I guess Moon should be relevant here. Also maybe if you have something in water signs? Whatever, tell everything you find relevant.

I don't usually cry while watching movies. I have cried in several, though. They aren't even similar, so i guess something in each of them has made a knock at the door of my heart.
I've cried in I Am Sam (father/daughter theme relevant here),

Banaras (also because of father/daughter interplay),

Just Like Heaven (no reason, i just cry whenever i watch it, and i've watched it a thousand times, lol)

And for some reason - in "Charmed". Haven't identified the reason.

Known crying movies like Notebook, A Walk To Remember, etc,etc.. left me with no emotions, i couldn't see where the crying part should be.

I'm Leo Moon, Virgo ASC, no planets in Pisces or Cancer, only water - Pluto in Scorpio. 4th house Uranus, Neptune - maybe that's why dad issues are making me cry, after all...

lol... too many capricorns in here

I always am on the VERGE of crying for anything it seems but i usually contain my tears and it huuuurrrtsss! But i refuse to cry in a movie theater or with anyone im watching the movie with. Alone though! omg i can't watch movies, i get too overwhelmed! If I don't want to cry then i try really hard not to get into the movie and distance myself from it and calling it stupid. I cried watching the last harry potter movie. I don't like foofy romance movies though, i've never seen the notebook. I did see the time travelers wife and i cried. Almost any good movie with some sad part i'll cry. When i was 6 i saw titanic a second time and at the movie theater i started tearing up in the beginning when people were waving to leave on the boat! cos i knew what was coming. So. I hate how movies get me too overwhelmed
Books too. Mostly books because i read more than i see movies.
i've got scorpio moon next to pluto annnd jupiter is in cancer? but i don't see how thats relevant. haha Oh and cap sun libra asc.

don`t laugh but I cried during the end monologue of Alfie. BIG TIME.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpEvo_M4Vuw

Actually I think Jude Law makes me cry.

Cause I also had a crying fit (I NEVEr have crying fits watching films, but I was close to get a nervous breakdown, a bit hysterical I fear, luckily I did not see it in the cinema) when and after Inman died in "Cold Mountain".

And crying at that final scene from "Wisdom of the crocodiles" - just because of the words: (and yes he dies):
"When I was a boy,

I fell out of a tree.

But I managed just

to grab a branch.

I hung there

for a long time, terrified.

The silence...

then the pain

in my arms...

and the blood pounding

in my ears.

and then, I fell.

I don't remember...

what happened

when I hit the ground.

All I can remember now...

is the agony

of holding on...

and the wonderful feeling...

Wonderful...

of letting go."

Or here:

Oh and in Moulin Rouge, I always cry.
I tell myself that I know what is going to happen, and I STILL cry everytime Ewan Mac Gregor breaks down crying. I canīt help it.

Other than that I cry easily when there is injustice portrayed, but these are more tears of anger I guess. Typical Sagittarius tears.

Oh last time I cried was on thursday btw.
Watching this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHV8-q23Lis

And I mean Alaric`s goodbye, not the end of the scene.
don`t know why, but it really made me cry.

Gosh, I am really sentimental i guess.

Well my Moon is in Aquarius, but the dispositors of Moon are uranus in Scorpio and Saturn in Cancer.
my chartruler is Jupiter in Pisces, squaring Neptune on the ASC. Maybe that is what is responsible for me liking to cry watching films.

last movie that really got me was machine gun preacher. i just really felt the frustration and was uplifted by his transformation. admired his determination against the odds and the sacrifices he made for children that were not even his own. humanity's ugliness and beauty make me ache.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eddnloOFjwY

my personal planets are: scorpio sun, moon, mars, pluto all conjunct in the 6th house. virgo venus in the 5th. sagittarius mercury in the 7th.

my 6th house stellium could explain why i find sacrifice and service so touching. also, my venus in the 5th house allows me to be extremely compassionate towards children. despite all the water i have, i'm not easily moved by sentimental movies. i say this not because of my gender or anything but because i'm more of a "show me struggle, show me blood, show me the essence of who you are, show me who you choose to be in the face of despair" kind of guy.

Oh and though it is not a movie, the last stanza of the song: Origin of love, always makes me cry, or at least tears very close to the surface. And only how this guy sings it. I donīt know why, but there is something that touches me very deeply about the way he sings the last stanza.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRIY2SHHHhs
(from 3:35).

The translation of this stanza is this (I guess the lyrics play a role, too)

"Last time I saw you
We had just split in two.
You were looking at me.
I was looking at you.
You had a way so familiar,
But I could not recognize,
Cause you had blood on your face;
I had blood in my eyes.
But I could swear by your expression
That the pain down in your soul
Was the same as the one down in mine.
That's the pain,
Cuts a straight line
Down through the heart;
We called it love.
So we wrapped our arms around each other,
Trying to shove ourselves back together.
We were making love,
Making love.
It was a cold dark evening,
Such a long time ago,
When by the mighty hand of Jove,
It was the sad story
How we became
Lonely two-legged creatures,
It's the story of
The origin of love.
That's the origin of love.
"

What a neat topic I'm participating.

I have moon in gemini H3
Mars in cancer H4

Let's c here....I don't cry over many movies usually. Just depends on my mood (or what time of the month it is ) but here r ones I've cried over:

Ladder 49 - at the end after he dies and u c the whole fire dept all suited up and carrying his coffin down the st and they play this song....not sure what the name is. But I bawled like a baby the 1st time I watched it lol

Beaches - the 1st time I watched it and towards the end where they r playing bette midler's song that goes 'did u ever know that ur my hero' and one min she's on the beach with her friend who is dying of some weird heart disease and the next she's died and gone to heaven that was so sad to me.

The man in the moon - I recently watched this and I rented it bc my bff and I watched it over and over as kids. This time, I'm old enuf to understand the things that happened. A young reese witherspoon plays this 14 yr old girl with her 1st case of puppy love...so I cried when her dad beat her with his belt, I cried when court blew her off for her sister after she blatently told him she liked him, I really cried when he ended up getting run over by the tractor. Ugh.

I think I cry when I can identify with the loss in the movie. Or somewhat anyways.

Ok who's next?

'Bridge to Terabithia'.. and.. 'Finding Neverland'.

I was in tears on & on.. I couldn't stop crying.

It could be because - both are based on true stories, that I felt so affected.

Sun - Aries
Moon - Cap
AC - Cancer

Pisces moon, sun, venus & mercury. I love watching movies, but they pretty much always make me cry - romances, action, dramas, disaster movies, doco's, comedies. Watched Liam Neeson in Grey last week & I balled my eyes out. I would say it's more unusual if I don't cry. A little embarrassing in public, so I tend to watch movies at home!!

Gia with Angelina Jolie, the HBO documentary about Gia Carangi's life, fame, drug use and death. It makes me cry when I see how much Gia needed love from others and Angelina's stellar acting in the film brings me to breaking down at least one time when I watch, the tears just come and I can't control.

I have Moon conjunct Chiron and Gia had a H4 Chiron... I could relate so much to Gia needing to spend time with her mother and love her despite her leaving in a way similar to abandonment without real boundaries being set (still spending time with her but never owning up to mistakes). Same exact situation for me except no dad involved.

I can relate to how Gia felt outcasted and alone from my 12H Pluto, and so many things in this movie scream out to me as similar to my struggles and needs, that it makes me cry in a cathartic way.

Heck, I cried watching the first ads for 'What Dreams May Come' back in the 90s. It was the Dalmatian running to greet Robin Williams' character...

I was born with Venus 28TAU48 conjunct Pleiades, the 'cry-at-the-drop-of-the-hat' Venus according to McEvers-March.

I thought it was. The urge to fight for ideals and against bigotry, narrowmindedness, exclusion of others (because of some perceived shortcomings).
Maybe it is also a Neptunian thing, it`s hard to tell in my case, as Mars is conjunct neptune, too.

Some oldies recently;

- "Mamma Roma" (Pasolini/ 1962)

(it wasn't just one or two tears you know)

- "Through a Glass Darkly" (Bergman/ 1961)

(same)

Scorp-Moon square Aqua-Mars/NN (the square here esp. for mamma roma)

What do you think, astrologically, what makes people cry during certain movies?

neptune aspects? Pisces? Water signs in general?

I would think it might have to do with that, for first of all Neptune is associated with films (among other things), and at the same time you need to be able to emphatize with the story or the characters to be moved to tears.

I LOVE moulin rouge! yes i definitely always cry, i can cry watching dances, watching tv shows, etc. etc.

virgo moon, pisces venus and ascendant, pluto in scorpio.
