To me, this synastry aspect speaks of a potential savior/saved issue going on. Neptune will seek the Sun's lightening effect (and other effects depending on the Sun sign) and ability to shed light on its watery, hazy depths while the Sun struggles to maintain this role as the savior to the saved. The Sun meanwhile, can feel things are unclear and foggy with Neptune. This frustrates them and makes them feel like they are, at times, drowning a little in these Neptunian seas... but not with pleasure, more with anxiety and concern over Neptune and the relationship itself. I've seen it come up, even for myself, with accidental disillusioned feelings, but more so with Neptune addicted to some substance, drugs or alcohol or both, and the Sun feeling responsible like they have to 'save' them or take care of the problem. Neptune brings out the Sun's savior complex, but this can wear on the Sun after a while, I think. They want Neptune to stop dodging questions and evading the truth. But Neptune always seems to disappear at crucial moments and seem distant when the Sun needs them to start materializing. This only leads the Sun to feel more responsible for Neptune's behaviors, possible self-destructive ones. Any experiences with this aspect in synastry as either planet? I'd love to hear back. ------------------ "Perfect love casts out fear." -Anthony de Mello IP: Logged |

In my experience; everything you've mentioned, but, with the roles reversed.IP: Logged |

I certainly could see the chance of things going a bit differently depending on the Sun sign and other aspects. I could see Sun in Pisces as the most basic interpretation of how it could be reversed.... Would you mind elaborating more on the situation if you're up for sharing?

My husband has sun opposed to Neptune natally and I have sun square Neptune natally. In Synastry we have it both ways...sun square and sun opposed Neptune. He saved me and continues to do so through surgeries, my lupus and even through the abusive marriage I was leaving when we first met. I on the other had have saved him in regards to poor choices he has made financially and with some health stuff. So for us, it's part of our karma together.I use the word saved in regards to being by each others side and not letting each other down when we were wayyy down. IP: Logged |

Well, you pretty much nailed it on the head but i've been the neptune on a few occasions and they've been avid drinkers.. One only got it together because she ended up getting pregnant because if not, she'd still be driving against traffic even til this day. Both had been in abusive relationships.. Neptune wanted to look out for them and wake em up to get out of there and finally, Neptune came to realize that they were "just like everyone else". Not much else to say. Make sure your neptune wasn't under aspect by anything else in their chart because it is never really the Sun that goes through any of the things you mentioned. IP: Logged |

His sun square my neptune. Mine conjunct his. Idk we both have 12th house neptune and my sun conj neptune in the 12th too so yah I guess that's why we don't find it difficult. No savior complex for us. No self-destructive habits. I played around with drugs and whatnot some years ago, but dropped the habit quick enough. Just mutual understanding and connection. We've been through similar things so it's easy to understand each other's past and how it has shaped us. It's easy to let him see my vulnerabilities. I have never had to explain much. He just knows. It feels strangely peaceful. IP: Logged |

^You're welcome jjj.The conjunction is closer in orb. And yes I agree that dw makes it easier to deal with. I read that one problem with neptune is that it may create illusion. In our synastry, saturn aspects balance things out. His is in my 10th, sextile my asc. Mine is in his 1st, conj his asc. We're understanding/forgiving but don't make excuses for bad behaviours. Nothing gets swept under the rug. IP: Logged |

I have my neptune square my s.o's sun very tight. I don't know…we haven't really experienced this yet. The only thing is that our relationship is maybe a bit "unsure" but it doesn't really matter… We are both very romantic and I think he is very romantic towards me… we like to be creative together, dream and just listen to music. I think neptune is one of the greatest to have involved in synastry because it makes the couple romantic, artistic and dreamy…but that is just my opinion! We have only been together for a little less than a year btw, so of course some of these issues could come up in the future EDIT: According to drugs, he had a problem before he met me, but he doesn't do drugs anymore… I used to go out a lot but doesn't do that anymore either. He has neptune square sun in his own chart and I have neptune square mercury, so neptune is kind of familiar with us both! IP: Logged |

We have Sun square Neptune with my boyfriend. It’s weird because I’m the Neptune and my partner is the Sun, yet I’m the one who can’t trust him. He is hiding things about his past, he was hanging out with a girl while we were in long-distance relationship and he talked to girls on Skype. He doesn't do these things anymore (we also live together now) but still... I can't fully trust him. He is an Aries sun, Capricorn ASC and Moon in Gemini. I’m Cancer sun, Libra ASC and Moon in Taurus.IP: Logged |
