Hi forum,
I have only recently started dwelving deeper in astrology. Throughout my life, I have always struggled to put my foot down and be assertive and ask for what I want, mostly in relationships. Outside I am considered a sort of tough guy, however it always bugs me and pains me inside to be so. So my placements are:

Sun in Taurus
Asc in Libra
Venus in Pisces
Moon in Virgo
Mars in Libra

Do you think any of this might be making me so soft and yielding, especially when it comes to matters of the heart. As I said, I am a tough one on the outisde, I only hope the people I manage at work dont know about this

Sun in Taurus and Moon in Virgo combo should make you quite practical and grounded. They are quite good for your Venus in Pisces.Asc in libra is perceived as sociable.Chart ruler is exalted.Where is your mars?if its in first then it will make you assertive, you may appear tough.I think your problem in being assertive is because of your libra asc and venus in pisces which may want to please everyone.Post your natal chart in PERSONAL READINGS section,it will be more clear from your natal chart.

Honestly, for these types of questions, I usually find that it's better to look at planetary aspects and houses rather than just planetary placements. I would also look closely at Mercury (and the 3rd house), as Mercury still rules communications (though Venus rules love and Mars rules passion). Tough on the outside, problems with relationships on the inside sometimes reads to me as issues with Chiron too... It just depends.

enchantress,
How do I generate a picture of my planetary aspects and houses? Any good sites to recommend?

Astro.com is the one that most people use. You can generate charts under the Free Horoscopes tab.

Don't ask me how to post it though... I always forget. I know you have to save the image to a webhosting website like photobucket and then you can post it here. There's a forum thread somewhere around here with the instructions.

Mars in Libra, you need someone who is receptive to YOUR needs, not just you being receptive to them. Equal give and take, stay away from the greedy animals. Venus in Pisces just exaggerates this since they can just be give give give. You're not too soft you just need someone who respects what you have to give. If you have to struggle to be assertive then it seems you're attracting or being attracted to people who negate you as a person. Taurus Libra and Pisces are definitely some of the softer signs, Virgo can be too.
Hmm I don't think people would PERCEIVE you as too soft, since Taurus Sun is typically v.strong even tho they can be quite tender, and Virgo Moon is very focused on present reality and filling in the gaps in what needs to be done to get something rolling along. But I gotta say Venus in Pisces is gonna come out at times regardless
Anyway prob you'll be most comfortable with your own kind, people that have these signs emphasized in Asc & Sun-Jupiter: Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Libra, Pisces. Maybe Virgo.

What Lonake said...

But I'd also like to add- it was as I suspected- you have a very close Chiron/Moon trine (1'). So that's going to make you a bit more tenderhearted and sensitive emotionally. Chiron and the Moon are both in relational houses- Chiron is in the 7th house (relationships) and the Moon is in the 11th (friends and groups of people).

I personally have Chiron in the 7th, and I will say that for me, it has always been a struggle to be able to fully verbally communicate what it is that I need from a partner. Chiron has to do with your own inner wounds and how you can teach others (just FYI, since it seems you are new to astrology).

The Chiron influence combined with your Moon influence is likely to make you highly sensitive to the needs/wants of your partner and possibly highly sensitive to rejection of any sort. You might interpret any differences in relationships as potential problems and try to accede to the other person to avoid difficulties, when in actuality, you might need to actually verbalize what it is that you are feeling in order to come to a better understanding with the person that you are in a relationship with.

Honestly, I wouldn't view it so much as a problem, because being soft and yielding in relationships can be a GOOD thing, as you are more likely to want to make the relationship work, but at the same time, you have to learn how to manage it so that your partners don't run over you and so they actually understand what your needs are in the relationship.

Hope that helps.

Your Ascendant in Libra conjuncts Pluto and Saturn and so, already the 7th house themes(partnerships) not only become something with which you must learn to handle properly(Saturn) , but a downright obsession(Pluto).

You have a Sun in Venus ruled Taurus and the ruler (Venus) is in the exaltation sign (Pisces) at a critical 29th degree. The Sun is also in the 7th house with Venus in the 6th (work)

So yes, the Venus themes are strong in your chart.

The Sun in Taurus defines itself in terms of a relationship: Its need to "stabilize",“build”, “accumulate” and issues of self-worth etc. are intertwined very much with a partner(either in love,in family dynamics or professionally).

With Venus in the 6th house, this can show itself up as someone who enjoys harmonious, agreeable work conditions.

To be liked, to work well with co-employees or those whom the individual reports to, is very important.

With Venus in Pisces, it is very hard (with the Venus placement in water) not to take our feelings with us to work.

Often, being isolated socially is our worst fear or, in the case that the fear is already realized, we yearn for people to see us as agreeable, likeable and pleasing to be with (Venus).

Moon is in self-deprecating, organized, critical, but intellectual Virgo. The fact that this moon sits in the 12th house could mean that we struggle to draw boundaries or show our more organizational skills.

This Moon/ Mars conjunction forms an opposition with Venus: Asserting ourselves (Mars) and voicing what makes us feel comfortable (Moon in Virgo) conflicts greatly to how well we are received (Venus).

Saying “no, I won’t do that” becomes something quite difficult as we are terrified of being viewed as “selfish, uncaring, unloving”.

In personal relationships this could factor in seeing our partners(Venus) as people that we want to do our uttermost to serve, protect, love and honour(6th).

But in our way of finding our own voice in what makes us comfortable(Moon) which is often suppressed ( 12th ), we run the risk of not being seen as “loving”, “pleasant” or “agreeable” (Moon opposition Venus).

Venus square Neptune in 3rd also contributes to a hidden voice or not being able to express our own immediate thoughts clearly within the relationships that we deem are important.

Perhaps we are terrified of the relationship dissolving? Or the tension that will occur if any dissatisfaction is voiced?

With Venus-Neptune square, we may see our relationship/partner as “holy” and do our outmost to preserve sanctity: Even if the cost is to ourselves
