Planets in predominately the lower half of the chart, especially the first house.Lots of Aries activity in a chart makes for a whole lot of 'me me me', too. IP: Logged |

I think Venus on the ASC in the first house can develop such a trait.IP: Logged |

Venus in the 1st or Venus-ASC can also indicate a bit of self-obsession for better or for worse, I agree Vicky.Leo ASC with Venus in the 1st, and Sun on the ASC, I noticed in someone, really does create secret narcissistic tendencies. They have admitted to me that they enjoy looking at themselves and looking in mirror, LOL. It's terrible. They have Venus in Virgo so they are also perfectionistic with their appearance at times. Hehe nope, I was talking about a current love interest. Yeah, he actually has his Sun on his ASC from the 12th house so he's not outwardly conceited. IP: Logged |

...Venus in Leo either in Ascendant (the ego) or in house 2 (Self worth)... same goes for Lots of Leo in your chart...- Aries is more about "me 1'st" - Leo is the one obsessed with the looks. Neptune in House 1 is a dangerous placement from this point of view (probably the worst placement for Neptune). IP: Logged |

I'd like to know more about this. Is it the worst because your self-image is contorted, and the image you project is not at all what the person is really like? Also, Juno on the ASC is one of those things I found out that the person is in love with themselves.

Does Sun in the 1st house act more like a Leo Sun or more like an Aries Sun? I've read both interpretations - not sure what's true though. IP: Logged |

The Rising sun has a lot to do with public image and the real world - and Neptune can come as a burden from this point of view... even worst if it's placed in Leo/Aries who feel at home in ASC.... it "drains" you (feeling tired quite often), it makes you lie to yourself, can make you feel helpless in some situations quite often (depends on how is aspected)... just "some" of the negative sides of Neptune in ASC... and maybe Marlin Monroe can be a good example for that (just one of many)... yes - helps in terms of being creative, especially if it's placed in Gemini (helps with writing - some of the greatest writers have this placement) but the way I see it... worst placements are: House 1 House 2 House 5 House 7 House 11 ...exactly in that order (have to go - but i can detail latter why - for the rest). The Sun is representative for Leo (center of attention) - wile Mars is representative for Aries (action) - one wants to be in center of attention the other wants to be first.

Everyone is self obsessed. If this study is anything to go by it would suggest that Gemini or a prominent Mercury are somewhere in the picture http://techland.time.com/2012/05/10/like-to-brag-on-facebook-or-twitter-thats-because-self-disclosure-is-like-eating-and-sex-says-study/ IP: Logged |

i have a 1st house stellium . Im not obsessed with myself but im pretty , confrontational and straightforward maybe thats cos my 3rd house is also aries and my sun is in the 3rd but i am kind of arrogant i think i know more than other people , i have alot of pride . I have Neptune on the rise it doesn't bother me much tho , it just makes others se what they want in me . IP: Logged |

All in conjunction or just those three in the house together? I'm just asking because the definition of stellium is still not clear to me. IP: Logged |

I'm not quite convinced that a person with a more Northern chart is that self-obsessed. I've met more people who are Southern heavy and are very much enthralled with themselves and have no Aries planets, no fire signs, but they do have their fire houses loaded up with the majority of their planets. My opinion is if a person has a lot of planets in their 1st, 5th, and 9th houses, they're going to into themselves. I have 3 planets in my 1st house and 3 planets in my 9th and I'm pretty self-conscious but since those planets are in air signs of Libra and Gemini, I'm concerned how I am in conjunction with society and my community. I have no fire planets other than Sagittarius in Neptune. IP: Logged |

Why the 9th? Isn't that about philosophy, traveling, spirituality and such? IP: Logged |

For a person to be interested in universal philosophies, they have to have a personal goal as far as how they see themselves playing their part in the whole scheme of things. Just because it's a universal house doesn't mean that it's not into being aware of the self. To be spiritual, it requires an extensive knowledge of the self to achieve 9th's ideal. To travel and expand your knowledge and experience is to promote self-discovery in the world you're a part of. Either way, 9th is concerned about the self and learning about how the world effects the self. But like I said previous, I've noticed those with super loaded 1st, 5th, and 9th to be self-absorbed. I didn't say it's an either or situation. I'm friends with plenty of people with loaded fire houses (all 3 houses of 1st, 5th, and 9th) and they're self interested. I have loaded up 1st and 9th and very self-interested. A lot of those people don't have any Aries planets nor fire signs. I'm convinced the houses play a stronger role in determining interests.
