I've been thinking about this a lot today, about the signs most and least prone to depression. Or the contributing factors in the natal chart.I noticed that a lot of people my age these days are being prescribed with anti-depressions and are seriously self harming, etc. I was thinking to be myself, although sometimes I get really sad myself, I don't think I'll ever end up with depression. In other words I'm extremely resilient and robust when it comes to emotions. I'm a Taurus, with a Capricorn moon. Mercury is in Taurus, Venus in Pisces, Mars in Leo, Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius and Saturn's in Pisces. So, please discuss this topic, I'm interested to hear peoples thoughts! IP: Logged |

This may go off on a tangent a bit, but would you discuss what it's like for you with your Capricorn Moon? I'm curious, thanks. IP: Logged |

Yeah sure I don't know really... I think it makes me quite resilient if I'm honest, my emotions are there, but under control. I think there's something with in myself that keeps me going, makes me heal and pushes me forward. I think the negative side is, I can be critical of emotions and people who can't control them for the sake of those around them. I have little tolerance for people who "drink away their sorrows". I'd never dream of it. I'm very good with people and cheering them up and helping them get back on top of everything. I feel I really "organise" and "order" emotions! Do you kind of understand what I mean?IP: Logged |

Damn I envy you Capricorn moons. My Aries moon has the need to overreact to every little thing, giving the impression that I'm a cry baby, weakling, etc... But the fact is, even when I am upset I usually recuperate as though it never happened. I have to express my negative emotions to expel them or else they will linger. I can be prone towards depression/self-pity but it doesn't get so bad where I want to harm myself or kill myself. I still push on, no matter what. I feel like fixed signs can linger more on depressive feelings, mutable signs are too changeable to linger and are ultimately uncomfortable with a heavy emotion like depression, and cardinal signs may express it too, but with their "moving" quality they may just suck it up. To be honest, I wouldn't actually say I was highly unsimilar to your description of Aries moon, but I would say everything internal with us

(I could tell you were a taurus sun and mercury by the way you worded and organized your sentence! Neat-o. )I propose least prone; Gem, Sagi, Arie, etc. But they are most provoking of the behavior that could cause someone to delve into one. Only difference is they're not the TYPE OF PEOPLE to dwell. Most likely: Pisces, Cancer, etc. I'm a Libra, and I get depressed quite often! When around companions which I may share a mutual sense of understanding/trust, that depression could just fall right off. That's just plain ole me. But sometimes, like a Libra, I find beauty in the simplest of things, and it brightens my entire mood. Anything on Saturn-Pluto-Neptune evoked-spectrum sounds heavy. I'm with 12th houser; I lOve the Capricorn moon. IP: Logged |

Ya know, I think aspects can really play a part with depression. Even house placements. I have Moon in Capricorn and it's not fun. Sure, it gives me sarcasm but it buries essential emotions. I'm also uncomfortable with other people's emotions at times. I was a crybaby as a child (maybe because of my Moon conjunct Neptune and Sun and Mercury in 12h) but as I got older I started associating tears with weakness. Which is pretty sad because crying is so natural. I've noticed that feminine signs are more prone to depression. For instance, look at Kurt Cobain's chart. There was not a single masculine sign. Even his rising sign was feminine. Fire signs are more extroverted, as well as Air signs. BUT, Geminis are usually linked to bipolar disorder. IP: Logged |

Never been depressed in my life. I get sad for like an hour or two, but can't really dwell on it for too long. I have Leo Sun & Venus, Taurus Moon, Cancer Mars, Scorpio Asc. But I know someone who has a Taurus Sun, Leo Moon and Scorpio Asc who is the most depressed person I've ever met, bar none. I guess it has to go deeper than that, probably some unfortunate aspects... I also have a Capricorn Moon, and suffer from (very severe) depression. I'm only seventeen, but have struggled a lot with it for over four years without it really ever getting better. I was on anti-depressants (first Prozac, and then Celexa) and a whole lot of crap, but I don't think they really did anything for me. I think that people just put it inside of their heads that anti-depressants work.My moods really fluctuate a lot more than most people, just the littlest thing can destroy my mood if I'm in a good one. Pisces Sun Capricorn Moon/Venus Taurus Ascendant Aquarius Mercury Leo Mars (retrograde) Life with an eighth house moon is hard...I attribute a lot of it to that placement. IP: Logged |

It's funny because when I was a kid I did sometimes cry, but not a lot apparently. I can't remember the last time I cried, I never cry... I can't physically do it. I can feel on the edge of it at the end of a happy movie, but the tears never do come. In fact, I feel embarrassed when it comes to situations which are mushy or when people cry

Reallyy? Interesting... well I could put in down to my Taurus... it's a very stable sign. The quote "Who smiles through life except when crossed?" is so Taurus, the only reason I get upset is when people wrong me:L IP: Logged |

Do you try to dig into things too much?because I recently noticed thats what makes me depressed.I really go deep into things and I get obsessed with them.I feel like I can never do well in anything unless I get obsessed with the person/things associated with it and thats where the depression comes from.I have gemini moon in 8th house, sun, mercury(retro),venus in pisces, scorpio asc, aqua mars. I think certain transits can lead to short lived feelings of depression, or mild depression. I would say that I had mild depression from age 17-18. Around that time Saturn was Opposing my Venus. ------------------ Rising: Gemini Sun: Aries 11 Moon: Scorpio 6 Mercury: Taurus 12 Mars: Aquarius 10 Venus: Pisces 10 N.Node: Aquarius 9 Saturn: Capricorn 9 Jupiter: Cancer 2 Pluto: Scorpio 6 rx IP: Logged |

I don't necessarily feel embarrassed when it comes to very emotional, mushy situations, but I do feel out of place and awkward. I'm finding out that me and you have a lot in common. We're both Taureans with Capricorn moons, Gemini risings(?), and our moons are in the 8h. You're just a year older than me. My mom also has a Capricorn moon and she suffers from depression. I can already feel how intense your emotions are, but you bottle them up! Don't. Do you have Sun and Mercury in your 12h?
