I have been reading about astrology for many years now, I have even tried to "quit" astrology many times after becoming angered by yet another damning report on the Feb/March born characters. I know this is Linda Land but after reading Linda's description of the Pisces woman in Sun Signs I pretty much had steam coming out of my ears!!!I was born into a life where I have had no choice but to be strong, I wont bore you with the details, we all have our pasts..... But I consider myself very strong physically and mentally. I dont recognise myself in alot of Pisces descriptions, except say the empathy, insight and intuition which i have in spades. (I'm a trainee Nurse so that kind of speaks for itself) I dont rely on the kindness of strangers, I rely on myself. I'm a single mother to three incredible kids, two of which are Scorpios and one Aries. Any other Pisceans know what I mean? Would also be interested to hear from other signs what they think.... I get it. I too have Dominant Pisces and though i have't read sun signs in decades, i also feel that we are misunderstood. Try to always remember that astrology is just one person's opinion. Just wanted you to know that i understand your dilemma. I have grown tired of fatalistic interpretations of natal positions too. All Pisces are not floating around "out there somewhere." Pisces do make wonderful contributions to this planet. Sorry steam came out of your ears. That must have hurt. IP: Logged |

Hi! Thanks for the welcome :-)Redscorp, you're right the rest of the chart does contribute...thing is I have a Pisces stellium, so by all intents and purposes I'm a "Uber-Pisces" haha! According to the Walter Pullen method of calculating dominant signs (astro.com) I am Pisces dominant, second dominant sign being Scorpio, then Cancer. My point is I'm very Piscean but feel very different to the text book descriptions I read and I think that Pisces as a sign generally gets a bad rap. it's been referred to as the armpit of the zodiac, or the zodiac dumping ground! I'm like, "Jesus, it wasn't my fault I was concieved in June!!!" I always felt Linda Goodman's tone was slightly patronising when it came to describing female Pisceans - I apologise if i have offended anyone with that view. I hear what you say about the whale type piscean (I always remind people the Great White is a fish....) IP: Logged |

I agree.Pisces are very strong internally. Because they are wise and have paitence they can endure a whole lot more. They generally see the world beyond them selves through intuition as a Water Sign trait and so I actually find that they have great judgement skills. All the ones I have met and am close to anyway.

Interesting you should say that, it's hard to find a clear definition of Mars in the 8th. it seems either very good or very bad, depending on the source. It also seems difficult to define it's purpose in that house.IP: Logged |

Mars in the Eighth...I'm thinking tenacity. The Eighth is challenging and changing yourself or your surroundings, and with Mars, I think you'd be good at sticking through things. If you face a change, you'll face it head on. Pisces can be pretty stubborn, but not very in-your-face, so with Mars, I think you'll be good at keeping your ground.IP: Logged |

Redscorp, I dont know for anyone else with an H8 Mars, but for me thats a very accurate analogy. I have lived in five different countries, moved approximately every 3-7 years and had to literally start again, sometimes with a new language and culture. Guess you could say I'm a gypsy at heart. My motto through the darkest periods has always been "you just have to get on with it" because you do, especially with little people dependant on you.So, yeah - what can I say? very accurate indeed. Thank you for your insight.... IP: Logged |

Yes I do, but otoh I'm grateful that I'm not a male Pisces iykwim (!) Pisces is a very feminine sign so to be born a woman under this we're much more at home. But what does it mean to be a woman, I think that's the crux we're under as a gender, but to you perhaps it means being strong, which fits in this day and age v.nicely. I've not yet met a Pisces who's not comfortable being a woman, however she defines that, personally. Tell about the aspects to your Sun so that we can get a clearer picture of how it operates? Also Moon and Venus signs, as well? And welcome to LL IP: Logged |

yes I do know what you mean! ;-) I think Adam Levine typlifies the male Pisces - there's alot of masochistic tendancies in his videos. He's often getting beaten up or pushed about by women, then there's the copious amounts of ink on his body (which I am a fan of I must add)Then at the other end of the scale we have Chuck Norris....!! Thank for the welcome btw :-) IP: Logged |

Late Response............ Ha! But say that to George Washington (Taurus Rising) who was anything but feminine and John Wayne Gacy who was a vicious rapist serious killer (a double Pisces BTW). I'm already a living proof contrary to the stereotype. While I already know I;ll be a GORGEOUS (or at least a Gooooooodddd-looooooking) fellow before Summer 2013, I'm anything but effeminate and frail in physical appearance and constitution.I won't deny I do have some androgynous features but overall I LOOOK SCORPIO and am Scorpio in physical constitution and mental willpower. I also have a stellium in Pisces - Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars in the eigth and ninth houses. I read somewhere with Pisces that other signs can come through more so than Pisces. So I feel like a Pisces but also my Gemini ascendant is quite strong and my venus in capricorn. But I also feel pisces is often interpreted as a weak, wishy washy sign. It is not - there is a lot going on internally it's just that we are quite secretive and selective about what we say and to whom, and we are not agressive towards others. But that doesn't mean we don't have the resources to get through difficult situations. I've known quite a few Pisces and they are all intelligent, thoughtful, caring people not stupid or ditzy or weak as we are often portrayed. IP: Logged |

I think the moon sign if anything is more important than the sun when it comes to personality. A lot of people who don't know about astrology consider it BS since not every sun sign person is going to be the same.IP: Logged |

Hey Pisces-Sweety, you're welcome! As Kerosene mentioned above, it is true that alot of people do consider sunsign astrology BS (most people I know in reality consider astrology to be BS fullstop). I try and bear that in mind but it can be frustrating when you read negative text after text about your own sign which was the point of this post. But I guess it's all about keeping perspective, I can read sunsign traits for all the other 11 signs and identify with them, as I can with some Pisces traits. I have reached a point where I can understand people who disregard astrology completely as you simply cannot catagorise millions of people into 12 sets of character traits. I have met enough reserved, quiet Leos, party animal Capricorns, ditzy Scorpios and loud, impatient Taureans (etc, etc) to prove that. I resist the urge to find out a persons sign when I meet them - I almost dont want to know now. It's like having to retrain my brain so as not to bias them into one catagory. IP: Logged |

Glad to hear there are so many strong, admirable Pisces I like that.My favorite actress Rachel Weisz has a mega stellium in Pisces if I've ever seen one... Sun, Moon, Merc, Venus, Node. I'm sure that helps with the acting! I've also noticed that the roles she plays are strong female characters with distinctly humanitarian bent Very very Strong-Pisces! I have Sun conjunct Pluto in Scorpio 11H + loads of fiery outer planets in Sag and Aries. But my Pisces moon... let me tell you... it wrecks me!!! I can imagine myself to be capable of taking on giants, but ***feeling everything*** can just as easily reduce me to tears. Phew! IP: Logged |
