Topic: Your interpretation of what makes attraction?

I've been thinking about this for a while. For the people that you immedietly find attractive when you first see them (without even talking) would you say that it is more aspects between the planets (such as Sun-Mars) or aspects to their ascendant (ie physical body) from your planets that would create the attraction? This makes sense to me as the rising is the outer personality and in general looks/first impression of a person. And if you off the bat find someone attractive I would think that something in your chart is positively aspecting their rising. I also think for aspects to be felt you have to at least interact. An example is you may have an amazing Moon/Venus aspect but if you don't actually talk then it won't be felt or realized. And another example is that you may have an amazing Sun-Mars Conjunction that would create energy...but if you don't positively aspect their Rising you might not find them attractive. What do you think and what have you seen in your own experiences and the experiences of others that would create attraction? This also applies to situations where you had immediate attraction without talking, and you then were able to get to know them or interact. IP: Logged |

I should add what do you think about aspects to the Sun/Mars for a woman (or even Venus...it rules what we like) and Venus/Moon for a man to the rising would create immediate physical attraction?

i don't really know, because there are countless people i've been head-over-heels attracted to but i never knew their rising sign or their birthday at all. most of the time, i dont know a person's birth time and neither do they, so i can never really tell..IP: Logged |

trust me when i say there are many many aspects that create attraction. and it is both a combination of synastry or composite. sometimes its synastry that causes it sometimes its the composite.IP: Logged |

RunAround you are right. There are tons of aspects that create attraction. But I'm not talking about attraction when you get to know someone. I'm talking about that immediate in your face attraction where you think someone is very attractive and you haven't even talked to them. For instance lets say you have a celebrity who you think is gorgeous...you have no idea what he or she is really like. My question or thought is would your attraction based upon his or her Rising. You have no idea how he or she is, but you perceive them to be one way. Would that be the rising?IP: Logged |

I think it could be any of the planets (meaning before Jupiter). In person, I always found myself attracted/drawn to people with a fire sign either in their Venus or Mars, sometimes even their Mercury (but more so Mars). As far as celebrities go I tend to be attracted to them based on sun sign (and this is after the fact. I don't know what sun they are 'til later).IP: Logged |

yep i was talking about in your face attraction. I have venus conjunct mars square pluto...i never start liking someone after i get to know them so im not completely sure what u mean haha sry. There are lots of aspects that cause it. Most of the time i have noticed there IS a double whammy aspect occurring in synastry with a favorable description of what that DW means. Like DW sun-neptune aspects, DW mars-asc aspects, DW venus-jupiter apsects, DW sun-pluto aspects, DW sun-moon aspects. etc.IP: Logged |

Lol Runaround...I sorta get that. I sometimes let my Cancer intuition pick who I like and that can lead to disastrous results lol.When I let my Venus in 11th become friends with someone (which is very much so needed for me) it is much better. But I will be honest, I do sometimes find someone cute, and use friendship as a way to get close to them. But then my crush ends and we remain friends anyway. IP: Logged |

Universally people with venus conjunct mars natally are attractive to many as is the case with venus conj asc natally.The love at first sight is supposed to be signified by uranus and venus. I would also believe that the rising sign's planet effect in your chart would also dictate how you feel about someone. IP: Logged |

The few that I was able to get their birth time had Virgo Rising (my sun in Virgo) or Cancer Rising (Venus in Cancer)
The Sun/Asc conjunt was always stronger than Venus/Asc conjunt.Those are the ones that really made me stop dead in my tracks. This is without talking to them, just seeing them for the first time. IP: Logged |

my guess is it's the ASC and its physical aspects and mannerisms that are attractive. for example, i have a venus virgo and was drawn to my current bf (without talking first, just observation) because of how neat/tidy and organized he was - i later found out he is Virgo rising, so it matched my venus. i'd assume that if there is an attraction it would be because they are lighting up some personal planet IP: Logged |

You know I was wondering about this. There is this guy who's Mars is Conjunct my AC by a degree...and I'm not all that attracted to him (I was and then got to know him and my 11th house Venus put him into the friend zone) but he always pushes for us to be more. And gets jealous if I mention other guys or anything. He's also very touchy with me. It's the only big "physical" synastry aspect we have. So I was wondering. I wonder does immediate physical attraction have more to do with Venus or Mars...such as you said that your current bf's AC touched your Venus. Perhaps the way he comes across (AC) makes you feel "womanly." And for a man signs who embody his Mars make him feel manly. However obviously this is just for off the bat physical attraction, as for men you would need more than just sexual attraction (ie Mars aspects) to be considered long term material. And the same for women (Sun/Mars etc). IP: Logged |

i really dont think synastry can tell you if there's physical attraction or not,only emotional connections. i have had some nearly perfect synastries with people i'm not even remotely attracted to. i like the way elsa elsa put it, she says" i am only attracted to men with dark hair and eyes, i can have the best synastry in the world with a blonde guy and wouldnt be attracted to him."IP: Logged |

I think synastry and composite helps overall,but you and that person both have to be mutually attracted to each other first.You can have Venus conjunct Mars with someone and be repulsed by them.Connection first synastry/composite after.IP: Logged |

Possible. I also think it depends on age as well, at my age I'll probably run away from anyone I feel an intense instant attraction to. Often I find myself attracted to persons with pMoon in Virgo conj my Asc. I'm also attracted/fascinated by persons with pMoon in Gemini - my Sun. For me it's Moon in Scorpio, but I've heard they have that effect on most people so don't know it counts. I have Mars in Taurus, however. So perhaps I like Moon opp Mars. Back in September 2005 I was having an awful day. I was stuck working in a textbook Capricorn - not a compliment. Suddenly a Cancer-Scorpio entered the room and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body and instantly I was energized. It was such a rush I pretended not to know how to fill out the application so I could get the DOB...I know, it was bad. Their n/pVenus & pMoon were all in Gemini conj my Sun. My pVenus was conjunct their nSun in Cancer. Next was a Sagittarius. The instant we met I felt my eyes locked and redirected to their nether region...it was really bad, but such a rush. We had; their nSun conjunct my nMoon exact, their nMars oppose my nMars, & their pMoon conj my Asc. I met the Aries at the social club. At first I thought, meh. Within a half-hour I felt a rush of sexual energy, with accompanying capitulation from the voice inside: If this person propositions me, I won't put up much of a fight. There weren't any blockbuster aspects...and things dissolved into power struggle, and stubborn indifference. If felt bad how I treated this one, but the Aries lied and said they were Aquarius. There was another Aries-Scorpio. This one was really nice but not my type. Nonetheless I felt a magnetic put towards them. I swear the pull was so strong I could feel myself being dragged in their direction. Things got so bad on my end I stopped looking at them, this because everytime I did I got uneasy sexual vibrations. Nothing yucky, more stubborn resistance.
