Topic: Self sabatoge aspect...What is semi sq ur planets, do u shoot urself in the foot?

I started looking deeper and realized this isnt an aspect that just creates tension, its an aspect that disillusions us into self sabotage. In astrology, a semi-square is an astrological aspect that two planets make when they are 45° apart from each other. The semi-square is considered to be the 8th harmonic of the chart because it is one-eighth of the 360° circle that the zodiac resides in (i.e., 360 / 8 = 45). The semi-square is considered to be a minor hard aspect because it is thought to cause friction in the native's life and prompt them to take some action to reduce that friction. For example, if the Sun is posited in 10° Aquarius and Venus is posited in 25° Pisces then a semi-square would occur. This is thought to indicate that the native is not likely to be totally happy in matters of love. The native is thought to have a tendency to seek out those individuals who are not necessarily compatible to them, and this may lead to a sense of tension and actions to correct what to them may be frustration. Yes!! I started a thread related to this a while ago that got no replies lol, but I could not agree more, thanks for starting these threads Gabby! 
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/215597.html I have Capricorn Sun semi-square Sag moon, and I definitely feel there is self-sabatoge involved, because whether I'm following my head or my heart (sun/moon so to speak) either my emotions and sense of happiness, or my goals and sense of security end up being neglected, and obviously they both need to be working on the same page for either to be lasting or worthwhile. It really is hard to find a balance... Although I read somewhere that the inner tension this aspect leads to causes the individual to "ask for more from life in general" so I think working at it is worth it, just very frustrating lol IP: Logged |

TY! I agree with you, i think this as aspect that really needs more attention! I couldn't agree more, I have quite a few of these, and im starting to realize there is just mild "tweaks" in my way of thinking that can change everything! Its getting your whole self to rise above the two energies and see reality and react in accordance!! IP: Logged |

I have Mercury in Leo semi-square Venus in Gemini and Moon in Gemini semi-square Chiron in Cancer.Basically I have this natural friction between what I feel and what I think. Despite having Mercury square Pluto with adds a bit more bluntness to the way I speak and express myself the semi-square is more annoying than extremely bothersome. IP: Logged |

I have my leo saturn, semi sq my virgo moonI do feel i have to much responsibilities to stop and take time for myself, i feel i must sacrifice taking care of myself emotionally in order to take care of everyone else. My moon is semi square my scorpio uranus and my asteroid lilith(1181) My lack of ability to take care of myself emotionally has made me reactive at times, i feel like if i don't do it and do it now, ill never get my needs met, so sometimes out of the blue i'll do things abruptly, kind of out of desperation and anger over not getting my needs met. Libra venus-Saggy merc/sun
I feel like i'll never be able to find a relation that will really be fulfilling, it stresses me out so much that i don't even try to meet ppl.

The way i think i should be see affects my destiny, i need to realize i don't have to be seen a certain way in order to be growing into my N.Node?

Semi-squares are just a milder version of a...square. They don't even symbolize self-sabotage; that's 12th house placements.IP: Logged |
