Well, yes, things evolve to the better, BUT we are talking about pluto here. There is a lot of crisis, transformative tension, intensity etc. involved.
Pluto burns you down to the ground, so that only that which is real remains.
Usually I have only read of people being afraid of Pluto-transits because of its intensity, and after all Pluto is also associated with death and sacrifice (of those things in your life that you donīt need anylonger, though you donīt always KNOW before that you donīt need them and use them as crutches).
for me it was a lot of internal processing stuff, not so many BIG events. Though I had been through Tr Pluto conjunct my Mars, Neptune, Node and ASC before the transit over my Sun and Mercury (and actually my Venus is on 6 Cap, so Tr Pluto is still on my Venus, as we speak - I really was in for a total remodelling. lol).
The Transit of pluto over Mars and ASC was very tough, because my grandfather had a stroke, we - as a family- rebuilt the house, took him in and cared for him until he died a bout one and a half year later.
Nothing of that sort really happened when Pluto was transiting my Sun (and my Sun is connected to my Mars/Saturn-mp which often is called the "death-axis", though it must be from the doom-and-gloom-days of astrology. lol).
Noone died I think.
The curious thing though is, that I suddenly developed this fixed idea - though I knew it was silly- that I might not survive until the next day, that I would simply drop dead any moment.
Of course I didn`t. But I found it interesting as an actor I know of had the very same transit 4 years later, and at that time he took over the darkest role in all his career, which involved a scene, in which his lover was killing him by ripping out his heart. Every night on stage!
Another actor I know, when he had Transit Pluto being exactly on his Moon and MC and only being 2 degrees off his Sun, took over the role of Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar", and he played that role in at least THREE different productions! And of course it involved him being "crucified" every night.
(SInce his his Sun is exactly my Sun, I of met him after such a performance; there was a resonance, as not only we both were under the same transit, but Tr Pluto was conjunct the composite Sun exact, when we met; In two other cases, it was the same; when I met them or saw them live for the first time, Tr Pluto was transiting over Composite Sun. In the case when I saw Jude Law on stage, it also involved Tr Pluto being conjunct composite Node and Psyche and opposite Saturn).
Speaking of Jude Law, he was having Tr Pluto almost conjunct his Sun and exact squaring his MC (with Tr Uranus, and Tr Mars making a T-square or Grand Cross with his chart) last year, when he was playing "Anna Christie" on stage. A very Plutonion-Neptunian play, and boy did he tap into his SCorpio-Mars and Sun-square Pluto!
I have seen him on stage before (and on screen of course - but honestly, the screen is flat. lol)-, but I was downright SCARED by the raw energy and brooding volatile intensity he displayed in that role!
Pluto all the way.
Anyway I disgress.
When I had that transit it marked a sort of second awakening, a rebirth.
And the birthing process was painful (and sometimes still is), but it was so worthwile.
I was processing outlived emotions, learned to leave the past where it belongs and reevaluated my own role in how my life developed with more selfhonesty than ever.
Also, so many seemingly fated events happened, they just rained down on me, these strange coincidences, synchronicities, and pushed me to face the past, and realize that it is not needed for the present anymore, or not all of it.
And interestingly, it was during this period that I came here to LL.
Actually LL`s birthchart and mine have some heavily karmic connections (ASC and Pluto conjunct my Neptune-NN; Uranus conjunct Moon; Jupiter conjunct SN-DESC; NN conjunct Saturn etc. and most of thse exact).
It was a case of strong synchronicity, and meaningful for me personally, because many years ago - in 1990- it was a book of Linda Goodman that started or fuelled this journey I am still on (well I was interested in astrology before, but it was a markpost in my life).
Interestingly those things I internally had to process in 2006, had their roots in exactly that time and in the following years.
And the blasts of the past that crossed my path stemmed from this time long ago as well.
Well, Pluto rules my 12th (and 11th) house, somaybe the story reaches back even longer than 16 years.
On a more worldly practical level, I found much more of my voice, or was in the beginning of it. I am a teacher and from the time Tr Pluto was conjunct my Sun - ruler of my 9th house- and Mercury, coruler of 9th house- it seemed like I became more authoritative, more convinced and more convincing. Most of it I learned because of feeling pressured by the opposite, being too nice and yielding, and had to learn to assert myself. And was surprised how much effect it had.
But really, this journey definitely is not finished yet; and one thing is clear, whatever was before this Pluto-transit, there is no way to return to the old ways. The door to the past is closed. For real.
