I'm curious to know the effects of a conjunction between Venus and the DSC in synastry. I know that a conjunction to the ASC would indicate a physical attraction, being the others "type," etc. So, what would a conjunction to the DSC mean? Is it just as potent? And, if you've had this before, please share your experiences

My venus is exactly conjunct my best friends DSC. People come and go in here life, but I'm the one who still remains. She's my partner in crime & since we are dealing with the descendant, I have traits that she admires.

He has traits that i admire and i love just everything about him. But it's really wide, so i think these are other aspects that play the role here. My Moon on his SN, for example. But i adore his Venus in Pisces!

Thanks for the replies!

So, is it fair to say that the DSC feels the attraction more, since the Venus person embodies those traits?

Also, since it could also be interpreted as Venus opposite the ASC, would that mean the attraction is a little off-putting initially? Like, "you're so not my type, but I like you for some reason..."

Please correct me if I'm wrong, there isn't anything substantial that I can find on this aspect.

My ex and had this at 1* orb and I was the DSC person. The initial attraction was mutual but after about 2 years together, I lost a lot of my respect for him and things dies down and out. He wanted to stay and work at things but I ended it after almost 6 years together.

His moon was also in my 7th, his Venus was square my Sun/mercury 0-1*.

Well the Dsc rules what we look for in a partner, and the Asc rules our own persona…

If there is a Venus/Asc conjuction the Venus person loves the other person’s persona, while the Asc person feels supported and reinforced in their own personality by the Venus person’s affectionate, gracious attitude.

If there is a Venus/Dsc conjunction the Venus person loves the Dsc person’s style of relating, while the Dsc person admires that how the Venus person has qualities that they like, and may feel they lack.

Both aspects can lead to a physical or romantic attraction. Whenever Venus aspects the Dsc, it also aspects the Asc, because if it’s conjunct one, it’s still opposite the other… And since the Asc is related to the physical body and Venus rules beauty, there is a strong likelihood of attraction.

I've NEVERRRR had this with anyone in synastry. But I have Mars in someone's 7th and he wants to hump my brains out, to be perfectly bald and vulgar about it.

I think that's what I was most unsure of, whether an opposition to the ASC would mean more of a turn off physically for the partners. But, apparently, both aspects are good, lol!

I always appreciate reading your posts Lotis White

Aaww. Why Thanks!

Oh yeah, oppositions to work fine for attraction and so do squares. While soft aspects lead to a flowing, smooth type of attraction, hard aspects tend more towards intensity and drama. The tricky thing is that hard aspects can sometimes signify an extremely strong attraction, sometimes signify a repulsion, and sometimes signify both (an attraction/repulsion) with the same person. Hard aspects can go either way.

With Venus/Asc aspects though, you're more likely to get attraction as a result, then not. The Asc is symbolically linked to the sign Aries and the planet Mars. So a Venus/Asc aspect will have some similarities to a Venus/Mars aspect. Also, the Dsc is symbolically linked to the sign Libra and the planet Venus, so a Venus/Dsc aspect is kind of like a Venus/Venus aspect. Anytime Venus aspects the angles you get a 'double whammy' in the sense that Venus will be aspecting two important points at one time. You get the flavor of Venus/Mars and Venus/Venus all rolled into one.

Having Venus conjunct the Asc is similar to having Venus conjunct Mars and Venus opposite Venus in synastry. And having Venus conjunct the Dsc is similar to having Venus opposite Mars and Venus conjunct Venus in synastry. Though, I suspect that actual planet to planet aspects are a little more potent in terms of the physical attraction they generate. This is may be because planets are actual physical things that have mass, while the Asc is more just a significant point. Still, Venus to the Asc/Dsc axis undeniably does make you appreciate someone's looks and charm. By itself, Venus aspecting the Asc/Dsc axis will of course create some degree of physical attraction. Only I think it's better to have this supported by some actual planet to planet indications of physical attraction in the synastry as well.

If you have other aspects in synastry that indicate a physical attraction, then Venus to the Asc/Dsc axis will strongly enhance this, as well as adding a lot of sweetness and warmth to the relationship.
