I never experienced it that way. but then again the last time saturn in my 1st house I was very young. it's pretty much just moving houses and schools.
Below pretty much said what I am going through with saturn 12th house. This transit will end in December, thankfully!!

yeah 2011 was also kind of 'ending' year for me in relationship and finance. 2012 is like a new start for both. getting more stability now, hopefully get stronger next year

Worst year of my life,saturn in 12th transit is the most difficult transit I have faced,I have always been a loner but isolation that saturn in 12th brings is in completely different level.I analysed myself a lot.It was quite karmic as well.Saturn stood right behind me to kick me whenever I made mistakes.Neptune in pisces has also been conjuncting my pisces sun,mercury and saturn.I have been floating around in my dream world.Jupiter in Taurus brought nothing significant in my life.Jupiter in Gemini has been transiting my 8th house.Saturn is going to conjunct my ascendant,pluto,nn,jupiter and a bunch of asteroids in first house after a while,this is going to be fun,possibly make or break time in my life.Transformation has always been theme of my life and I am definitely in need of a big one.IP: Logged |

I'm going to disagree with that. I go by whole signs chart and natally I have Saturn conjunct AC in Libra. I just finished my first Saturn's Return and when T Libra Saturn crossed my AC and finished with my first house, I felt like I laid down a stronger and more solid foundation for myself than any other time in my life. During this time, I've also felt like all the problems I had were quite solvable and worked hard towards finding answers and implementing solutions. It was during this time that I've felt comfortable being myself and stopped giving into others and learned to "balance" a lot things in my life and prioritize what's necessary and what I can do without (all of Libra risings are people pleasers to some extent). vs. When T Virgo Saturn was hitting my 12th house before, it was sheer and utter helplessness. I felt all kinds of chaos and yet, unable to deal with a lot of things on a realistic level. I had a difficult time bringing everything to the forefront and most of my problems went unsolved. My divorce was spurn on during this time period and I felt like everything was completely out of control. Saturn is concrete and real and when you get that kind of force placed or transiting a hidden house such as the 12th, it makes all your fears and subsconcious woes very REAL. Unfortunately, dealing with the issues end up being murky and confusing. When Saturn is placed or transiting an overt house, such as the 1st house, the ability to deal with Saturnine energy comes to the surface and everything becomes tangible. IP: Logged |

Spiritually, a lot seems to have been gained." theme of my life it's just more intense this last 2 yrs both losing and gaining. I let go of a lot of things and attachments to them. now the only material possession I am keeping is just for survival/basic needs. I never felt so free in my life there is a bit of pain when letting go of some relationships and friendships in 2011. but I also gained new ones that I am more content with and content with me. so all in all, it's more like setting the ground for healthier and more solid 2013.
