We all here already know that there's more to compatibility than just "mere Sun Sign" and that is why so many relationships using Astrology don't work out-the only look at the Sun Sign.

I do have some questions for the Moon and Rising sign as far as compatibility goes.

Would the Rising Sign be most important for "first impressions" (asking a girl out, flirting) and for the first phase of the relationship (just dating and no close stuff)?I'm curious as the Rising Sign is supposed to represent your outer self.

And is the Moon Sign supposed to be most important once you both get to know each other as by the point in a relationship you both start falling in love with each other and start sharing personal stuff and secrets? When finally you start thinking and even having **** for each other and planning for marriage?I mean the Moon sign is supposed to be your inner self isn't it?

I mean I read of stuff where people have incompatible Sun Signs and don't get along well at first but once they start revealing their hidden self (which have compatible Moon Signs) they start totally melting for each other. And I read stuff in which people have perfectly compatible rising signs and when they first start dating they seem perfect for each other but once they get more intimate and deeper to their personal self, the relationship gets crushed in an instant (and analysis shows their Moon Signs are not compatible).

Am I correct here?

moon signs can have a huge effect on ones relationship...and so does venus and mars and saturn and jupiter and mercury XD

if it was up to sun signs alnoe the world would be far too simple XD

it depends on the entire synastry...from what i know good moon to moon aspects can make a relationship long term...or a very good friendship

(also everytime i see your location i see "catholic altair" what is that?)

Sort of. Your descriptions of it are still so simplistic in regards to synastry connections. The ASC/DSC are powerful points in a natal chart and you will definitely have a strong connection to whomever activates those points (same with MC/IC).

Relationships where two people seem very compatible and then turn out to not be so describes instances where maybe the ASC and Moon are in trining signs, but don't actually FORM a trine (out of orb). But this isn't limited to just ASC/Moon, this could be said of Moon/Moon or Sun/Moon or Sun/Venus, etc. Or it could be an instance of hard aspects, such as Venus square Mars.

Synastry is a complex discipline.

The Ascendant axis AND Moon are both important in synastry.

I have an Asc moon contact with someone I know and I must say, it is pretty uncomfortable. My emotions are all out there for him to see.

When I was young, I was a huge fan of Julia Roberts, thought Ben Affleck was a dork(and put him down constantly to anyone who supported him).

The two movie stars mentioned both have Cancer Asc. So I guess, having the moon-Asc aspect contact with a person does not make you indifferent to them. No matter how big the orb.For real!

I have found over the years that I find myself attracted to people who have their sun conj. my moon sign and/or their moon sign conj. my rising. Do houses weave themselves into the web. I think they do.

Live by the sun.
Love by the moon.

I'm very adamant about having rising sign compatibility with someone. Its more important than sun sign compatibility. I'm a Sagittarius ASC and I've been most compatible with either Aquarius or Leo ASC and fellow Sag ASC.

i think you're correct. the rising sign is the first impression someone gives off - so you'd be drawn to them (or not), and their sun sign would probably be more obvious at the beginning. then, like you said, as relationship progresses the moon begins to come into play and you either 'get' one another or not emotionally.

I agree with this as well. moon = inner. by sun sign my husband and I are incompatible. but we last 13 yrs. 12 of it married. I looked it up in cafeastrology and found some significant compatibility aspects such as venus conjunct moon, moon conjunct rising.
with men whose sun conjunct my moon, I actually don't feel any attraction. with the women, we often end up good friends.
