About his past I discovered he's estranged from his mom and wonder if there was truth in astrology and cancer men with whom the relationship with their mother was bad would somehow taint them in some way? It's such a shame because Itruly like him but now everytime I'm around him I always get the vibe he has an ulterior motive and being a very intuitive person and raising a cancer daughter (she's a cancer sun and moon) I feel I might have to start distancing myself before my blunt sag moon tells him to cut the crap that i see right through.

What I do is hold them accountable anyway. While everybody else is patting them on the hand and looking the other way and cuddling them because the Cancer/Pisces just told them some sob story about their 'horrible life', I'm always the one who goes, "You know what? Plenty of people have had it hard. That's no excuse or justification".

And that's really what you have to do, is just refuse to play into it, even if the people around you are doing it, or giving you grief for not coddling that person. Because it's true, all the past harm and hurt in the world, doesn't give anybody the right to go out and then kcuf over the next person or do unethical things.

So whatever emotionally manipulative tactics they use...whatever excuses or guilt-trips they try to lay on you, you just have to put all that crap aside and look at the situation for what it is. What their life was like in the past, and any other emotional factors are irrelevant. The point is, did they do something NOW, that was unacceptable in some way.

And if they did, wrong is wrong period, and they should be called on it just like anyone else, and if what they did warrants ending the friendship or some kind of penalty, then that's what should happen.

Wow...when I read this I wonder why try and keep up this image you want others to think of you? Do you think it's something where it's done in innocence or without knowing and that they themselves believe this should be the true image of them until they're foundout?

It's just they've gotten love and reinforcement whenever they act that way.. So, they feel people like it and they themselves like the recognition. They are also more than likely to get aeay with a lot... Ever see American Psycho? "It's hip to be square"? He got away with all that he did because he was such a pathetic bpre with everyone so, he wouldn't be pinned for any of his deeds.. It's why before he delivers that axe to paul's head, he makes a reference to the song and says it's about the "pleasures of comformity".

Mama wanted a baby boy, and every time he played in, he got mama's love ans what he wanted and as he grew up, he probably found it worked in more ways than one.

And yes, part of them being able to believe that is largely due to the reaction they get from other people.
