From my blog...There still seems to be a lot of Sun sign or at least simplistic sign-based astrology out there that tends to perpetuate some half-truths or even outright falsehoods regarding people of the various zodiac signs and the general thrust of how they interact. I’ll do a brief rundown here of the basic modus operandi of each sign (which can be applied either to your sun sign or rising/asc sign) and how they interact or ‘sympathize’ with the opposite sign. These aren’t meant to be complete relational assessments or complete assessments of these pairings, but good examples of how balance and integration can take place. Aries & Libra Aries is a mode in which expresses self through direct energy with definite aims. In being a basic “I am” self-promoting mode of expression it supports ego to a large degree and tends to direct others who appear to be aimless and to pull others along in its wake. Libra types often don’t mind being pulled along and are there to soften, redirect, balance and bring in a notion of fairness to the headstrong Aries type. They interject fairness over bullying, which can be a distinct Aries tendency. For them relating IS the aim and many Aries types will find that after years of bossing them around it is actually the Libran that has done much if not most of the directing in a more subtle or carefully-negotiated way. Libra is the relating, balancing mode that sometimes gives joy in playing devil’s advocate for the kicks just to remind partner Aries to not be one-dimensional in thinking. Aries helps the Libra become more certain and clear about personal interests so that decisions can be made instead of forever weighed. The Aries type can press them with, “Yes I know that’s what they think, just tell me what YOU think!” The Aries type learns to see both sides and develop the ability to go back and forth in a fuller consideration. The Libra type learns to not care so much about what others might think and instead determine their self-interest, make a decision and go forward. Aries is hell bent on their mission. Libra shows this is relative to others and cannot be accomplished without cooperation, particularly with those closest to you. Continue reading: Zodiac types: how they compliment each other

I agreeee!!I have: venus aries Mars libra Saturn libra Venus in aries is a huge detriment... So unsophisticated when ruffled lol and mars in libra is a total drag. Can never decide which way to proceed lol agree to disagree but to agree to nothing lol I think this placement is worse than being stubborn. Being able to play devils advocate is not all its cracked up to be. Add my mercury in gemini and well the whole gang is here to add more fuel to the fire lol I do play peace maker alot. But iam usually the one who lights the small fire lol my gemini cant help but ask endless questions out of curiosity not malice... A fine line of playing devils advocate. My mind is a beautiful disaster lol Aries & Libra Aries is a mode in which expresses self through direct energy with definite aims. This lol Also. Really nice! I am glad you've explained this so well for those out there who don't really understand how opposites work. I love cafeastrology's north node explanations. It really describes the interplay of zodiac opposites for me. What does each opposite need to learn from each other at a deep soul level? It really explains it well, I think. http://cafeastrology.com/nodesofthemoon.html ------------------ "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." - Lao Tzu

Well done Kannon. I'm a Taurus. Many of the people I've been closest too have been Scorpios. It's usually a very easy comfortable relationship. Lots of learning between us too. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I think she meant to use the word complement, not compliment in her title. Lol. Haha that's funny, Scorpy.

OK, I blunered in my spelling. Yes, it is complement with an 'e' after the 'l' - not an 'i.' Good catch, and that explains the misunderstanding.Just for fun...How the zodiac types compliment each other: Aries: "Get outa my way, pretty boy." Taurus: "No, I don't want to, but you're so nice to ask with your sweet voice, and all." Gemini: "Wow, you talk even faster than me." Cancer: "Mmmm, you're as sweet as mama's home cooking." Leo: "You make me laugh. I love you within an inch of your life." Virgo: "You keep things so nicely placed, you're so organized and with it." Libra: "I'd like to flatter your gorgeous body all over." Scorpio: (thinking to self)"you'd like to kiss me with that pretty mouth of yours, don't you (asking silently and rhetorically), yes, you do." Sagittarius: "You are the most wondermous and generous person ever!" Capricorn: "Why, working with you is a pleasure, no work at all." Aquarius: "You can be one of my (long list of) best friends for-(disappearing leaving you wondering what for?)..." Pisces: (doe eyes staring, eyelashes possibly fluttering, that's all) BTW, I, Kannon am a 'he', complete with beard and everything. IP: Logged |

My Virgo ASC caught it immediately, but I had to teach myself to ignore such errors here or go nuts. I can correct it in your subject if you want me to. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Oh I caught it all right, but ... ... it would not have been complimentary to point out what was obviously a typo And you turned it around and made it into such a fun filled mistake that the thread is very warm and cheery now. IP: Logged |

Oh, yeah, then and than. Plus ensure and insure, you're and your (I really hate that one), their/they're/there, on to and onto, and the verbal mispronunciations like libary and nucular. There are others I can't think of right now. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you."
