Hi, according to planetary dignities, which one in this conjunction is stronger? Mars in Libra or Pluto in Libra.

Mars is in detriment in Libra. Pluto is in fall in Libra and in accordance with some sources in detriment in Libra.

Which planet is leading in close conjunction?

I suppose Pluto would be the leader, as Mars is in detriment like you said. But I haven't heard of Pluto being weak in Libra (or strong in Aries) before.

I read that Pluto is exalted in Leo...

Thank you, I have heard it couple of times but have never understood which one is stronger as the information differs depending on the sources.

well see ...
I read this somewhere , new rulers introduced by modern astrology : uranus, neptune and pluto , don't have any form of energy as exaltation, fall and detriment.

Hmm, could be.

Found it. Sue Tompkins, The Contemporary Astrologerīs Handbook:

Pluto rules Scorpio, is exalted in Aries, in detriment is in Taurus and in fall in Libra.

But thinking about how it might feel, Pluto would feel pretty well in Leo, it provides power, while in Libra it would be more diplomatic, thus weaker. I donīt know how it would feel in Aries, though...

Pluto Exalted in Aries - Both Aries and Pluto love change and all that is new.

Pluto in Fall in Libra - the sign of the balance, seeks neither change nor anything new.

Pluto is exalted in Aries. Pluto in the position contributes to a powerful character with remarkable recuperative powers. Sexually sadism and violence is indicated. This person is a violent and dangerous character who has murderous tendencies. This placement is often associated with war and soldiers. This placement would make a fine surgeon also.

Pluto in Libra is in its fall. Pluto Libra portends difficulty through marriage, partnerships and open enemies. Relationships can lead to sweeping change. There could be violence or domestic abuse within a marriage. This placement is often associated with the death of a spouse. It is an excellent placement for legal research or paralegal.

makes a bit of sense

Aries is about birth. Pluto is about rebirth through transformation. Not the same.

I seriously doubt Pluto is exalted in Aries and in fall in Libra. I don't believe Pluto has an exaltation or fall sign, only domicile and detriment.

This question is about which planet is stronger.

This isn't even a competition. Mars will win hands down. This isn't just an opinion either. When it comes to strength, this is Mars domain. He is the fighter, he is the soldier, he is the gladiator, he is the competitor, he is the warrior and he cannot be defeated. He is number one.

When it comes to Pluto, he is the investigator, he is the private detective, he is the captivator, he is the Shaman, he is the door to the ultimate truth. What good does fighting have for Pluto? He is master of his own domain and is above the realm of fighting because he is all too familiar with life's mysterious and why fighting occurs in the first place. He can see through it all and transforms you with his touch, that gives you all knew knowledge of what life is really about. In that way, he transforms you.

Like I said, this is not a competition here. Does a Psychologist or a Shaman step into the cage and fight hand to hand with a trained killer? No. Not only is it not his forte-he is not even about it.

Let's take for example a person who has a strong Mars placement(Mars Conjunct Sun) vs someone with a strong Pluto placement (Pluto Conjunct Sun) and see what happens. I've seen this episode before in real life. The Pluto person may (maybe out of foolishness) try to go against, compete, fight with the Mars Conjunct Sun person only to realize that he is no match for the Martian. He is quickly overcome and dominated by the Martian(I've seen it personally).
But...

The Pluto person may have something in store for the Martian that he or she never realized. That there are forces out there beyond the Martians control-a destiny of events to take place-that the Pluto person has Conjured, not to win, but to realize on a higher level-to be transformed by such an experiance that you see life in a new light that you would have before. Death and Rebirth.

Not to say that Pluto cannot hurt unsuspecting Mars. There are plenty of people who misuse this planets energy to create extremely negative events-and in doing so, they have only hurt themselves in the long run. That's when Saturn steps in for he is the ultimate judge. Even in such a case that a person misuses the power of Pluto over the unsuspecting Martin, that is not even a victory. That's just predatory behavior that anyone could do-with evil intentions. It has proven nothing...

I'd have to say Pluto will win out in the end. Mars will wear himself out fighting, while Pluto conserves his energy, always operating with the end in mind.

Consider not only the sign but the house. Is either planet in rulership, exaltation, debility or fall by house position?

Pluto is not in fall in Libra.
It's neutral.

Pluto in Virgo is in fall, since it's exalted in Pisces.

That's how I learned it as well. Rules Scorpio and in detriment in Taurus.

I also agree with SerpeantKing that Mars is stronger though Pluto will influence.

Pluto is the higher octave of Mars and basically Mars on steroids AND purified.

In short there's no way in hell that Mars is ever stronger than Pluto.
