So, since the new planets were discovered and rulerships as we know them no longer work like this: Have you found that your birthtime and the dual rulership over signs affect you, somehow? i.e. Pisces- Day Ruler: Neptune Night Ruler: Jupiter Scorpio- Day Ruler: Pluto Night Ruler: Mars Aquarius- Day Ruler: Uranus Night Ruler: etc.. So, if you were born during the day, does the day ruler affect that house in your chart more? That's basically the question.. quote: Just want to add a quote in case you guys are wondering as to why I won't say that last one by name: "It was considered imprudent and dangerous to mention the names of certain gods and goddesses. Thus the Furies, or Cronies, were called Eumenides (Kindly Ones), and Hades was called Pluto (Rich One)." Since Jupiter overthrew him, i'm just trying to show my gratitude, i guess...

It's just those three, i believe.. Taurus is still known to be ruled by Venus.

Who says they no longer work the way they used to? This is one theory out of many, that doesn't necessarily prove that the standard astrology rulerships are incorrect. And actually I don't remember ever seeing these particular rulerships in your chart anywhere but in Esoteric Astrology, which is a totally separate branch from standard mainstream western astrology and has its own set of rules and is its own system. So what you just did is akin to mixing apples and oranges, which isn't the correct way to do things anyway and will only give you an inaccurate reading. It makes about as much sense as having 2+2 in front of you, but deciding to multiply them, and then being upset when what you get is the wrong answer. So yeah, your title is apt (albeit misspelled), just not in the way you think. Comparing two totally different systems that are "night and Day" to one another, and then expecting it to work somehow anyway... IP: Logged |

Germane: quote: "Many modern astrologers assign what is called a 'natural' rulership of each house of the horoscope to a different planet, in the same way as the zodiac signs are said to have rulers. Traditionally, however, rulership of houses was understood to apply only in the individual birth-chart, in what is called an 'accidental' rulership. In this case, co-rulership of a house in the 'native's' horoscope is shared by planets that rule the sign on the cusp and any sign intercepted within the house and planets occupying that house. There are several different scenarios that one can use to determine rulership of a house:-If by chance the first house cusp is, say, 0 degrees Aries and the second house cusp is 0 degrees Taurus, the house will be ruled solely by Aries. If, for example, the second house cusp is 0 degrees Taurus and the third house cusp is 5 degrees Gemini then the house will have Venus as its primary ruler and Mercury as its secondary ruler. If, as an example, the fourth house cusp has 27 degrees Libra on it and the fifth house cusp has 8 degrees Sagittarius then the house will be intercepted. It will have Venus as its primary ruler, but in addition to Venus, Pluto, Mars, and Jupiter will be secondary rulers. When a person attempts to determine the rulership of a house, the more planets or bodies that rule that house will reveal its complexity. Generally, the sign on the cusp will be the outward representation of the rulership, but the ruler of the sign inside the house will not be readily apparent, but will manifest itself at critical points in a person's life." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domicile_(astrology)#section_2

Nope no change for me I still think Taurus is ruled by Venus. PLus the moon never changes rulership it just has a bunch of goddesses sitting on its craters complaining about sharing one little rock.IP: Logged |

I've always thought that the original rulers of a the signs Scorpio, Aquarius, and Pisces, actually stayed with those signs as sub-ruler, while the modern ruler had a more dominating role in ruling the sign. And that this has noting to do with whether it's night or day when you were born. For instance, Pisces would have Neptune as it's dominant ruler, while Jupiter would stay on as sub-ruler. At least that's how I look at it. When I'm checking out house rulers I always look at the traditional ruler, as well as the modern ruler, to make sure I'm not missing any interesting information. I also use both, traditional and new. The traditional system hasnīt lost any value, just because new planets were found.

I don't believe in the old rulers at all. I just ignore it when I hear them being listed as "co-rulers" with another planet (same way I treat house systems that I don't use--just stop reading and move onto the next thing). To me, the real and correct rulers of the planets have always been the new ones. The planets just weren't discovered before. I tend to believe what Linda said about Virgo and Taurus having their own rulers too, and Venus and Mercury belonging to Libra and Gemini respectively. IP: Logged |

Has anyone paid any attention at all as to if they're more sensitive to transits of one planet and not so much the other in the corresponding houses depending on night or day birth?IP: Logged |
