Even I have Saturn in Leo the 5th house. These are my themes

1) I never loosen up when it comes to dating or romance. I have too many inhibitions. People think I over-analyze way too much. In other words, I am painfully practical.

2) I don't want kids. Not that I hate them, but I just think this world is too harsh to bring them up. I am scared that they might suffer. BTW, I have a Virgo sun.

Like LindaGreg, I too have Saturn in Leo 5th House.

I have 2 kids, if I were an aristocrat I might have 6-7 kids easily. To me, this aspect manifests mainly as inhibitions in having fun in a social setting. I do not dance like a party animal in discotheques.
And there is lesser luck in speculation. It teaches fiscal discipline and the appreciation of honest work. We cannot insult Saturn by saying Saturn is all bad and negative.

Jyotish got a bad name only because of scary predictions like these. Western Interpretations are far more refined and humane. Jyotish was misused by certain Brahmin Priests to keep other Brahmins and working classes in a grip of fear for over 3000 years. I am sure the original interpretations in Sanskrit were never so abhorrent but they are lost in the sands of time.

I tried a vedic natal chart and Saturn seems to fall in house 7, which is interpreted as this:

"Saturn in the Seventh House

Sutras 32-36: The native will have a lean bodied wife, he will be afflicted in his body and will indulge in prostitution. He will also be very sorrowful. If Saturn is in his own sign or in his sign of exaltation the native will have intimacy with many women. The effect will be the same if Saturn is in conjunction with Ketu. If Saturn is associated with Mars the native will kiss somebody's male organ with his mouth. If Saturn is associated with Venus, the native will kiss the female secret parts with his, mouth and will have intimacy with women other than his wife."

- it actually says that:

Is it just me or do those type of interpretations sound as a "sick joke"? I don't have Mars house 7 but for every male individual with that placement - might sound as if is gay or interested in man "secret parts"... which literally - sounds like a practical joke...

There has to be more to Vedic astrology than that - probably it's not even accepted by serious vedic astrologers...

quote:
Effects of Saturn in the Twelve Houses

Saturn in the First House
Sutras 1-7: If Saturn is in the first house (ascendant), the native will suffer from rheumatic and bilious diseases. If Saturn is in his sign of exaltation (Libra), the native will have lordship over a village or town and will have financial and agricultural prosperity. If Saturn is in his own sign Capricorn or Aquarius, the father of the native will be rich. If Saturn is in the ascendant in the sign of the lord of the 4th or 10th the native will be very fortunate and will enjoy the effects of Maharaja yoga (name, fame and wealth). If Saturn in the ascendant is aspected by Moon, the native will earn his livelihood by begging. This will not happen if Saturn is aspected by a benefic (Jupiter or Venus) also.

OTHER VIEWS
BrihatJataka: The person concerned will be poor, sickly, love stricken, very unclean, suffering from diseases during his childhood and indistinct in his speech. (The above effects are only when Saturn occupies the Lagna identical with a sign other than Sagittarius, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Libra). If any one of the signs Sagittarius, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Libra be the ascendant and Saturn should occupy it, the person concerned will be equal to a king, the headman of a village, mayor of a city, a great scholar and will be handsome.

Phaldeepika: If Saturn is in the ascendant in his sign of exaltation or in his own sign, the native will be like a king or head of a village or a town. If Saturn is in any other sign, the native will be unhappy in his childhood and later will be poor and lazy.

Saravali: Same effects as given by Phaldeepika.

Chamatkar Chintamani: The native will own large properties and will be prosperous but greedy, sorrowful and narrow minded. He will humiliate his enemies.

in vedic my saturn is exalted in libra first house. jupiter sextile saturn and venus opposition saturn. i don't understand the other text..

...even at a 10 hours weeding - i barely danced a little on 10'th hour... most of the time i was sitting at my table... but - that's because i don't like mingling with large groups of people.

I tried babysitting one little girl recently and it only lasted 3 days because i was about to lose my mind..I prefer my space

I usually see this in Indian interpretations. My Saturn is in 9th house and it says I'm evil, sinful, irreligious, fatherless and childless :/

I have 2 kids, I don't follow religion, but I believe in God. my father is alive and well, lol. And I'm the least "sinful" person you'll meet. I'm actually prudish and strongly believe in morals so don't worry :/

Oh and I'm not evil, but I am moody..

Having Saturn in the 5th or Capricorn on the 5th house cusp could mean that you are serious about things that are supposed to be fun. It's hard for you to loosen up and play.It can kind of put a damper on things. You can be really uptight about expressing creativity, like there are a lot of blocks there.I have Capricorn on the 5th house.I love kids and used to babysit a lot (Moon in Leo,Sun/Venus) but at the same time I am terrified of them.
You can be really insecure and hard on yourself about being creative. But it seems as if someone with Capricorn in the 5th can make some concrete and lasting contributions, things with real structure and have some real weight to them.I am thinking builders and engineers, also sculptors, those who work with durable materials and make tangible things.
Someone with Capricorn on the 5th has Virgo Rising which makes them by nature pretty serious.Being responsible and reliable is an upside.I am thinking Kevin Coster, who has Virgo rising-----
