Planets that sit in a house and sign unaspected, weather it be a natal chart or a relationship chart, tend to represent just the influences on the subject(s), based purely on the definitions supporting the planet and the house and sign that it is in. The effects are felt the most, whenever a transiting planet makes aspect, favorable or otherwise, to that solo standing planet. In a relationship union, person A's solo planet influence is strengthen from favorable aspects made by person B's planets.
The influences are weakened when stressful aspects are applied. The effect is, much like that of a transiting planet but the effects can last as long as the union does.
A planet that stands alone, is in a dormant state, until energized by planets making aspect to it.
Aspected planets are power houses, in comparison. The energy of each planet being aspected is in a state of constant alert, while the energy of the actual aspect at work serves as the catalyst to set situations into motion at any given moment.
