Does the ruler of your ascendant show it self up in your external make-up?

I, for instance, have Taurus ascending with Venus (being the ruler) in Scorpio conjunct Saturn. I guess this would automatically also make Saturn a co-ruler?

I find that, upon first meetings, I am often quiet, reserved and observational (Saturn). But this is all a passing front.

Saturn-Venus conjunct can be very strategic and self-conscious and , despite its water element, Scorpio is easily excitable and when in Saturn and Venus respectively, can find it a challenge to express its "excitement".

I am NOT timid and can be quite provocative when the mood suits me(to the suprise of everyone concerned who thought me taciturn and Saturnine-like).

Another person I know has Libra Ascending with Venus(the ruler) in Cancer.

He is very warm and friendly , upon first meetings, but has a strong defensive layers that are difficult to penetrate through once the casual "hey, how are you?" greetings are done and finished.

Many people are drawn to him but because of the defensive cardinal nature of Cancer, others tend to be confused by his hot/cold attitude towards them.

Venus in Cancer makes him attractive and comfy, but because of the watery, private nature of Cancer, his warm and fuzzy nature is expressed only to a trusted few.

The second has his Asc in Capricorn and the ruler-Saturn- in Libra.

Saturn gives him a very distant and cold look; "only talk business and you better make sense" external front.

However, with Libra being there, he yearns to talk and exchange ideas with a willing participant. Once the layers of Saturn come down, you do see the reasoning, "compare and contrast" nature of Libra surfacing.

He is very analytical, eloquent and attentive to people he engages in conversation with.He appreciates good manners a lot.

I actualy believe that the planet that the sign finds itself in does affect its projection, but never thwarts it.

If your Asc is Virgo and the ruler, Mercury, is in Aries. You will have a no-nonsense approach to speaking; even though Mercury, not the best place for Aries, will insist on "gatherng all the facts" or "not jumping to conclusions" etc.

Your initial reactions to things will always be Arian i.e "That's rubbish", "you are talking bull***" , "Are you an idiot?" etc.

What's your Ascendant, and how do you believe that that ascendant ruler affects your external ego?

No, any planet aspecting an asc. ruler does not make that planet a co-ruler. The only signs which could have co-rulers are: Scorpio (Mars & Pluto), Aquarius (Saturn & Uranus), and Pisces (Jupiter and Neptune), but if Saturn aspects your Taurus ruler of Venus, that does not make it a co-ruler. It'll affect the energy of Venus no doubt, but no co-rulership there.

Cancer can be defensive, but basically it's in response to anyone trying to penetrate Cancer's private nature, or perceived "penetration."

Do you mean that the other way around? That the sign the planet finds itself in?

Depends on aspects, of course. I know a woman my age with Mercury in Aries, and: 1) she never shuts up, 2) she's an impetuous talker, and 3) she's very defensive when she talks, perceiving inquiries as interrogation and subsequently trying to stave off perceived attacks. With that third part, that could also be her Mercury (in Aries) square Saturn (in Cancer)

My ascendant is Pisces. Jupiter and Neptune ruled. Neptune is in Sagittarius and squares my Jupiter. "Cookbook" interpretations say it can be delusional (lol), but I've found it to manifest as extremely sentimental, imaginative, etc. Venus aspects both rulers (conjuncts Jupiter on the Pisces ascendant line and squares Neptune as well.)

Overall, with my ascendant co-rulers (and Venus thrown in), my ascendant can be extremely romantic, sentimental, imaginative, other-worldly, fantasy-oriented, etc..

Scorpio ASC, Mars and Pluto are my rulers. Pluto is conj my ASC from the 12th house and sextile Sun. Mars is in the 5th, trine Venus and square Mercury and Uranus. Pluto in Scorpio, Mars in Pisces.

Of course it affects my external ego. I can come across as scary and aggressive and dark and brooding, for sure. Thank god I have Venus in the 1st to let me lighten up and be a "people pleaser" when I really want to. I can be pretty harsh and bold, though.

I am also very concerned with transformations and escape. Typical of Pluto rising and Mars in Pisces.

Scorpio asc, pluto in scorpio and jupiter in scorpio in first house, juno in scorpio conjuct ascendant, mars in aquarius in fourth house.
People take me seriously. They dont really joke with me.Even though I am quite thin they dont really mess with me.People think I take everything too personally.I also have that Scorpio stare. When I am day dreaming and getting lost in my own world(Pisces sun),people who are infront of me tell me to stop staring at them.I never knew why they used to say that until I started to learn astrology.
Some people say I come off as innocent.Maybe thats because of juno conjuct ascendant,I read somewhere that it gives the person an "air of innocence".But still people dont really bother me and thats fine with me.
