Reading about Mercury placements can only get you so far! Why not ask the people who have those Mercury's to explain themselves, with their Mercury, on how it works?SO! Tell me your Mercury and explain how it works. How do you think? How do you process information? How do you communicate? You may include major aspects to it as well. FYI my Mercury is in Virgo conjunct Mars.

I have Mercury Sag in the 9H - squares JupiterI'm very blunt when it comes to standing for my rights/beliefs. My chart is watery which generally makes me quiet, but if theres a sore topic I can't keep my mouth shut no matter the consequences. However my motive is to always try to agree to disagree. ------------------ Scorpio sun, Pisces moon, and Pisces rising IP: Logged |

Interesting, Sag and 9th. Would you say that your thinking is very theoretical and philosophical as well? Maybe a bit future oriented? Also, do you think about the purpose of life a lot, as well as your purpose in it?
BTW seems like you are consistently replying to my posts, so thanks . ------------------ Leo Sun, Scorpio Moon, Aquarius ASC, Year of the Earth Snake "The Manticore is a mythological creature that is half-lion and half-scorpion." IP: Logged |

mercury in virgo in the 8th house squares uranus and jupiter. I am very analytical. I like to delve deeper into things and look past superficial details. I really like to read metaphysical and occult topics (8th house things) I like mysetry and occuclt very much. I do have an uusual way of seeing things and can express my ideas and thought sin very unuusal/erratic/eccentric ways (the mercury square Uranus) i think the mercury square jupiter manifests in ways that make me think i can do more than I can.. like when i think i can read a 1000 page book but can only get past page 200. lol. I very much identify with the virgo in me but i tend to speak and leave out details.. but I see and can discern differences easily. I am a good critic but I don't like to judge others. I like to be more compassionate and understanding.. if judgement comes up I look at it don't judge myself.. i just will never let others know that i am judgying (the 8th house is secretive) I really don't want to be critical of others because i know how its so hurtful to me (leos and virgos hate criticism) I really enjoy reading, learning, books etc all virgo things. I also think the mercury square uranus is what makes me having learning difficulties.. and one that that crashes with my mercury in virgo is that my 3rd house cusp is in Aries.. so i really do not like to get into details.. i like straight forwardness by my virgo side wants to be detailed. so i crash with that a lot. Absolutely for instance, I found a passion for art when I was young, and I'm still wondering how I can apply that to society. Problem is I'm very wishy washy, I took almost every art class there is but I'm still at a wall. The thought of my future is very concerning and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about it. Your welcome, you make great threads IP: Logged |

So, Mercury in Virgo in the 8th. Sounds like you don't have trouble confronting and discussing anything taboo. This may be too personal so I will understand if you don't want to answer , but would you say that your mind is on sexual intimacy often? Would you also say that you can transform people with your words? Their opinions at least? What about communicating (Mercury) with the dead (8th), any thoughts on this?
Also, I can relate to biting off more than you can chew, I have Jupiter opp Uranus . I tend to think that the 3rd House is how you learn, and then your Mercury is how you process that and then communicate it. So 3rd House is "intake", and Mercury is "process and output". Anyone have an opinion on this theory?

So do you think that your Mercury comes into play in your art style? It would make sense as art is a form of communication. I would think that the 5th House plays a big role in this (creative expression), what is your 5th house in?
Also, do you tend to paint/draw (sorry you didn't mention what art style) more Sagittarius kind of things (wilderness, landscapes, wild animals etc.) or Pisces/Scorpio kind of things (mystical, mysterious, magical, ethereal etc.)? Thanks for the compliment . BTW my 100th post!!!

Well I have Mercury in Leo in the 2nd with a Square to Pluto, a Trine to Uranus, and finally a wide opposition to Jupiter. One thing I notice is I'm WAY more outgoing than my other Cancer ppl. I also tend to be VERY enthusiastic, and I speak from the heart but not an in emotional way...but a way that gets you inspired. For the most part I'm really good at first impressions lol. I will be honest though...I probably remember events and things that center around me and my perceptions. While Water Mercuries remember things on an emotional level/if something makes an emotional impression...Fire Mercuries remember things as it relates to the self. If you haven't already noticed I've used the word "I" a lot. Which is another Leo trait...we love talking about ourselves. I also don't remember the little details of ANYTHING...not even past events. I could tell you a round about gist of a situation (even in my own past) but I am terrible with the details. I will say I have a tendency to be really blunt and sometimes rude. But I don't mean to. I blame the 1st house Sun/Mars Conjunction to my Asc lol. IP: Logged |

I have Leo Mercury conjunct Leo Sun in the 8th. I'm not very talkative to new people at first, I have to warm up to them. When I first talk to strangers, I try to make a joke or ironic statement and laugh a lot, its a nervous thing (I also have Sag ASC, so it makes me even more goofy). Like today a new coworker of mine said he wanted to move to Georgia (the country) and I said "why not the state, you can get your twang on." I have no idea why I said that, I think I try to get reactions out of people. Also I'm very subjective, not a rational person at all. Having a Sun-Mercury conjunction can be challenging at times. Mercury in Sagittarius, 29th degree, 2nd house, conjunct Sun and Neptune, square Mars.I'm very impulsive in how I speak. I blurt things out (been working on that) and I can be rather blunt and even rude and vulgar. I like to put some sort of humorous twist on most things I'm saying and I love to tell funny stories, or I make the stories funny. I definitely speak my mind and am really bold in my questions and answers. I'm usually very honest. When I think about things, I tend to think of them from a 'higher perspective' - whatever that means lol, i'm not exactly sure..but I know I erase my emotional biases and remove my personal views from a lot of my thought processes. That may seem impossible or hard to understand, but that's the best I can explain it. Which brings me to another thing about my Mercury - I have a hard time explaining things verbally. In writing, I'm pretty damn good about wording things that way I want but sometimes it just doesn't happen. My thoughts and words can sometimes be all over the place. Sometimes I will speak in fragmented sentences and people will look at me with a blank stare for a second and ask me to repeat myself. IP: Logged |

Hmmmm. I am fasinated by taboos and curious why the occur in our society... and i've studied the a little. I really don't have any problem talking about anything i believe because i feel i need to be geniune. If i talk about my beliefs i will not leave anything out for fear of "not fitting in" its also part of my mercury square uranus. I have been bashed a few times on message boards when I speak up about things most people will not have the balls to confront.. so yeah that is very true. although when i talk about it in person i am generally accepted.. people like me a lot more in person than on the message boards i dunno , lol. For some reason i can say anything to people no matter how bizarre or taboo and they will listen to me and I tend to make people question things and reconsider the status qua. IP: Logged |

Interesting, I did meet a women recently who had Mercury in Leo and she did act in a similar way you described. Do you think it is like an impulse to vocally (Mercury) impress (Leo)? Like you are trying to cut to being personal (Leo) in your communications (Mercury) right off the bat?

My basic theory on Mercury in Sagittarius is that the mind is broad, theoretical, and far-sighted.
With that in mind, it makes sense if something non-theoretical and more literal like putting together a sentence is difficult for you. That sound correct? Yours sounds similar to the description Moonfish made, especially the bluntness. Also, what would be your responses to the questions I asked Moonfish about her Mercury in Sagittarius? They are towards the top of the thread. ------------------ Leo Sun, Scorpio Moon, Aquarius ASC, Year of the Earth Snake "The Manticore is a mythological creature that is half-lion and half-scorpion." Yeah that could be it, plus having Mercury in the 8th brings up the intensity a notch and makes me more prone to talk about morbid or just weird things. IP: Logged |

Mercury in Leo 4th house: Honestly I act like a cat not over eager to meet new people or introduce myself until I get a good vibe off of someone. Mercury square Pluto: Basically when I am researching something I can become very obsessive. I need to know about every part of something to its core. I was the kid that took apart machines down to it's last screw and put them back together because I needed to know how it worked. Socially I make more judgments based not on what people say but the way they say it, their non-verbal actions are more important for me to understand them. I can notice more subtle forms of non-verbal communication and body language, thus creating a reliable indicator of their true feelings. Mercury square Mars:adds to my natural temper, basically verbal slingshot.....verbal AK-47 I can quickly an opinion and express my thoughts, often without much sensitivity to the person if I have no sort of emotional or professional relationship with someone. I can be a bit over-stimulated. Mercury semi square Venus: Slight friction between how I am thinking and feeling and expressing it with people I have relationships with. Mercury Bi-Quintile Uranus: I can be more open-minded about experiencing new things, learning new things,I try to identify the potential of something before I overlook it or cast a define judgement on someone or something. Mercury inconjunct Neptune Mercury opposite north node and Mercury opposite mc Mercury quincunx asc : People have a tenacity of mis-interpreting my personality with my outward appearance. I have mercury in Scorpio. One of the things that I get the most comments about is my ability to communicate, especially the ability to articulate emotions and sensory feelings. I ALWAYS win verbal arguments. I remember everything anyone ever says to me and can recall it when I need it, verbatim. My ex-boyfriend called it my scary computer brain. I love to ask very personal questions, I love to talk about feelings and hidden emotions. I can see right through what people are telling me if they are lying or hiding something. I think that's about the gist of it. IP: Logged |

I am very direct and hones.. i don't like details too much and when i listen at times i get bored esp if they are unnecessary details. so I dunno. How would an Arian learn? I'm a space cadet. lol
