I've just now been hit by the realization... My 8th House ruler is in my first house and the occult was one of the very first things that i was introduced to in life.I'm talking about pretty heavy stuff. Every single one of my family members on both my mother's and father's side, are involved in it somehow to the point of having done it for a living. I've read that interest/talents in the occult is not something that can be taught or passed on, it's inherited. It's not something that clicked until now because i guess it's something that has been so familiar; i've overlooked it. Do you guys have a lot of action in your 8th? What has your experience been? My 8th house has my Taurus S. Node and Taurus Hades conjunct the star Algor...My grandma(dads side) is Cherokee Indian, born on reservation, her father was a Medicine Man...she tried to teach me things as i was growing up but my mom, a Jehovah Witness felt it was demonic and put a stop to it...my grandma told me i had the ability to see things, and know things but i grew up so terrified of it, i never explored it. Ive had weird things happen as ive grown up...so now im finally exploring it, starting to learn about my grandmas heritage and what exactly a medicine man was to a tribe, its very taboo to my mom still, so i dont talk about it. Too bad my grandma died before i could learn from her..but i feel shes still around!IP: Logged |

^my friend has her own site (also practices astrology) and she's cherokee, too.. She's a great lady!I know from looking into the cherokee history after having met her that medicine men/women are very well respected in a tribe. Maybe you'd find some of what she shares on her site useful: http://mentator.com IP: Logged |

Yup I grew up with it as well. I would accompany my mom to tarot card readers, palm readers, and to shops where they sold talismans, charms, rocks.. etc. I was a very curious kid so I learned about those things very young. My great grandma and grandpa were siblings and supposedly both practiced the craft.8th house SN conj Mars exact IP: Logged |

@C1ND3R- Thank you i will go check that site out!! I really appreciate it, i love reading anything i can about it!@virgolotus- My S.Node trines my Virgo Moon by 2 degrees, my 12th house Virgo Moon is nearly unaspected to birth planet...a square to neptune, but 7 degrees in between, some say its too far to aspect, some say its a square? ..again 12th house, more dark places to explore... I had much pain to overcome from the sub conscience messages i received growing up... my heart wanted to be that good little perfect J.W. but that religion wasnt the reality of where God was and it took me a long time to shake that reality and stop judging myself according to their standards! I firmly believe the love my grandma taught was the truth about God and how he loves us! I don't even have pics of my grandma, she was pulled out of "school" if you can call it that..in 2nd grade to pick cotton, her hands were so crippled from it she couldn't move them at all...arthritis had totally taken over by the time she was in her early 20's. She never learned to read but she had the brightest most loving energy you could ever feel! I remember going into her house and feeling a warmth that i just never felt anywhere else. Altho there was creepy thing there to..like little orbs at night would float around this one room...scared me to death and i never wanted to be alone...but now i realize it was just energy and nothing to be afraid of...my aunts did palm reading...i know they always talked about being gypsy's...im not sure if they were talking about actually "gypsy" like in heritage or just that they moved so often? I have inherited it from my own past lives, if i can say that. I have Moon in 12th. And Neptune is aspecting all my planets and axes. And mostly it's confirmed with asteroids. I have Moon conjunct Hekate, Sun conjunct Medea, SN conjunct Circe, all exact.. and IC conjunct Lilith. I have memories of myself being involved with magic in various lifetimes, and i am now. I don't know if any of my ancestors was into occult, i have heard of my maternal great grand mother, but i've no confirmation if that's true. But i think it is, because my mom sees things too, that come true. She's only not into that as much as i am. And i have nothing in the 8th house, so i don't think it's only about this. IP: Logged |

i have mars, vertex, hades, kronos rx,vesta, psyche, philosophia, varuna rx in 8th house. And the ruler is in the 12th house. The occult fascinates me but i don't know anyone in my family like me. My mother had some paranormal experiences, very high intuition, but that's it.IP: Logged |

I have a pile-up in the 8th. The interest is there, but I know better, and honestly don't think that human beings were meant to try and manipulate those forces anyway - I've seen a few who dabble in it and I think the psychological repercussions for it are severe, which is why I keep my distance.IP: Logged |

@virgolotus-Thank you, i love talking about her, its like i feel her warmth all over again! @Gray-i understand what your saying...there are somethings i will never touch...Ouija boards...i just won't open myself up to the possibility of bringing in a spirit that isn't a positive energy. My *opinion is when you are feeling or sensing the energies around you, your feeling another realm that is an overlap of energy...so their energy is coming through you, its filtered through your soul/psyche. They don't have as much power strength or access to this realm. But when you use a Ouija board your opening a door for them to come and go, giving them access to our realm without any filtration from our psyche which dilutes their strength....i dont need them that close to me...i prefer they keep enough distance that they can't get into my personal space! *Of course this is just my humble opinion, everybody experiences things in their own way! Yeah I was talking with my guy, and we are both spiritual, and not for religion. and I told him I would never touch a Ouija board. and he's all like if you don't believe in this then you shouldn't believe in a Ouija board. And then he would challenge me(I'm sure he wasn't serious and was just wanting to prove a point.) to do it with him. But then I challenged him back and said you know what you're right, let's have s3x on one. I could tell he was caught off guard by that, and was all like yeah....but then 30 seconds later he was like "no!" haha we have never talked about them since. IP: Logged |

@ Gabby, I exp similar reaction from my mother also a Christian over my interests. My paternal grandma was also a native American, practiced shamanism. I felt the cool to hidden things at an early age, learning of my grandmother confirmed what was always there. II repressed it a lot due to the fear/guilt blocks from my mother. Picked up studies on my spiritual path again, after years of hiding from it. I finally feel at peace & ok w just being me and being ok with not following the religion of my upbringing. I did play w a ouji board a few times in my youth, nothing crazy happened, but wouldn't do that again. now I understand that certain things open up portals etc which one may not be able to handle. Jupiter chart ruler & black moon Lilith and Kali in the 8th. Jupiter's sign of Sagittarius in the 12th/1st. Going to look up where asteroid Hecate is within the chart. IP: Logged |

LOL My blackmoon sits on my DC, Erda sits on my psyche...and lucifer sits on my MC....im very careful about any BAD energies....stay away from Me!! Especially because my pluto is 3 degrees from my AC....i dont like death that close to how im seen by others...its kind of intimidating!! IP: Logged |

894 Erda (Norse): The Goddess of earth and the mother of the three Norns. She has the ability to see the future and possesses great wisdom; on more than one occasion, we see Wodon asking for and receiving advice from Erda. Seer; knowing the orgin and outcome of everything.
