Right now, I am trying to study a chart of a close friend of mine. He has Uranus in Sagittarius square his Venus, Moon, and Sun. However, the squares are all over a 5 degree orb, except the moon. He has Uranus square Moon at 2 degrees. Uranus square Venus at 7, and square Sun at 9. When the orbs are so large, what exactly does this entail? That the effect is not as powerful, but it's still triggerable? (If that makes sense.) Also, do these aspects pretty much that he's pretty much a bachelor for life? I guess I should also mention he has Venus in hard aspect to Moon and Mars, but are over a 5 degree orb. IP: Logged |

Let me just answer about the orbs. Think of the pull of a magnet. When the two magnets are close the pull gets more intense. When they are farther away, the pull is less. The intensity of the aspect strengthens or lessens, based on orbs. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. I believe a 9* square would be considered part of the 11th harmonic set of aspects and called the triundecile. I personally wouldn't count a square above 6*. IP: Logged |

Does that mean that you would disregard the square above 6*? I don't know much, if at all, about the 11th harmonic set of aspects. Is this significant in any way? IP: Logged |

I wouldn't necessarily disregard it, and I shouldn't have stated it in so black and white, but like Ami implied, I wouldn't focus on it, especially if the planet made other close aspects, even close minor aspects. If the planet was otherwise unaspected, I believe a 6* square would definitely be noticed. At those degrees, it would likely matter if the aspects are applying or separating; applying would be stronger. Different harmonics are just different vibrations. The 4th harmonic has an emotional dynamic to it. The 11th isn't as personal, and more so social and expansive. I believe the 4th harmonic relates to Cancer and the 11th Aquarius but I could be wrong. I keep going back and forth between tight and wide orbs. Although considering the different harmonics, it makes sense to me to keep them fairly tight. IP: Logged | |
