each sign. I found it very accurate in most ways, at least for me and the people I know and observe. It's one of my favorites, also for the reason that it's not heterosexist and includes gays and lesbians in the mix.

o thank you! i was just at barnes and noble and i saw that book. but i judged it by it's name, thinking it was only about sex. dont get me wrong.. sex is a fascinating subject to me, but i thought it might be a little frivolous and would only tell me something silly like "so and so sign loves having their toes tickled before love making" LOL! haha im kidding...kind of thanks so much, will definitely go back and check it out now

Liz Greene is pretty amazing. Astrology for Lovers by her is an awesome book. I like how it dispels some of the popular sign stereotypes and she describes the essence of every sign so vividly and clearly.
