Pluto is in capricorn and will stay there until late 2024, so anyone who has few personal planets in cardinal signs is in for a ride with pluto transiting and making hard aspects to them
So do any of you have some advice, some things to keep in mind about pluto transit for those of us who might have to deal with it for the next 12 years and maybe more...?

So far pluto was conjunct my sun and I can only attest to pluto stereotype of dark thoughts, gloominess, isolation etc.. It just sucked the life right out of me.It kind of scares me to see that I may have to deal with pluto's energy for many years again.(yes I was crazy enough to check astro.com for transits and realized that by somewhere around 2028 pluto will have transited over my sun, neptune, saturn, descendant, mercury, moon and venus! and my north node will still be left.)

By the way I found this article while searching for some advice about pluto transit: http://www.lynnkoiner.com/astrology-articles/survival-tips-for-the-pluto-transit

Pluto transits are the ultimate of the "outer" planets in transit.

You dont handle them, you just be-come.

They are life life changing and are meant to be so~

so far Pluto transit in Capricorn hasn't affected me much. the only thing noticeable about Pluto transit was its transit in Scorpio/Sag my 1st house. out of the sudden I became popular and attractive without much effort. I always got what I needed e.g. partner (money related, romance or just sex) also competition. much like the axis 1st-7th house was highlighted. now transiting Capricorn all that slowed down. I only see it affecting Capricorn suns that I know. but as you said it will affect those with planets in cardinal signs. I only have 1 or two in cardinal signs and very late degree, so probably I will experience it 2020 and beyond. I'll bookmark the article, thanks for posting it

I already went through most of my Pluto transits in terms of cardinal planets. My Sun and Venus are at 2 & 3 degrees Cancer so I dealt with the opposition for a few years since Pluto Rx'd over them a few times.

I'm not going to lie. It was hard but I also am predisposed to that energy as I have the square natally. I'm still in the midst of Pluto square Pluto.

All I can do is repeat what is already stated here so far which is that you must change and transform. You can do it willingly or you can resist but it will happen.

My best advice is to go with the flow as much as possible. Confront any darkness and move through it as opposed to attempting to go over, around or away from it. Change can feel scary, especially big Pluto changes but those changes are always for a reason

Yes, pluto change is unavoidable and as Sorcha mentionned, there is no use attempting to resist it.
What worries me the most about pluto transits though is the depression that comes with it. It doesn't get mentioned a lot but while reading people's experiences of pluto transit to personal planets (especially sun or moon) depression seems like a recurrent theme of what people go through internally. It might be necessary with pluto being associated with death/destruction and rebirth and a depressed state of mind might just be the manifestation of great changes and cleansing happening inside.

I don't think they are to be handled, per se,but to be endured. Pluto knocks you down, and you need to rise again.
The Pluto transits are about control & survival. Survival is something you can absolutely own,but control is only in half measures - there are greater, more powerful forces than you. In turn, you become a powerhouse, but with knowledge and experience of eternal season/luck changing and the necessity of construction/destruction/re-construction.

I benefited greatly when tPluto conj my nMoon.

Ceri, I would think the conjunction esp to an asc would be quite life altering, but sloooooow.

Gives me the shivers just thinking about it.

It's like one day one looks back and say "what happened!"

The thing is it happened so much and yet nothing really happened at all. It`s still hard to grasp, as it is very much an internal process having been taken place.

but I must say I have been through a slew of Pluto transits (as I have Mars, ASC, Neptune, NN, Mercury and Sun in Sagittarius, and before that Pluto was squaring Moon), so it`s been with me for many years.

Anyway I always experience the Tr Uranus in challenging aspects to my natal Venus as very electric and carefree and joyful.

there is no handling Pluto
it handles you.
The most important thing to remember about Pluto
is it does no good to resist change
Pluto will beat you down until you submit
The best thing to do is work with it and try to adapt, it's not easy but in the Looong run it's for the best...

and they call Pluto a dwarf planet
go figure

I'm going through pluto square pluto & saturn square saturn at the same time. Tis not been fun. I agree with above, you cannot resist change; pluto demands to tear down & rebuild. I've had many months of just feeling paralyzed & tired of the status quo. Saturn is giving me my karmic lessons, while pluto will allow me to transform. As for "dealing" with it; I spend alot of time relaxing and listening to music.

I'm so glad to see this thread. I've been meaning to start one on Pluto because I've been going through it for the past four years.

I have mars, mercury, and sun in Capricorn in the 2nd house. Since Pluto started approaching Capricorn, it was probably in the last degrees of Sagittarius in my first house, I became pregnant (it was unplanned) and therefore my life has completely changed. It was forced change but now I'm in a better place: the first three years of my daughter's birth were aweful, bad, I lost control, my footing, everything I owned, had to move in with family but since then, and through hard work and thanks to Pluto, I'm on the road to financial stability and re-establishing my independence. Pluto is transiting my second house (values, ressources) and last spring while it was trining Jupiter in taurus and my six house, I got offered a job without me having to do much and the salary was way more than what I thought it would be...it just was surreal. Because two years earlier, I just couldn't get anything: it was interview after interviews...anyway

Pluto has been conjuncting my mars for the past two years I would say and when it's exact I'm burning with rage...it's like fire from deep from my solar plexus and anything that stands on my way can be destroyed by my implacable assertiveness. Anything that hasn't been functioning in my life is being purged sometimes with pain and crying but I feel so good through it all because for someone with a venus in pisces and neptune in the 1st house, I struggle too much at times (despite a natal mars square pluto) to assert myself and my needs in relationships. Pluto is power and it's conjunction with natal mars is the kind of anger and rage that makes you aware of your power in dealing with things...it's exhilarating at times. but can be very dangerous if not recognized: I realized it last year because I was getting into angry fit with anyone who crossed me. knowing the cause now, I control it better and know the source.

So far I'm loving my pluto transit. not because it's all rosy...far from it...with the pluto-uranus square it's wrecked havoc of my summer and relationship with my ex, but it is for good: I feel so much better understanding all the subtle clues of manipulation in relationships that didn't and won't function for me anymore.
by the way: ex is having pluto in his 4th house and it's funny how astrology nails it right when it comes to these major transit
I'm not looking forward to Pluto on my sun but after mars, I know now what the energy is. I keep track of transits since having gone through the first cycle of my pluto transits because it allows me to understand my life better and keep going with the flow..I didn't think much of transits until Pluto started transforming my life: now it's fight with Uranus has been so spot on that now I'm willing to swear by transits, at least the biggies. Uranus is in my 5th btw.

pluto is squaring my asc exact today

ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuu

it's brutal...i saw it so clearly yesterday, within the family, on my mums side...with my uncle in particular. unfortunately it was only after the event when i thought it through that i saw the old skool power plays for what they were and NO i am not being paranoid.

soooo fuminggg. is this level of rage normal for a pluto/asc transit? lol. it would be so easy for me to cut ties and just let go, but i think pluto would rather i pick apart every last tangled thread and piece it back together again properly...ughhhhhhh

pluto has already squared my sun and moon...surely this can't be harsher than that?

sorry to bump old thread but it doesn't warrant one of its own i just had to get this out

guess could be the fact i have mars-pluto opp natally then, coming through with this transit. even tho it's not transiting my mars, i don't think i'll live to see that one tho thankfully

What does tpluto in the first house mean?Pluto is transiting my 1st house capricorn. Is that what makes me so obsessive? I'm obsessing about salsa classes, zumba dance classes, when I like a song I can play it like 50 times in a day. Anyways, I was always obsessing about one thing or the other so besides my normal obsessive streak I don't know how tpluto is affecting my life except that I attract guys who are obsessive perverts!

i have pluto conjunct venus transit and have been caught in this twisted spell for a couple of years. it has been quite a journey both good and bad but i will be glad when its over in october.

sex and intimacy has been intense as have the feelings of love and obsession. both from me and from other men and women aimed at me..it seems like the ones i want i have yet lose and the ones i dislike get obsessed and cause me endless problems..( i have had 2 obsessive female stalker types).

bring on october and compatible lovers..

p.s luckily the last few months i have had a more stable aspect from saturn which has helped.

Oh yes, the Pluto transit. Aye Caramba! Right now Pluto is exactly squaring my 5th house Uranus. Not sure what is coming up with that. When Pluto moves another two degrees to 13 of Capricorn, he will be exact upon my Mars and exactly squaring my Sun in Aries in the 11th.

Right now I am seeing buried aspects of myself coming to the light. The latest revelation is that I'm gender queer. A gay man in a woman's body that would confuse the dickens out of my male friends. They'd chase after me for years and I wouldn't give them a chance. One thoughts I was a lesbian and started sending lesbians by to court me. That didn't work cause I am asexual with heterosexual leanings.

God knows what else will come up from the darkness within.

I have parted ways with my dysfunctional family of origin - well made a brazen escape to my liberation and freedom and striving to live a healthy life before hell bogged me down if I did stay enmeshed in the toxic muck. I can't be living on my 4th house Leo south node......Time to go North to the 10th house if Aquarius and find my extended family.

So the Sun, which is now being transited by Pluto rules my 4th house. I am not sure what is going to happen in my home life. So far I'm the one ruling the roost. Uranus Rules my MC and I have no clue as to what will be going on there. Career wise I have no direction.

Now with Mars in Cap in the 8th - this is the biggest are of concern and fear for me - Inheritances. I deeply dread being left in a will - that would mean more hell to deal with then it comes to my family of origin - I just finished escaping and put in a lot of hard, painful work trying to unlearn the dysfunctional conditioning of my childhood.

Saturn will so oppose my 1.41 degree Mercury in Taurus chart ruler so.......I can say that I won't have a boring life this year.....

So with Pluto go with the flow, keep and open mind and breathe. Look at the buried stuff coming up as a treasure hunt with jewels that have long been since buried - if you do have stuff surfacing in your life....if it gets really dark - look into comedy writing, dark humor is a favorite.
