Saturn Retrograde
By amiann | Published: March 23, 2012

Saturn is the planet of delays, restriction, patience and reaching a goal step by step. Saturn is a serious dude. He is the picture of a stern father. He is not an abusive but he will make you earn your allowance. He won’t lavish it on you freely. He will make you eat your vegetables before you have dessert. Saturn is the planet which rules Capricorn. Capricorn has strong shoulder with which to the weather the storms of life. One can lean on him when one needs sustenance. He is an old fashioned type. He hails old fashioned values such as loyalty and friendship. He is out of touch with modern society and it’s throw away relationships.Saturn is the bearer of Capricorn traits to the places in the chart which Saturn touches. So, all of us have Capricorn’s influence in our charts by way of Saturn.

Saturn Retro is an uber Saturn. Saturn Retro works and re-works Saturn. The Retrograde planets are a deep entering into the bowels of the planet. The native must understand all the planet entails in order to use that energy at all. The person with the Direct Saturn does not need to do so. The Direct Saturn individual does not have to develop the serious nature of the Retro Saturn. The Retro Saturn will develop a depth and a serious attitude toward life. He may be more mature and responsible. He has a deeper intimacy with the planet if he takes that journey . In middle age, he may loosen up as Saturn rewards one with maturity.Part of maturity is the ability to loosen up. Middle aged Retro Saturns do learn to laugh a little more as a result of the struggle. Retro Saturn is hard but brings rewards if one persists, which is true to the nature of Saturn.

Retrograde Planets
By amiann | Published: March 3, 2012 | Edit

The Retrograde is shown by a little R next to the planet. It is the sign of prescription drugs. The Retrograde planet is very different. Lets say that off the bat.It is like a serious father when compared to the Non Retrograde planet Picture a wise old owl. It is forced to be such. The Retrograde planet must go round and round in the matters of the planet before it can understand the domain of the planet. It may stay forever in the spiral, going round and round. One hopes it makes it out but I have seen many who seemed locked in a fun house from Hell caught in this loop. I have seen this with Venus Retrograde. However, Venus Retrograde may be the most apparent as the native seems unable to do what is needed to love and be loved.

The Retrograde planet is the kid who must stay home and look out the window while the other kids are playing . He cannot join because he must help his mother with the dishes. When he is done, the kids have all gone home. The life of the native of a Retrograde planet is different in the domain which the planet rules. Mercury Retrograde is the most common. This makes learning quirky. However, Mercury Retrograde is a positive Retrograde, in my humble opinion. I have it so can speak from experience. One has to learn in very methodical ways. The person must learn step by step. He cannot miss a step or he loses the whole trend and may have to start over. There is a building block type of learning. However, once he has it he can fly novel places . He can take what he has learned and fly unlike the traditionally Mercury. He may have strange quirks as not being able to copy mirror image movements but it is well made up for with flights of pure genius. The most important concept to remember with Retrograde planets is recycle. They go round and round trying to find the way out. When/if they do, they will be wise old owls. If they don’t, they seem locked in some nether place.

One thing I can say that's true for me that doesn't seem to be true for many:

I'll often "know" something without being able to say how. I'm not describing anything remotely psychic, but more being able to figure something out without having any idea how I got there.

Examples:
* Being able to know what's wrong with electronics without really troubleshooting. For instance, there was once something wrong with a system at work. I listened to the sound it was making, and said, "It's a broken Phoenix connector."
My boss (at the time) replied, "No, it's not - those don't go bad."
An hour of fiddling around later, it was a fouled Phoenix.
* Being able to describe the medium- to long-term outcomes of actions in political or anthropological study. When asked why or how I came to my conclusions, I can only reply, "It just makes sense. That's how things work." The "for instance" here: Once in an anthropology class we were given scenarios with rough background info and were supposed to, well, guess what would happen. These were based upon real past events, though we weren't told that. I described exactly what ended-up happening with no knowledge of the actual situation.
Freaked my professor out.
