I had a thought occur to me: The local power utility (PP&L in my area) gave us warning that we could be without power for up to a week due to Hurricane Sandy. This would take us past Election Day in the worst-case scenario. There's a lot of places that use electronic voting machines now, which require... power. In 2000, Mercury was Retrograde, and we remember the chaos in the election then, especially in Florida, a state well-known for Hurricanes (among other, more pleasant things, like sun and nicer weather). Mercury turns retrograde on Nov. 6th, on election day and is in the Shadow Zone right now. I'm not sure how this is going to play out, but we certainly won't know at midnight that night who won, that's for sure, be it EST, PST, or whatever. Communications and messages will definitely still be disrupted from the aftereffects of the storm, of that I am certain. Thoughts? IP: Logged |

I suppose Diebold will have the results ready again as they did in 2008: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBrDzZCOQtI quote: Embarrassed Diebold officials apologized after one of their electronic voting machines prematurely revealed the winner of our upcoming sham election

You know... I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm wondering how they're going to handle the disruption of the election by this uber-franken-hurricane. I already know it's going to be a political mess. I'm shaking my head in sadness right now, if for no other reason than because I'm so darned tired of all of the talk about the campaigns. I'm in a swing state, so it's 5x louder than it is in other states. Oh Mercury retrograde>>> I'm sure there are other transits that go into it, but I haven't taken a look. Something tells me that Uranus is involved, and perhaps Neptune... IP: Logged |

There was some mention of backup generators in news reports; this election's gonna be more of a joke than anticipated. Just happy there's sunshine in my state IP: Logged | |
